These days, Yang wasn't in the best of moods. Since her run-in with Pitch, she hadn't dared try to go back to illegal fighting again. She had only escaped last time because Pitch felt like letting her go. Her main supply of cash was cut off, and she was too prideful to ask for help. Sure, she knew Omar and Jane had offered to assist her if need be, but she was determined to get money herself. She could stand asking for a meal or a piece of clothing, but she felt like money was going over the line, mainly because she had little means of paying them back. So, with underground fighting out of the way, she had gone back to the most common method of getting some cash fast: pick pocketing. It was one of the first skills she had learned while living out on the streets, and even though she hadn't done it for a while, she remembered how to do it in no time. The French Quarter was crawling with rich people today, who in Yang's opinion, were more than a little snobby. So, she didn't feel too guilty about snatching some of their wallets. Within an hour, she had four of them, and was now going through them to see if she had gotten anything good. What she didn't know, was that someone had spotted her a few minutes back, and was now watching her every move.

Jim followed the blond girl that he had seen pickpocket a few people. He followed at a distance, so that if she happened to look back at him he would look like he was just part of the crowd. He watched her go through the four wallets she had grabbed. As she went through them he slowly moved closer to her.

It took a moment for Yang to realize that somebody was slowly approaching her from behind. She was a little too engrossed in going through her stolen loot. "A Blockbuster card? Seriously? How old are you, dude?" she muttered to herself. The wallet only had a few dollars in it anyway, so she tossed it aside. However, her instincts finally kicked in, and she felt the hairs on the back of her neck stand up. Somebody was watching her. There was a split second of deciding whether to run or fight. Yang, of course, chose the latter option. "Whoever's sneaking up on me better get back if they don't want to get burned," she threatened, spinning around with her fists already aflame. However, she stopped before she could place a strike as she realized that the person approaching her had been a police officer. The flames instantly died down and she took half a step back. How much had this guy seen? Could she make a break for it? She immediately shook that idea away. Running away didn't always solve everything. Her encounter with Pitch had driven that lesson home. Maybe she just had to wait, figure out what this guy was like.

At the sight of fire, Jim defensively put his hand by his gun in his holster. He didn't move his hand from where it hovered when Yang extinguished her fire. He did however relax his defensive position slightly. "Hard to tell what you'll get when you pick pockets isn't it?" He said leaning against a building.

The officer relaxed slightly once Yang made her flames die down, although it was obvious that he had seen her steal the wallets. She instinctively hid them behind her back, even though it was a useless gesture. She had to either fight or sweet talk her way out of this if she didn't want to get hauled to the police station. She was a bit upset that she had even been caught in the first place. First Pitch, now this guy, she was losing her game. Although, the more she looked at the officer, the more she noticed something different about him. "Aren't you a little young to be a cop?" she asked, her purple eyes gazing at his blue ones. The guy couldn't be more than twenty one.

"Family business." Jim said with a shrug at Yang's question about his being too young to be a cop. "Aren't you a bit old to have to resort to pickpocket people?" He asked raising an eyebrow. Yes he was aware that he was the youngest person on the force, however he could keep up with the best of them thanks to the training he and his brother had been given.

"Hey, a girl's gotta make a living somehow," Yang replied, tossing her hair over her shoulder. This guy seemed pretty serious. It might be difficult to sweet talk out of this situation. But he was young, and if there was one thing Yang knew about young men, is was that most of them went crazy for a pretty girl. And while Yang had never sold her body, she was pretty good at flirting. Having long blonde hair and decent-sized boobs certainly helped. "So, you got a name, Mr. Police Officer?" she asked, grinning.

Jim watched Yang flip her hair over her shoulder. Being a cop and coming from a line of hunters, his eyes were attracted by movement regardless of how small it was. At her question and sudden change of tone and subject he blinked in surprise. "Jim Colt." He said once he recovered from the shock.

"Jim Colt..." Yang gave a laugh. "No wonder you became a police officer with a last name like that." What could be a better occupation for a guy whose last name was the same as a type of gun? "I can be a pretty wild gun myself. Think you could handle me?" She leaned in a little closer, smiling.

Jim blinked in confusion. Was she flirting with him? The younger Colt brother thanked his lucky stars that Dimitri wasn't around. Honestly she wasn't his type, plus she looked to be pretty young herself. "Uh...." was all he could say.

Yang wasn't sure if Jim was flustered or confused. Either way, she could use it. The more distraction, the better. "Aw, relax baby. There's no need to get nervous around me," she said, her hand inching up his arm towards his shoulder. "I don't bite...much." She gave a grin.

She was flirting with him. Probably trying to distract him. Which was working. He cleared his throat hoping to gather his thoughts. "So what's your name?" He asked hoping to distract her.

Was her flirting starting to work? Yang felt like it was. She just had to work at Jim a little more before making a break for it. If he wasn't distracted enough, he would be able to easily catch up with her. "Yang," she replied. "Although I've also been called a little firecracker." That was mostly because of her powers, but people had commented that it matched her fiery personality as well. "Why don't we skip the chit chat and move onto more...interesting things?" She inched a bit closer, her hand trailing from Jim's shoulder down his chest.

And just like that Jim went from slightly uncomfortable to extremely uncomfortable. Flirting had always been Dimitri's department. Truth be told Jim would have much preferred her to throw fire at him. He cleared his throat again. "....How about we don't and say we did?" He said trying to keep his voice neutral.

Yang pouted her lips. "Oh, tense are we?" she said. "Maybe I can help you with that." It looked like the time was right to make her move. She closed the distance between her and Jim and softly kissed him. If she was honest, she would admit that she was having a little fun with this. Sometimes, she didn't even need her fire powers to be intimidating. She just needed to toss her hair, smile, flirt a little, and boom. She could have someone eating out of the palm of her hand.
