"Arnaud! Hit me with another Hurricane and make it like Katrina!"
It wasn't even a minute later that the drink came sliding down the bar to stop smoothly in front of Anna. She picked up the drink immediately and gave a little salute to the bartender before taking a sip from the tall glass. She let out a contented sigh at the mixture of rum and fruit danced across her tongue, warming her body and giving her cheeks a rosy glow.
She had come down to the Bourbon Graisse Pub tonight to grab some dinner and a few drinks. Normally she would have invited someone to come along with her, but everyone in the BPD Others Unit was busy with something, leaving her to go on her own. That was fine, she didn't mind spending some time by herself and even if it did, she knew there were always new faces to meet at the Bourbon. She had finished her dinner along with two other Hurricanes and, while she was starting to feel a pleasant enough buzz, she knew this was most likely her last drink for the evening.
She swirled around on her barstool and smiled out at the people who filled the pub, sipping at her drink occasionally and just enjoying the simple act of people-watching. Her sunflower bag rested on the floor next to her and was filled with several edited autopsy reports that she needed to enter into the BPD database, but she wasn't concerned with things like work right now. Plenty of time to get it done later and really she was too busy admiring the color of a man's shirt to care much.

Ever since her last run-in with Riku at the coffee shop, guilt had been nagging at Weiss non-stop, like a mosquito bite that wouldn't stop itching. Her feelings about her brother never failed to confuse her. Sometimes, she hated him. Sometimes, she missed him. It was driving her nuts. She had found herself wondering about him all day. What was he doing right now? Investigating another crime? Hanging out with other members of the BPD? Getting totally settled into his new life and never thinking about the sister he had left behind?
"You stop that right now," she muttered to herself as her high heels clacked against the sidewalk. She hated self-pity. She refused to feel sorry for herself, although saying that was easier said than done. It was at that moment that she happened to pass by the Bourbon Graisse, one of the most popular pubs in town. For a split second, she thought she saw the familiar flash of silver hair.
Riku? That was the first thought that had flashed through Weiss's head, and before she could stop herself, she dashed into the pub, looking about wildly. But she could see no trace of Riku anywhere. She sighed. It looked like it had only been her mind playing tricks on her. She caught some people at a nearby table staring at her, probably wondering why a 16-year-old girl had walked in here. She gave them a hostile glare in return and snapped "What are you looking at?" That was enough to get the group to hastily turn away and strike up a random conversation.

Anna was feeling quite happy at the moment and was debating on if she wanted to join a rowdy group singing a pub song in the back. However, before she could decide the door of the pub slammed open and a young woman with shockingly white hair came in. Also, she was too young to be coming in for a drink at the bar. Anna blinked and stared t her for a moment, trying to make sense of the series of expressions that seemed to rapidly play across her face.
Hope, disappointment, anger, hurt. That last one was particularly strong even if she was snapping an another group of pub patrons who had been looking at her. Anna suddenly jumped down from her seat and walked over to the young woman with her own drink still in one hand and looping her bag around her free hand.
"Hey, you ok there?"

Weiss turned when a voice addressed her. It was a woman, with a drink in one hand and the other looping around a bag of hers. Weiss had no idea who she was, but striking up friendly conversation with a stranger was the last thing she wanted to do right now. "I'm fine," she replied coldly. "Just...thought I saw someone." She chided herself for barging in here. What would she do anyway? All she and Riku did anymore was butt heads. Why should this be any different?

"Oh yeah?"
Anna didn't pick up on the cool tone in which the young girl addressed her simply because she was too buzzed to notice. She hadn't reached the level yet where she was fully drunk, but she wasn't very far from reaching that point. Anna looked more closely at the girl for a moment, her eyes half closed in concentration as she tried to make sense of why the girl looked familiar.
Suddenly, it came to her and she grinned widely, the color still high in her cheeks.
"Hey, you kinda look like someone I know!"

Weiss blinked. Whoever this woman was, she didn't seem affected by the cold tone she was using. Maybe she just didn't care? Some people were like that. They were just so happy and go-lucky that anything mean said about them just bounced off. Or maybe this woman had just had a little too much to drink. However, Weiss froze when she said she looked like someone she knew. Shit, she thought. Did this woman know Riku? Was she part of the BPD? Was she even talking about Riku? Weiss could only respond with a weak "Oh...really?"

Anna nodded happily before finishing the last of her drink and putting the glass down on the counter, sliding it also so perfectly that it came to a rest right in front of the bartender. She did this all while keeping her eyes on Weiss.
"Yep. You have the same coloration and a face just like one of my coworkers. Heck, you two could be twins!"
Anna gave a laugh at this, completely unaware of how close she was to the truth. She talked with Riku often enough but didn't know much about his life outside of the BPD. There were a few detectives like that in the Others Unit, people who didn't want to delve into their personal lives or their past with her and she respected that. Riku was one of them.

Well, that pretty much sealed the deal. This woman was definitely talking about Riku. After all, there weren't many people their age that had white/silver hair. Dread was all Weiss was feeling for a moment. But, as an idea struck her, that dread started to go away, and she saw an opportunity. Maybe, she could ask about Riku, see if he was doing okay. Part of her was concerned about him, after all. As long as she didn't reveal that she was his sister, she could probably get away with it. So, she tossed her hair back, gave a little smile, and said "Wow. That sounds interesting. What's their name?"

"Wait, wait! We're going about this all the wrong way!"
Anna continued to smile up at the young girl and realized that the drinks she had earlier were making her forget simple things like introductions. Obviously the Hurricane she had just finished was the last for the evening, but that didn't mean she had to go home right then and there. After all, the pub was also the perfect social scene and a good place to meet new people.
"I'm Anna Castille, at your service."
She offered a small and playful bow to the young woman before looking up at her and waiting. Her expression was perfectly friendly and warm, the kind of smile that was extremely hard to resist even when you were in a foul mood.

Weiss bit her lip. Introductions, now? Well, at least she knew what the woman's name was. Weiss wasn't sure how to reply when Anna asked her name, though. What if she told Riku that some girl named Weiss was asking questions about him? Her whole cover could be blown. Then again, if Riku ever found out about this, he'd probably know who Anna was talking to just from the description of her alone. What other teenage girl had white hair? She'd have to figure out something later. Right now, she wanted to know what Anna knew about Riku. "Weiss. Nice to meet you," she replied. "Now, who's this friend of yours that looks a lot like me?"

"He's my coworker! Plus I bake him the occasional sweet treat but I do that for everyone down at the BPD! I don't see him all that much unless he's down in the morgue getting the info on a corpse."
Anna gave a little giggle after this, as if seeing someone over a dead body was a perfectly normal thing to do.
"He's a nice enough guy around me at least but I've heard he's real good at being the bad cop when you need it."
Suddenly Anna stared more closely at Weiss, her eyes squinted shut slightly as if she were looking into a very bright light and her whole face a definition in concentration. Suddenly, she spoke as the expression left her face.
"Hey, are you two related? Cause you both have the same light blue irises with a dark blue flaw around the pupil and that only runs in families."

"Wow. Sounds like...quite a guy," Weiss said. That sounded like Riku all over: he was a generally a nice guy, but could get pretty nasty if provoked. Weiss wondered if the morgue was a busy place. She didn't mind dead bodies too much. Really advanced voodoo spells required being around them. She was a little taken aback when Anna looked intently into her eyes, but she soon realized why when the woman asked her if she was related to Riku. It looked like she was pretty observant, despite having a bit to drink. Nobody else would have caught the fact that their eyes were similar. "I don't know if I can answer that," she replied, looking down at her shoes.

"Oh..."
Anna's smile fell as Weiss dropped her gaze down to the floor. It seemed as though she wasn't too eager in revealing if she was related to Riku or not and she decided not to push the question. After all, maybe there was some history between the two of them or they just weren't close.
"Well, he's doing well enough from all I've seen of him. He doesn't come to the morgue much, but when he does he always compliments my rubber duck collection and puts up with my weirder moments."

To Weiss's surprise, Anna didn't ask anymore probing questions. She wasn't sure if she was just being nice or if she was just waiting for the right moment. Either way, Weiss appreciated it. She needed some time to think of some kind of answer. Not even Anna would be satisfied by the lame one she had given earlier. Although she did have to laugh at the thought of a rubber duck collection. "That seems to be a cheerful decoration for a place as morbid as a morgue," she said.

"Of course! Just because I deal with dead and decaying bodies doesn't mean its all doom and gloom!"
Anna decided to follow Weiss' change in topic so as not to make her feel uncomfortable. If she didn't want to discuss Riku, then it was her right to not have to and she wasn't going to try and force the topic on her. That would just be a jerk move.
"Oh, would you like a drink? They have a good selection of non-alcoholic options on hand and its my treat!"
