Vanitas was thoroughly enjoying himself. He could fight to his heart's content and kill whatever he wanted because they were demons. He left a trail of demon corpses behind him as he went on a walk through the seedy neighborhood. Oddly enough, he was absolutely certain a cop had seen him. The man hadn't said anything. Just nodded and kept going as he was escorting a family to safety. Vanitas wasn't sure what to think of that. Being approved of by a cop? For killing other demons. He was coated in blood that wasn't his and finally scratched that itch for violence.

Red had wisely worn a red romper, comfortable black flats and an army green bag slung crosswise over her shoulder and across her chest. When everything went to shit, she was prepared like life had taught her. Her pink and white gun shot emerald bullets as Naveen and her spirits wrecked havoc around her on the demons. Wherever she went, a scene of destruction was left in her wake. Her hair had come out of it's updo and hung around her shoulders in blood red ringlets as she glared at the scene before her with eyes of blue fire. She pointed her gun at one demon, then another and another as she rapid fired and reloaded. She would have made any old western lawman proud. Red pointed her gun at the next demon, also covered in blood. He had pointy hair and yellow eyes. Vanitas, the guy with a bounty on his head and wanted by the police. "You betta choose yo next move very carefully" she told Vanitas in a low growl. "I ain't fraid o violence sug"

Vanitas' hands curled into tight fists. Moses specifically told him not to attack humans. This woman was as human as they came. Vanitas sneered. He held his hands up so that she could see he wasn't attacking her. He knew how things looked but he really was only attacking the other demons. He had even let humans escape while he toyed with his 'prey'. Demons versus demons. He didn't even have to hold back.

She narrowed her eyes and relaxed her stance but kept her gun up. "Sug, you're covered in blood, and there's a trail of your own kind behind you like Hansel's breadcrumbs. I'm gonna go out on a limb an not shoot ya, but I don' wanna get stabbed in th' back when I try ta leave" she thought for a moment. "How bout this, we team up an I work on gettin people outta danga while you fight whateva's tryin ta kill em, sound reasonable?"

"I'm only killing demons." Vanitas snarled.
He made a point of only killing the demons. It was what Moses had asked of him. And no one was going to cry over a few dead demons. If anything, they would thank him for it. The demons that had been unleashed on the city killed relentlessly and indiscriminately. They didn't care. A kill was a kill. They were doing it for the fun of things, just like Vanitas did. Only Vanitas could pass for human.

Red snorted. "You didn't used ta have that rule sugababy. What made you change yo rules" She walked over to him and brushed some gunk off his shoulder. "You need a showa an a make ova. Black might suit Pitch but I see red an purple suiting yo skin tone betta" she winked at him. "I'm goin ta follow you round, cuz obviously you ain't in it for protectin people, you just doin it to release some steam. An that's okay, but we needa get folks out at the same time"

"Whatever," Vanitas hissed.
He edged away from the woman, clearly not trusting her when she was that close to him. He turned on his heel and started to walk away. She wasn't the type to shoot a man in the back. He could go and find his next target. All he had to do was follow the screams. So that's what he did. When people were turning tail and running, he ran towards the mess. Smirking when he saw a big massive creature with vicious claws and fangs. He took a running start and tackled it, pummeling it again and again and again.

Red followed Vanitas, keeping a distance from him but not a big one. She nodded when she heard the screams and saw people running. While the kid was punching the creature, she was helping people get out of the situation, and Naveen was as well, using a little of her life energy to become visible so he could show people out of the situation. When that was done Red went to the fight and started firing at the creature, expertly shooting wherever Vanitas wasn't. "C'mon honey sweet!" she called to him. "You gettin tired? We got a whole city ta fix!"

"Screw you!" Vanitas spat.
He got back to his feet, looming over the demon he had just killed. It wasn't enough. He needed to fight something else. But he could just bask in the chaos this was causing. The screaming, the fear, the humans deserved this. He was helping them by fighting. He should just let the demons kill everyone. But then... they'd go after people like Moses who weren't entirely human, but not entirely demons either. Moses could fend for himself. But he would get squeamish over actually killing someone without just cause.

Red smiled. "Oh, I ain't inta lil boys sweetie. But thanks fer th offer" Red ran her hands over her jumper and looked at Vanitas. "You lookin like yer fightin inner battles" she said gently. "Tell me kiddo, what are you fightin for? or is it a someone?" she sighed. "You should go find whoever they are, make sure they okay" She looked around at the city. It was falling to ruin as they stood there. She bit her lip. "I'll help you find em. I got spirits to help search. If they're trapped or hurt or whateva, we gon' find yer important thing or person an protect"

Moses was fine. He was safe. He was strong enough to defend himself from demons. Lower class demons anyways. Besides, Vanitas had gone out to kill things, to stamp out the urge he had been fighting for nearly a year since his escape. He didn't need Moses clucking over him and scowling every time that Vanitas attacked something demonic just because it breathed in his general direction. He wanted to work out some pent up anger. He had to.

She raised an eyebrow. "In this situation, it's all my business, or are yeh afraid I'll turn them in fer harborin a fugitive" she raised a hand girl-scout style and looked at him with slight amusement. "Promise on m' honor I ain't gonna touch im. I promise I just wanna help" Naveen appeared in front of Vanitas with a grin.
"She means it too, boy-o. Red's not one to break promises, especially for someone with such love and hate battling in their heart" Red shrugged at that. She was a bit like the boy. Killing was all she thought she was good for, for a time. Now she was back to killing because the only ones who believed in her was gone.
"I just wanna help, Vanitas. I don't wanna see you broken because you couldn't protect someone"

"You don't get to pretend to care," Vanitas snarled darkly. "I don't have to tell you anything!"
She knew things she shouldn't. No one knew that Vanitas was even associated with anyone let alone a male aside from Yang and possibly Pitch, but those two weren't the gossiping types. Moses had more sense in him than to talk about whatever they were to anyone he met. So Vanitas glowered at the two before continuing his walk. There were still demons out there and their questions only started to build onto his rage. He needed to let some of that anger out before he turned on them.

"It ain't pretendin" she sighed. Naveen looked at him and shook his head. He seemed to think she knew more than she let on, and she really didn't. "Is it a guy?" her version of "them" might have sounded like "him". She sighed again. "Okay Vanitas, what do you wanna discuss in this valley o death? B'cause There's danger all around us and ya know what? If I was you I'd wanna protect the guy, but I couldn't protect anyone so I guess I'm biased" she said with a funny little half smile. Naveen shook his head again.
"Red, shut it dearie, or he might try to fight you"
"If he does I'll just shoot the kid, nobody would miss him-or almost nobody" she said matter of factly.

He started past the duo that had decided to become his much undesired tagalongs. Vanitas had only gotten by so long by not trusting anyone. He wasn't about to start now. Not when he could trust these two as far as he could throw them. He just wanted to kill things and these two were very much in the way of that. It's not like he got to do this on a normal basis. Normally what he was doing was seven different kinds of illegal but with it being a demon invasion, no one was going to question a demon fighting demons.
