"I suppose you're right," he confessed. "And maybe I have been a bit slow with things but I tend to... accidentally make grand gestures out of things."
Like sending her flowers at work when he put hours and hours of thought into the flower meanings but to Yang, they were just pretty flowers with a pretty expensive price tag. Or bringing chocolates back from his international trips. She didn't need the fancy things in life and she still wasn't used to when he would go out of his way to spoil her. That being said, he loved just being near her. The nights they crashed together, he probably even slept better because he knew she was safe and happy. He didn't have to wonder if she made it in safe - an occupational hazard with her job.

Yang realized what Adrien was hinting at. She remembered almost feeling scared when they'd first started their relationship, knowing that Adrien could get her almost anything she wanted with his money, and he'd do it 'cause he almost never said no to her. Granted, she didn't really feel that anymore, and she knew Adrien tried hard not to overwhelm her with stuff. Although if she was honest, she'd admit that if she had all the money in the world, she'd probably get Adrien anything he wanted too, 'cause she wanted him to be happy. "I know you mean them with love," she said with a little smile, giving him another kiss on the cheek. Any gifts he gave her came from the heart, and she felt like that was where the real value lay.

"I do," he agreed, "But you weren't comfortable with a lot of crazy things like spontaneous trips overseas or an entire chocolate shop."
He only wanted her to be happy. Dating was new to him since she was the only one he had dated, but they have been steady for quite some time. Perhaps it was time for them to move in together. Otherwise things could have gotten stagnant. He didn't want her to grow bored of him just because they were busy with work and couldn't go on as many dates as they used to.

"I think I can get behind trips overseas now that I've actually gone on one," Yang said with a laugh. Adrien's private island had been quite a venture. She hoped they could go back there again. Despite not being great mental wise, she'd still liked the place. "So, I'll talk to Riku about what to do with this house, see if he likes the idea," she said. "After that, I guess your house staff is just gonna have to get used to me being around more often." She gave a grin.

"I doubt they would mind that much. They're always asking me if I'm going to have a plus one to meals." he teased.
They probably would have been over the moon. He likely wouldn't tell them. Just let them figure it out on their own. It was more fun for him that way. Especially the gossip. There were plenty of little rumors floating around the mansion about what people thought of him and Yang. All positive but some saying he was too slow and he should consider putting a ring on her finger. At least now this should settle a few minds.

Yang laughed a little at that. It reminded her of some of Adrien's fans from his modeling days, and how some of them had been totally psyched to see him with a girlfriend. "I'm glad you're a fan of this," she said as she laced her fingers through his. "I know things were kind of rocky when we first started going out and stuff, but I'm happy we've gotten to this point."

"Well, I did sort of wear a mask when we first met," Adrien laughed. "Does make things a little difficult."
He rubbed his check with his free hand, as if remembering how he got punched in the face once she saw him again. He hadn't intended to get caught but honestly, this was the best possible result. He was happier than he ever imagined being with her. All because she left her mark on his face. His father had been furious that he came home with a black eye and a swollen face. He had been under house arrest for a month after that. And couldn't do any modeling gigs for a while even after that. But his father insisted he not go out so no one spread rumors that he was getting into scraps.

"And I was living in an abandoned movie theater with four kids to look after," Yang said. "That kind of made things even more difficult." Even though living on the street hadn't been a healthy way of dealing with the loss of her parents, Yang couldn't deny some of the fond memories she had during that time. She'd made a lot of her closest friends during that time, and she'd had quite a few crazy adventures too. She wasn't about to forget some of those.

"I'd have taken you all in if I didn't think you'd punch me for it."
He would have fought his father on it. The mansion was more than large enough to house Yang and her four kids. But he knew Yang wouldn't have accepted because it would have been like taking his charity and pity. She trusted Chat Noir back then. Until she found out Chat and Adrien were one in the same. Now he had no use for the mask aside from a memento of his past.

"I might have," Yang replied with a laugh. "Although who knows what the kids would have done at a place as fancy as your house." Going straight from the streets to a mansion probably would have boggled their minds. They would have wanted to explore and poke and touch everything that interested them, and Yang knew if there was one thing adults hated, it was kids that couldn't keep their hands to themselves. Granted, they'd probably be fine if they had enough supervision, and the most priceless breakable items were removed. "We should have them over after I move in," she suggested. "Their reactions would be priceless."

'I'd like that. We can have some rooms set up for them. Give them free reign of the movie room... I could always have an arcade set up if we want to be extra." he teased.
Though he could do it if she said she wanted it. His room alone would make the kids lose their minds. It had a climbing wall, a huge library, a basketball court, a master bath with a waterfall shower and a Jacuzzi tub. Needless to say the guest rooms were in that realm of absurd. Perhaps not as far as having climbing walls and basketball courts but each over the top in it's own way.
"And install cameras so you can record their heads exploding."

Yang laughed. "Having an arcade could probably make that happen," she said. The kids did love games, and having a whole room full of the arcade kind would probably make their heads explode. Although if money had been tight back in the day, they'd mostly resorted to things like Tag or Hide and Seek. Having free reign of the movie theater had given them plenty of space for those. "I'm no professional when it comes to interior decorating, but I'd love to add some homey touches," she said. "I know mansion is kind of the opposite of cozy, but we could probably make that happen." Yang still remembered first setting foot in the place, and how it had seemed a bit cold thanks to Adrien's dad's influence. She didn't want it to feel that way anymore.

"Have at it. There are more than enough rooms for you to change however you like." he assured her.
There were plenty of remnants of his father's touches in the house that were slowly being phased out. He would even offer the use of his credit card for Yang to get whatever she wanted but he was pretty sure she would turn him down. She had her pride and he didn't want her to feel like he was trying to buy her off. Besides, if Yang had a say in the personal decor, he could finally shake the last bits of his father... It would help him out a lot to be able to put that behind him.

Adrien pretty much liked the idea of Yang adding her own touches to the mansion, and that made her happy. "Thanks," she said. "I'm really looking forward to this." Squeezing his hand again, she leaned over to kiss him. She couldn't help but feel excited about all this. This was the next big step for them, and while there was always some adjusting to big changes, she knew this would be one for the better.

"Well, you said so yourself. This is the next step." he said. "And if you'll be living at my house, I'd at least want you to feel comfortable there."
The last thing he wanted was for her to feel stifled by his huge house. It was a lot to take in sometimes. Especially, if you weren't used to it. She made herself at home when she was in the manor. Yang knew her way around the mansion for sure, but she certainly didn't have to live there day to day before now. The thought of being able to see her every day was enough to make his heart feel like it would burst.
"So... Should I have boxes delivered here?" he asked. "So you can pack things up when you're ready?"
