"If you say so," Axel shrugged, "Don't know her myself so I can't exactly weigh in."
Axel just knew that the girl was shorter in stature than he was. She was a dainty little thing, which he could actually say about most of the patrons who visted his bar lately. The blue haired chick who visited for Omar all the time. Two girls who preferred white in their wardrobe - Weiss and some little blonde girl who looked terrified every time he spoke to her. Adeline. He supposed Anna could be called dainty, but she was actually a firecracker. A single light and she would implode taking everyone down with her in a fight. A scrappy little thing if her little run in with drunk patrons was anything to go off of.
"Hey, I just know the patrons prefer LaRue. And since they're the ones keeping the green rolling in at the bar, it's best to make sure they stay happy." Axel chuckled.

That was a very big understatement but it wasn't the kind of thing that Anna let bother her. She was different, she knew that. She liked things most people found simply strange or weird or unsettling. All one had to do was look at her occupation and that was clear enough. After all, how many people were perfectly happy and upbeat about working with cadavers? Not many if any.
By this point Anna had finished off almost all of her pizza, leaving behind only a few stray pieces of crust and a basil leaf of two. She closed her eyes for a moment and let out a sigh of contentment, pleasantly full but not feeling overly stuffed.
"Well, I hope your food was as good as mine. I can't remember the last time I had a pizza that tasty."

Axel merely grinned impishly at her. A lot of things about Anna went against any norm. That's what he liked about her. She was truly unpredictable and he liked taking her by surprise as much as she took him by surprise. She took the mold for female humans her age and broke it over her knee with almost exultant glee. Not many girls would have a pet lizard. In fact, most women he knew would run for the hills over seeing her pet. And that was just her pet. There was so much more to Anna than many other people gave her credit for. It was why he truly enjoyed being around her.
"I'm always full when I leave here." he told her.
He leaned back in his seat. He would chalk this up as a successful date. They had a good time, they were both well fed, and nothing had caught fire. He wasn't really the dating type. Having a date with Anna had been a bit intimidating if he were absolutely honest. Because he wanted things to go right. He didn't want to scare her off.

Anna nodded her head, smiling across the table at Axel and feeling a deep affection for the Fire Demon. Soon enough the server appeared and began removing their empty dishes. She gave him a friendly smile and thanked him but had other things on her mind. She didn't really want the evening to end so soon and for her to part from Axel. Just being around him made her feel so good, so happy and warm in a way she hadn't felt in quite some time. Suddenly, an idea popped into her mind.
"Hey, wanna come over to my place and watch a movie? I've got a pretty good collection and I'm sure we can find something we'll both like."
To anyone else this might have seemed somewhat inappropriate. She and Axel were only on their second date after all and she was already inviting him to her apartment? However, Anna wasn't worried or bothered by what other people might say. After all, Axel had already been to her place when he'd been checking up on her recovery. Heck, he'd even stayed the night that one time she had fallen asleep with her head in his lap and he'd never tried to do anything to her. So why not round out the evening by going back to her place?

He could have teased her for it. The very words sat on the tip of his tongue but he thought better of it. Her invitation to go home with him wasn't unusual. She had already invited him to her place for dinner once before. Not to count all the times he made himself a nuisance by constantly checking on her after she got out of the hospital. Humans were fragile creatures and naturally that made him worry that she might have tried to hurt herself if left alone with her thoughts for extended periods of time. He knew the darker nature of these things. Guilt and blame often ate away at reason and happiness. And yet, she bounced back. Slowly, but she still managed to dust herself off after everything she had been through.
"Sure. That'd be great." he confirmed.

Anna beamed across the table. Then, on a sudden whim, she leaned across the white-clothed surface and kissed him. She let the kiss linger for a second, two, three, before pulling back with a small giggle.
"I've always wanted to try that. Guess I've seen one to many romance movies, huh?"
She let out another light laugh, holding a hand just in front of her lips and feeling simply happy in that moment. Happy and in love.

Anna kissed him, far too short for his liking. He would have to remedy that later. After all, they had a movie night to get to. He rather liked the look on her face after she kissed him. Happy. Pink. Warm. He liked the way she made him feel (for once in his life) and he was the one that made her feel that way too. She liked the romantic things in life. Axel didn't have a lot of practice with that sort of affection but Anna made him want to try. She did a lot of things that made him step out of his comfort zone on her behalf (like break his no fire streak to protect her). Despite all of that, he didn't mind one bit.
"Nah, I think it's fine." Axel shrugged. "I'll just have to pay you back later."

Anna turned her head and cocked an eyebrow at Axel's words, the smile on her face just as sweet as always but also holding the tiniest hint of mischief in it. One thing was for certain, when Axel said he was going to do something he always kept his word. And she didn't mind one bit.
