Chat twirled his tail in hand as he lazed above the empty case at the museum. In the case was his calling card. A note, explaining who he was, shaped like a black cat head with green eyes and white font on the back. The police should arrive at any second. The stolen necklace was coiled around his claws. He examined it. The sparkle and sheen had wowed quite a few people but he didn’t see it the same way. He had tracked down the origins of the jewel. A poor family had been swindled out of the necklace by a rich banker, who used the museum as front for his antiques that he manage to take from people who needed the money. Not that he actually paid the full value of what he managed to talk people out of. No. This man took advantage of the poor. Chat hated that.
He hoped they sent someone interesting. Someone who could chase him. Someone he could lead around to show off these bad guys. Get them caught. Behind bars. Get the stolen goods back where they belonged. In the hands of their rightful owners. Chat already knew how he was giving the family back this necklace. He just had to wait until they went to work and leave it on the wife’s bedside table. He would then watch the house to make sure no one else robbed the place. Yes, that thought gave him a smile, not much unlike the cat that got the cream.

"Chat Noir? I don't know whether to find that original or lazy." Shadow was flipping these all card he and Sunshine found at the museum where the theft of the Siren's Tear - a green jewel said to have been fished form underwater ruins in Greece - as he sped through the roads. Normally jewel theft was something the Others Unit was left out of. But the jewel that was stolen was an Other based business. The com on his wrist, hidden under his inhibitor ring, buzzed. He activated it, answering the call, "Anything?"
Sunshine's answer was a pause. "I've checked the jewelry stalls in Magnolia. Nothing that looks like the lost jewel. You think this is another stunt by Odette?"
"No. If it were Odette, she would have left a different calling card," Shadow answered. He swerved a corner, setting off a hypersensitive car alarm.

Chat peered down from the safety of the rafters. He had height to his advantage. That and cat like reflexes and agility. The shadows hid him quite well, only natural since he wore all black. He almost snorted in indignation when she suggested that he sold it. No. Something like the Siren's Tear was far too valuable to be sold on a simple market. Not that the caretaker of the museum would say that. He got it for pennies on the dollar. The money that should have helped the family pay off their house and medical bills was skimped. They lost their house. The wife was ill and they had a child now. No. This was going right where it belonged, along with directions of who to properly sell it to.

Sunshine listened to Shadow's suggestions with a nod. He hadn't been himself in the past few days. He seemed more stubborn and more rash to get minor cases wrapped up. She hung up, and stiffened at a muffled noise. An indignant snort.
"Who's there?" she called, whipping out her pistol and holding it to the shadows. She showed her demon-headed badge. "Detective Sunshine Seddob, Others Unit. Come out where I can see you!" Deep down, she prayed it wasn't a vampire. Or Thrax, that creepy demon from the ball.

"Oops." Chat chuckled. "Busted."
He held up his hands, though he doubted she could see him from so high up. But the necklace that glimmered in the light, shimmering down on her. He grinned as if she weren't pointing a gun at the darkness. He was fast. He was cute. He was certain he would live. Besides, she wasn't even pointing the gun at him yet. Besides, this was his lucky day. The cop chasing him was pretty cute herself. He was certain he saw her at the ball. The family that brought in the catering. Shame too. He would have loved to have tried something they made but 'Adrien' had appearances to keep up.
"Don't worry, Miss," he assured. "I won't hurt you."

Well, this must be this Chat character who gave them the notice. Otherwise it would have been a big coincidence. She didn't see the person because he was in the shadows, but she did see the distinct shape of the Siren's tear, it's color a shade darker than her own green eyes. He said he wouldn't hurt her, so she lowered the pistol slowly.
"Start talking," Just because she didn't point a gun didn't mean her cop mode was turned off.
"Sundhine, so you read me?" Shadow's voice called from her com, she picked it up, not leaving her eyes off the glint.
"I hear you. I'm here...with Chat Noir."

"So formal," Chat said.
He slank down from his perch, mostly to comply for the most part with Sunshine's orders. His hands remained up, but his stance remained casual. Without the gun, this was almost a normal conversation for the gentleman thief. He had to consider her for a minute. Yang was dubbed Princess. If he met Weiss as his alter ego, it would have been Duchess, for certain. Sunshine wasn't so easy to discern. He would have to come up with a new nickname for her, one that suited her.
"What would you like to know?" he asked.

Sunshine considered her interrogation questions carefully. The suspect was being civil, and that meant no tough actions. But he was holding the jewel, which meant one of two things; he stole it from the actual thief or he was taunting the police with his calling card. Best be basic.
"Care to explain how you got the Siren's Tear?"

"The better question is how did the museum director get his hands on it," Chat replied.
A glass case was little defense against the thief. Getting to the stolen necklace was a piece of cake. He supposed he was lucky he got this officer and not her partner. The other officer wouldn't have given him a chance to talk. He gently eased his hands down, still keeping them where she could see them. He didn't want to scare her. She did have a gun and he didn't feel like testing the Kevlar beneath his suit.
"As for me? I'm distracted by sparkly things. I couldn't help it." He grinned. "You know it would look really good on you! Green brings out your eyes."
He held it up, between his claws. It looked (at least from his perspective) like she was wearing it.

Sunshine shifted her eyes. Okay...so now Chat was trying to butter her up. It wasn't the first time she had been hit on while on the job; of course, when on patrol, it was by people who were drunk or high. One has even groped her behind, which had been responded by a levering down away and a death glare from Sunshine and, naturally, a very annoyed Shadow.
In the present, Chat was holding the green teardrop hanging by oxidated copper, as if he were seeing how she looked. She pffted the comment aside, choosing to answer the question.
"It was fished out of the ocean and ended in some rich man's hand, who decided it needed a home in the museum. How should I know the in between?"

"And that, is where you are wrong." Chat said. "There's a history to this! And the director of the establishment is a no good hustler."
He pulled the necklace away, this time storing it away in a pocket on his side. He was not about to lose his prize yet. If Sunshine wanted it, she was going to have to catch him first. Just by him saying it should entice her curiosity enough to do some digging. If there was one thing Chat knew, it was curiosity. If Sunshine did well with his little tips and clues maybe he could lead her to the bigger fish.
"Enough about him though. Tell me about yourself!" He requested.

"Nice try, pal." Sunshine's eyes began glinting. When that happened, that was a tell-tale sign she was getting angry. Who was this boy to tell her she was wrong? To insult someone who probably had enough lawyers to back him up and throw this person in jail. "You think you're being social, when really you're just irritating me, that's not the smartest move to do with a cop."
She grabbed a handful of her hair. It glowed briefly for a second, lengthening slightly. She tossed it forward and managed to hook it into the pocket where the Siren's Tear was.
"You tell me how this curator's a liar and I'll tell you what it is you want. Otherwise, I'm taking this pocket. It's not like this is the first time someone has tried to steal it."

"I've been the only successful one," Chat replied.
Chat remained still, even as she hooked the pouch at his side. He pressed a hand to the pouch to keep it where it was but made no other moves against her. He wasn't going to let her just take it from him. He had promised that family that he would bring back the precious family heirloom. The necklace was not going to go into police custody so it could sit in some evidence locker. Even if he had a policy to never hit a woman under any circumstance. His kinder nature won out on him when it came to females.
"How about a deal, my lady?" he asked. "I give you proof that this doesn't rightfully belong to the museum and you let me return it to the proper owners."

"Proper owners?"
This question was posed by an arrival that made Sunshine audibly sigh in relief. She felt naked without Shadpw some times. The black hedgehog was walking to stand next to her, his scarlet eyes narrowing. It was one thing to tease a cop, but teasing his partner?
"You said you had proof." Just because he was a cop didn't mean he wasn't closed minded. If this proof was true, then the Siren's Tear didn't belong. "Do you have it..Char Noir, I assume."

Two on one. A bit unfair. Chat felt himself start to pout a little. Of course her partner had to show up. What a shame too. He probably could have gotten Sunshine to relax a little if given just a little more time. She was willing to bet the Siren's Tear that she looked prettier when she smiled. Well, he thought everyone looked better when they smiled, hence the jokes, the playful teasing and the flirting, but that was just him.
"Of course I have proof. I might be a thief but even I have standards." Chat scoffed, no longer as playful now that Shadow was there.
He unwound Sunshine's hair, being careful with it even in his haste to get some distance between them. He leapt back from them, before climbing a display case and returning to the high beams below. Before they could give the chase, he dropped a little black book at Sunshine's feet. It was the director's personal black book. His targets. The poor families with expensive artifacts that he then convinced them to let go for cheap. Not necessarily illegal but it was shady how he turned those for a profit. A lot of the families had been bullied into selling, with threats of loss of job, loss of home and bodily harm. He had promised more, but then in the contracts said that the original owners owed him some sort of fee for doing business, hence a low rate of return. Now that, Chat knew was illegal because some of the signatures were merely photoshopped from one document to another.
