Easy Does It (Tag: Riku)

Riku felt extremely excited when he had convinced Aqua to let him do this on his own. He had been aching to prove to her-and himself-that he could handle some cases on his own now. He felt ready. So when they got a call about a missing paycheck he was immediately pouncing on it and begging Aqua to let him do it alone. Eventually she agreed and off he went.

His first order of business was to comfort the woman who had lost the paycheck . "It's alright ma'am. We'll sort this out" he had said, before mixing some of his powders and dusting it on the ground, making several footsteps appear. He tracked down what appeared to be the right footsteps and followed them out of the house, tossing more powder out as needed. He looked up and around after getting the general direction of the footsteps and walked to a dark haired individual who seemed to be walking away from the scene. Maybe this was a witness he could use so he didn't have to waste all his powder! "Excuse me, sir? Do you have a moment? I was wondering if you could tell me what way a suspect went?"

Riku stopped several feet from the individual, eyes narrowing. There was much dark magic going on here around this person and Riku knew better than to get closer. "Easy friend. I'm just inquiring about a robbery" he said carefully, one hand staying near his belt and powders. He had some that caused fire and explosions and some charms that repelled some demonic energies. He could repel the worst of it if need be. Riku wanted to get out of this peacefully but if he couldn't, well....He was on the level of a Voodoo Queen power wise. He could hold his own till backup came.

Riku bit his lip, torn. But he had a sworn duty to do and besides, all the bad juju emanating off this guy was making his hair stand on end. "I'll deal with you later" He said, blue eyes narrowing warningly. He used his dust to once more locate his perp's footsteps because obviously this guy wasn't going to help him, and he began walking in that direction. "You can help if you want" he called over his shoulder. "And then hurt me later I guess"

"Might as well have you along. Keep you out of trouble and where I can see you until I can sort things out" Riku stopped when a wall of dark energy cut him off and he took a deep breath to control the sudden frustration. It was supposed to be simple. He was supposed to find a guy who had stolen a woman's check. But no, the day he begged to be let off Aqua's leash was the day he had to run into a cop-hating psycho who wanted to cause trouble. Riku turned slowly and glared at the other, one hand on his belt of powders and one hand on his gun. "Let me do my job please" He said, focusing on remaining calm "Or I'll have to arrest you for obstruction of justice"

Riku's eyes widened slightly and then narrowed again ."What has Aqua got to do with this?" He asked calmly. The guy didn't appear to be intimidated by Riku but Riku didn't mind. Not a lot of people were intimidated by him actually. Either they knew his background or his overall personality or his actual abilities and usually underestimated him. He could try summoning, but he needed time to actually draw a circle and he had never been good at circling. Unlike Weiss, who wasn't half bad at that side of voodoo. Riku's mouth opened a bit in shock at the other's knowledge of his history and then he gritted his teeth and shook his head. "The desire to make a positive impact on the society I live in doesn't make me a hero. It just makes me a good person" he stated firmly. "Why don't you go slither back to whatever hole you came out of and stop bothering people, eh?"

Riku stumbled but remained standing. He'd been waiting for the guy to give him a reason to use his weapons and as a first line of defense whipped out his gun and pointed it at the other man, waiting for him to act again. "Why so hostile?" he asked the-what was seeming more and more was a demon-stick shoved where the sun don't shine or did your boyfriend ditch you?" he smirked and blew some white hair out of his eyes. "Either way, bring it sweetheart"

Riku calmly dropped his gun as his ankles and his gun. He relaxed his arms, and then pulled out his special, more dangerous powders from a pocket on his pants. He bent to his hands and blew the dust at Vanitas, the dust moving with an unseen wind to hit it's target. "Maybe, but even little foxes can cripple big bears" he said with grim satisfaction. The powder would either burn Vanitas or blind him, Riku wasn't sure. It all depended on how it was mixed and he'd been in a hurry. For all he knew it'd do a combination of the two.
