Cruella was quiet. Adeline couldn't tell what she was thinking. Heck, she wasn't even sure what she should do now. Ask more questions? Try to grab a person or two and make a hasty exit? She wasn't even sure if that was possible. Would they be stopped before they even made it out the front door? She felt like she had rushed in here with a vague goal, but she had no idea how to achieve it. Even if she managed to get a few people to come with her, they would still be leaving everybody else behind. What was she going to do? Trying to make small talk, she asked "So, do you get this many people every night?"

The roar of the crowd and the bowing of the Hex Girls meant that the small charity concert was coming to a close. The band was waving goodbye, and giving a shout out to Cruella, thanking her for hosting the venue. The fashionable woman grinned with glee, unlike her bloolust or greedy grins, and she waved her hand in flattery. The girls were just being too kind. She would have to write a check later, after she entertained this kitten. "I can't say every night, darling. However, we do get quite the crowd. Our hours are nights, for obvious reasons, kitten."

The band seemed to be dying down. Did that mean people were leaving? Or were they going to stay and take part in the club's more adult entertainment? Adeline wasn't sure, and she was still trying to come up with something she could do. Cruella mentioned that most of the business occurred during the night, which made sense. Heck, that was when most illegal activity happened. Most criminals didn't commit crimes in broad daylight unless they had to, like if they were robbing a bank or something. Or, sometimes they were just crazy enough to try it. Thrax came to mind, and how he hadn't cared it was the middle of the day. He'd pretty much lost it as soon as he had caught sight of Adeline. The memory made her shiver, and she hadn't noticed how suddenly quiet she had gotten.

A few people were heading for the door, others were sticking around and settling down at the lounge tables. Some started ordering drinks from their tables or in the bar, playing cards, or just talking about whatever it was they would talk about. Cruella pulled her check book out from the folds of her pocketbook, which had hung on her wrist. The blood red pen followed shortly there after, and she began scribbling the payment for the Hex Girls; the usual payment of three hundred for entertainment, and it'd be easy for the three girls to split. A fair portion. "I take it you've been having a rough few..." she paused as she ripped out the finished check, "I realize I never got your name, sweet girl."

Cruella asked for her name, and without even thinking, Adeline replied with "Oh, it's Adeline." Immediately, she felt like punching herself in the face. What was she thinking, giving out her real name like that? Was she brain dead? If Pitch were here, he'd probably say something about she needed to calm down so she wouldn't do foolish things like that. She wondered if Cruella would recognize the name. Sure, a bunch of girls were named Adeline, but she was the only Adeline who showed up in the news nearly every time Thrax was mentioned, mostly because he had attacked her so many times in the past. What would Cruella even do if she knew the Adeline in front of her was the same one who had summoned Thrax? Would she think her dangerous? Or as a possible addition to her posse? Adeline wasn't sure which option was worse.

"What a pretty name. Adeline." Cruella cooed it, but there was a hint of venom beneath the affectionate compliment. The child was still fairly young, so why was she in a dirty little section. Well, she did come into probably the only well protected part of Garcon Perdu, so perhaps she was trying to escape the horrors of the goings on outside? That wouldn't explain the odor of demon, though. A half-demon, perhaps.

Adeline could feel her gut twisting. A couple of other club-goers were leaving. Maybe she should do the same. Or at least, head towards the exit until she came up with some kind of plan. She didn't want this venture to go to waste. If Axel found out, he'd definitely yell at her for that. Heck, he'd probably yell at her no matter what she did. If he found out, she would be in seriously hot water. She knew she had gone in here, even when Axel had specifically told her not to. She felt like she couldn't help it though. All the kids that were going in here, she felt like she couldn't just leave them. If something bad had happened to them, she would have felt so guilty. And she already had enough situations on her plate that made her feel guilty. She didn't want to add anything else. "I should probably head out," she said, gesturing towards the door. "Um...it was nice talking with you." That was probably a lame farewell, but Adeline just wanted to get closer to the exit. It'd probably put her at ease and help her not feel so nervous.

"Oh, yes I probably kept you too far away from your friends." Adeline rushing off was no surprise to Cruella. On top of being much older than this minor and the concert crowd leaving, some staying at the edge of the door to talk to the Hex Girls while those who had been trances to stay behind lingered in a grog in the middle of the now vacant stage, she had probably stayed longer than usual. She fanned her hand with her whitened smile wide, her blood red lips curving. "Do come again, Adeline."

Adeline had to fight the urge to snort. Any friend she had probably wouldn't even take one step through the front door. Axel hated it for obvious reasons. Namine would be too scared. Pitch would think the place deplorable. In short, nobody she knew would like it here. "Yeah, sure," she replied hastily, quickly making her way to the exit. However, she did linger near the door, glancing back towards those who remained behind. She couldn't imagine what might happen to them. Some would probably have sex sure, but what if the rest of them became a late night snack? She couldn't just leave them to their fate. She had to do something, but what? The only way everyone would leave the place was if it was about to explode or catch fire or something. However, that thought made something spark in Adeline's mind, and an idea began to form. Setting the place on fire was too dangerous, but if she could make everyone believe there was a fire, they'd get out of here quick. It may not stop them from coming back in the future, but at least they would be spared tonight. That had to mean something. Adeline's magic power started to stir, and she concentrated hard on what she wanted to happen. Her magic took stock of what was in the building. The fire alarm would be too complicated to reach, but messing with the sprinkler system would do the trick. Adeline glanced up towards the ceiling. She wasn't sure if she could see them. The lights made it hard to see anything that far away. But she had a feeling they were there. She focused, and then she gave a simple wave of her hand. The first sprinkler shuddered, then started spraying water. The rest soon started doing the same, setting off one after the other like a row of dominoes. The shrieks given by those who were still inside were more out of surprise than genuine fear, and everyone started heading towards the nearest exit. Adeline gave a little smile, feeling like she had done some good.

Well, now that Adeline was out of the way, Cruella could sigh in relief and give the lead singer Thorn the money. She met up with the red and black blood witch, who had somehow managed to sneak away from the crowds into the draped restrooms. She had been using mint to soothe her vocal chords, and had accepted the check willingly. After that transaction was completed, Cruella slunk off to her own private office. Like everything in Mina, the attire was goth chic, but the hints of red were much more prominent. She scribbled down the money withdrawal in her black velvet checkbook, snapped it shut, and was about to leave when she heard screams. Her brow furrowed. She hadn't authorized the feeding to commence now, and better yet, the clock said it was half an hour until midnight. Huffing, Cruella stormed out...and hissed as water from the sprinklers hit her fur coat. She wasn't phased by the water, it wasnt blessed after all, but her valuable furs were going to be ruined. Thumps and screams continued from the main ballroom, and she rushed to the pleasure rooms to try and evacuate any pack girls that could be affected, knocking on them and crying out.
"Get out this instant! At least make yourselves decent if you cannot get your clothes on! It's water, not acid! No, there's no fire, the blasted sprinklers came on! I don't know how, just get out! Oh, he'll still be there! Just GO!"

Wherever Cruella was, Adeline didn't see her. But it looked like she didn't have to worry about her right now. As far as she knew, nobody suspected that she was responsible for this. By the time she made it outside the building, all people were talking about was how the sprinklers had put a damper on their fun.
"I mean, things were just getting good too!" Adeline heard a girl say angrily to a boy. "Like, what the hell is up with this place?"
"It's okay baby, I'm sure it was just a one time thing," the boy said reassuringly. "They'll probably fix it by the time we come by next week."
"Will they though?" Adeline interrupted, with a raised eyebrow.
"What do you mean?" the girl asked, eyes narrowing in suspicion.
"I'm just saying, a building with a faulty sprinkler system doesn't seem like a very safe place," Adeline continued. "What if the rest of the building is like this? What if it's not the sprinklers that falter next time? What if it's the lights? Or what if the sprinklers don't come on when there's a real emergency? If I were you, I'd go somewhere else to have a good time."
The girl and the boy glanced at each other. But Adeline could see that they were considering what she had said.
"You know what? I think you're right," the girl replied. "I wanna go somewhere else where the appliances actually work."
"Whatever you say, baby," the boy said with a shrug.
They marched off after that, seeming like their minds were made up. Seeing them go made Adeline beam. At least she'd convinced two people to stay away from here. That had to count for something.
((Wanna start wrapping it up? Or keep it going? I'm fine with either option.))

((I'll wrap it up here)) The whole group was evacuated. Wet, but safe. Some people were grumbling and storming out. Others were helping one another by handing out blankets or small fire huddles from voodoo powders. Those who needed to dry off rushed over, warming and drying themselves in the heat. Cruella blew a strand of wet hair from her yes. Just what she needed; wet dog smell.
And the smell of something else.
That was no accident that caused the sprinkler system. Cruella wasn't stupid. Someone was trying to sabotage her good work, her good name. But who would...
Of course. That girl Adeline. It was the only reason she would stall for as long as she did. It was to distract the alpha dog from getting meals for her clients. Cruella's teeth bared. She tried to detect the scent of the black haired girl, but among the wet people and mingling blood and drugs of the streets, she had disappeared. She'd try to get the girl's scent and send her pack after her another time. Sooner or later, she would pay.
