"I should stop myself" Moses murmured. But his eyes were full on black and he was lost in how good it felt to punch something living, something breathing. Something that was just asking for the pain. He felt some panic when the other caught his fist and forced him to look him in the eyes and his eyes faded from black back to brown with normal whites. "I'm just a half-demon" he whispered. "I don't want to get lost in that other half of me" but the guy was right, it did feel good. It felt damn good. Moses smirked and wrenched his hand out of the other man's. "If you want it" he purred, losing himself once more in the thrill of it all.

"It's just natural for creatures like us," Vanitas said, finding it odd that he was actually encouraging someone to do something. But for the sake of his little scuffle, it seemed he would have to play along. "And I'm a demon. Don't live by their rules. You're not one of them." Vanitas replied. He smirked when the man started to fight back. Now, now he he could let go, so he threw a punch. "You'll never be like them no matter how hard you try and once they know that, they'll never look at you the same!"

Moses bit his lip and shook his head. This wasn't right. He shouldn't want this! But he did. And once he heard the other was a demon, well he relaxed a bit. He could let go and attack the guy all he wanted now. He could pretend the guy was Hexxus or something. Moses caught the punch just barely in time, grunting at the effort it took. He swung the guy into a wall and growled. "I don't want to be different from everyone else!" it was almost a wail. "But why does hurting people feel so good?!"

Vanitas grinned even when he hit the wall. "Power. Because you can." Vanitas wasn't going to lie, asserting dominion over those inferior dullards that believed themselves morally correct was one of his favorite things. He loved proving to them that they were not as strong as they thought, that they were as good as they thought, this demon was no different, especially since he tried avoiding his baser nature. Vanitas enjoyed the little things in life, and ruining people, knocking people down a few pegs, or rather throwing them face first in the dirt was a real delight. "You can make them squirm. Hearing them beg for mercy... Now that's something truly special."

Moses whimpered. "Those are my worst nightmares" he whispered, and began backing away once more. He really didn't feel like fighting, especially now. The reminder of his dreams felt like being dunked in cold water and he felt human again. Human and afraid. "Ju-Just get away from me" he muttered. "I'm sorry for bumping into you earlier now quit goading me"

"Fine," Vanitas huffed, "Don't fight me." The annoyance dripped from his voice as he glowered at the coward. He couldn't help the disappointment he felt. However, this could prove to be far more entertaining than a once off quasi fight, even though he hadn't done much in the way of fighting back aside from some caustic barbs at the Halfling. But this was far more interesting. The halfing had attacked him, fought him and enjoyed it. Vanitas had given him a taste of what it was like to give into the urges. Like any addict, this guy would probably come back for more or go out and see the 'high' for himself now that he knew what it was like to see someone hurt and suffer because he had caused it. Vanitas laughed and dusted himself off, now enjoying this a little more once he realized that. "Next time, leave the morals at home, Boy Scout."

"Thank you" Moses said a tad sarcastically. "For allowing me the pleasure of not fighting" however he still did want to fight the other demon, a part of him still really wanted it. However, he felt he had that side under control...for now. "If I leave the morals at home I lose sight of who I am" Moses protested. He turned and began walking away.

"You've already lost sight of who you are, demon." Vanitas retorted, fighting sarcasm with equal sarcasm. A demon that wouldn't fight was as useful as a djinn that wouldn't grant wishes or a vampire that didn't drink blood. With all things considered, this was a failure on Vanitas' part but just a stepping stone in the game. He had confidence he could tip this guy's morals and once he did things would be much more fun for the both of them. For now, he would let the whelp retreat like a dog with its tail tucked between it's legs. "Can't run from yourself forever."

"Half-demon. Half" Moses corrected him before he could stop himself, and cursed softly. He needed to stop responding to this guy, he really did. Moses scowled darkly at the other man and shrugged. "Watch me" was all he said before he turned and began walking-practically running-back home. He knew he was being cowardly but he didn't care. The whole ordeal had seriously freaked him out.

Vanitas laughed until the halfling was out of sight. The man said half demon but Vanitas said wolf in sheep's clothing. But with his prey gone, Vanitas had no choice but to head home himself. Best not to get caught outside during patrol hours. Someone might think he were up to something.
