Red took out her map and studied it. The first thing when moving to a new town was always to lock down your mode of business. She was a bounty hunter, and sometimes moonlighted as a dancer for extra money, so the first order of business was to go to the police station and get her license to bounty hunt in this area. And then take a peek into the theater to see if she could grab a place as a dancer of course. Red sauntered down the street and towards the police station in a red tanktop and white mini skirt, and a pair of red high-heels. They matched her hair, and her lips ,which were two shades darker, smiled as people stopped and stared at her as she moved onward. Finally she reached her destination and opened the doors, heading to the first desk she saw. She leaned over with a big smile on her face. “Hiya sug’. I’m hopin you can put me in the direction of the licensing and registration office? I need a lil ole bounty huntin license if you’d be so kind” She batted her baby blues at the officer.

Elsa was leaving the interrogation room. Her silver kitten heels clicked on the floor, and she was thirsty. Talking coldly to the suspect, who in turn had injured an officer, had made her very very thirsty. The offices were to her left. A few desks were empty, and she knew that she had to sit or otherwise she would collaspe. She took a cup from the water cooler and sat down, massaging her foot. All that pacing had done her the deed As she was making a mental note to invest in flats, a new voice called her "sug."
Leaning nearby was a very volumptious woman wearing red and white. Her southern drawl was not uncommon in this town. She must have looked like an officer...with a sparkly suit...and she chuckled.
"I think you have me confused for an actual officer. I was just sitting. But, if you'd like, I can direct you to the registration."

After spending years working in the BPD Others Unit and then opening up his own private investigation business, Ralph had seen any number of unusual and startling things. It came with the territory and the job description. However, when he walked into the BPD offices to speak with Aqua about her case and his brown eyes immediately landed on the figure of a very shapely woman wearing a very small skirt and several different shades of red, he could only stare in utter silence for several moments.
Other then the prostitutes they questioned, he had never seen a woman dressed like this in the BPD before. And it was clear from one look that this woman wasn't some lady of the evening, she was simply too well-groomed and didn't have that air about her. So what was she doing in the BPD?
He might have remained completely silent until the woman left the station except that the person the woman was talking to responded and his eyes moved to them. It was Elsa, having been accidentally identified as someone who worked for the force. The sight of her slightly threw him off as it always did when he was near her. He just simply didn't know how best to act around her anymore ever since their....attempted relationship.
"Elsa? What are you doing here?"
The words left his mouth before he had even stopped to consider if he wanted to talk. Well, no point in trying to take them back now.

Red blinked and then smiled slightly sheepishly. "Sorry darlin. I was thinkin you were an officer or some such. But I would be ever so grateful if y'all directed me to the registration. See, I'm new in town and I'm a bounty hunter and summoner. I need a bounty huntin' license for this area if I'm gonna do my work" she straightened up and straightened her skirt before turning at the sound of someone else, addressing the woman she'd been talking to. Red looked the massive fellow up and down and smiled and stuck her hand out to shake. "Name's Nikki, handsome. But I go by Red. I'm a bounty hunter, new in the area. D'ya work on the force or...?" she definitely needed friends on the force. They were extremely helpful in her line of work.

Elsa' eyes lit up in surprise. This woman's confidence impressed her. Very much so. "I am a lawyer that helps the BPD out, so, I'm usually in and out of the building." Just before she could direct Red, or Nikki, or however the bounty hunter hunter preferred to be called, she recognized that burly voice anywhere.
Gaping at her was Ralph. He was no doubt as flabbergasted as some other people were when they saw her. It didn't surprise her that he was keeping his distance. Not counting the ball when he had walked her home - where they had walked in silence, each one uncertain what to say but just wanting to be in silence after all the noise in the bad outcome - they had never really spoken to each other directly.
'I was just finishing my defense..." But before she could continue, Red had starting introducing herself...rather...openly.

Ralph's eyes had still been on Elsa as she began to speak, but in the next moment the woman in red had stepped forward and introduced herself as Nikki, calling him handsome in the process. His eyes went to her and he blinked, his response somewhat delayed as his mind switched from Elsa to this new woman. He looked down at her hand for a moment before finally wrapping his own massive fingers around hers giving a single shake.
"Uh, Ralph.....and no. I have my own P.I. business."
He didn't know why, but the Giant's eyes flickered back to Elsa and took in her expression, wondering how she would react to this new and sudden arrival. He himself felt somewhat uncomfortable and hot, although he couldn't say why.

She realized she had interrupted and mentally kicked herself. "Oh, I'm sorry, did I get in the way of you two?" she asked as soon as they were done shaking hands. "Sorry. I can...um, where's the registration office? I'll just find that and be on my way" she took a few steps back from Ralph the P.I. and glanced over at Elsa. The last thing she needed was a lawyer as an enemy.

Elsa was stoic the whole time. Red had done nothing wrong. She was just being friendly. Inwardly, she pinched herself. Why be so judgmental? Had she not become a lawyer to defend any client, no matter what? That and her feelings to Ralph were still mixed. She didn't hate the P.I., no far from it..
"How about the three of us go down?" She suggested. "My feet feel better. And we can continue our conversation as a group."
Elsa picked up her cup and blew into it. Ice crisped the paper, which she waded nicely. With a toss, the makeshift snowball swished into a waste bin. The lawyer grinned, punching the air in triumph

Ralph didn't have time to respond to Nikki's question before Elsa had answered and advised they move downstairs so they could continue their conversation. He was about to say that he needed to speak with Aqua and that was the only reason he was at the BPD in the first place, but he thought better of it. Coming from him in his current state, it would most likely sound rude and he didn't want to treat them that way.....especially Elsa.
"Uh, sure, fine."
He then watched her create a snowball and toss it into a distant waste basket. As she pumped the air, he couldn't help but think over what it was about Elsa that still unnerved him. Sure, they had gone on one date, but it hadn't ended badly. It just hadn't ended.....well, good. They had agreed it was better to just be friends, and yet here he was still trying to sort out just what he felt towards the strong and beautiful lawyer.

Red grinned as Elsa turned the paper into a snowball and toss it into a wastebasket. She clapped. "Nice toss there hun" she said and then looked around. "Well, we ain't gonna get the license standin around. Let's get a move on" She felt the old stirring at the back of her mind and tapped her fingers on a chair. Naveen wanted to cross over and come play, but she didn't have time for his antics right now. She began walking towards a hallway and paused. "Erm. Elsa, mebbe you should lead, since you seem to know the way"

Elsa collected her papers. The hestitation Ralph showed wasn't unnoticed. The date they had gone on went downhill...in the worst way a downhill to go. But just because the date went sour didn't mean she felt...conflicted. She walked to the elevator, pressing the down arrow,
"So, Red...where'd you study? Ralph got his P.I. license...you can correct me, Ralph...three years ago."

Nikki seemed eager to get her license but not so much as leave on a hasty goodbye. Instead, she asked for Elsa to lead the way and the cool lawyer gladly obliged, starting to strike up a conversation with the red-haired woman.
Ralph followed behind the two of them but took a moment in answering when Elsa stated that he had gotten his P.I. license three years ago. He nodded his head, his massive hands swinging loosely from side to side as he followed the two of them. No point in staying up stairs when Aqua wasn't around. Hopefully his chat with Elsa and Nikki would take long enough so that next time he checked, the Seelie Faery cop would be in her office. However, he wasn't sure how much of the actual talking he would do.
"Yeah, it'll hit the three year mark in a month. I'll actually have to renew my license pretty soon before I forget."

Red followed Elsa and shrugged at the question. "I lived here till I was nine. Lived on my own a few years. Then I got put in a foster home in Maryland and went and got my fist license there. When I finally got enough money I decided to come back to where my roots were, so to speak" she said, evading the question with a heavily edited version of her life. It did answer the question in a way, but avoided the actual place. Red really didn’t feel like saying. Red turned back to Ralph, who didn’t seem like much of a talker, and smiled at him. “Why don’t you renew it when I get my license? That way we’ll be killin two birds with one stone sug”

"That's...close enough to what I asked." Elsa was lying. It was nowhere near to what she asked. She wanted to hear where Red learned. True, she jumped across the country so it would make sense that she may not remember all much, but I'mhere was one hole; Nobody just came from a family of summoners just to become a bounty hunter. Most of the time, the summons turned the table. The elevator let out a high pitched 'ding', which made her inwardly breathe. The doors opened to the mirrors, red cabin, seeming to wait slash dare them to enter.

"Maybe."
Nikki had a point about him getting his license with her, but at the same time he wasn't sure he wanted to. After all, he had just met the woman and while she was more then friendly, he didn't warm up to strangers at the drop of a hat. Still, he would have to come and get it done before he forgot and left it off until the last minute as he so often did.
As they talked, the elevator opened before them with a gentle ting. However, the Giant didn't make a move to step into the space.
"Sorry, ladies. You'll have to take the elevator by yourselves."
He gave a small shrug and a smile, but inside it only annoyed him. He could remember working at the BPD and how he had always needed to take the stairs, his bulk and weight simply too much for the elevator to handle. Remembering it now didn't really offer him much in the way of nostalgia for the department.
"I'll take the stairs."
He waved his hand slightly before heading towards the stairwell and slowly making his way down the steps. Part of him was annoyed, but another part was secretly happy he wouldn't be crammed into the small space with the two women. Soon enough, he reached the bottom floor and stepped over to the elevator doors, waiting for the arrival of Elsa and Nikki.
