The red-haired young woman had her bow and arrow as she was strolling around the area, as she needed to take a small break from her studies, and luckily, there was no investigation or crimes, so, she decided to go out and shoot for apples. She felt the air blowing from her red hair and started to look around for a tree that would at least have the most fruit on it, since she was in the mood for a small snack. She did have her books with her incase a creature or something suspicious would come up, but, hopefully, that won't be the case at the moment. She then found a tree that did have some green apples on it, and she squinted her eyes as she took an aim with her bow and arrow. She wanted to get a bullseye, so, she had to aim really carefully, and as she took careful aim, she drew back hear arrow with her hand, and she shot the apple with her arrow. "There we are." Meredith thought to herself as she walked to the falling fruit and caught it with her hands. As she was walking towards it, she saw it had some sort of slime on it. "What the.." she thought to herself as she saw that the slime was green, and raised ane eyebrow. This only felt weird, but, also thought that there was a creature in the area who left a mark on it as a sign that it was around. She gazed at the slime carefully, and looked at her book. "Hm, it seems blackish.." she thought to herself as she was looking in her book. She was thinking, and thinking hard as she was turning the pages until there was evidence that could portray to her answer. After a couple of minutes, she saw that the slime was some sort of tar, which was weird. "Why would there be tar on an apple, the apple is not rotten at all.." She said to herself, as she looking at it. Perhaps a crime of some sort happened in the area, and she didn't know about it, maybe she could inform the police about this, but, an investigation over tar being on a fruit would not be be necessary, as it was just tar, and it was not bubbly. "Oh well, at least it wasn't a.." She then heard a noise coming from the bushes and she tilted her head from the book. Was it a creature? The last time she met one was at another of a park, but, meeting another one would not be bad. "Who's there?" She called out, with a tone of determination, ready to greet the mysterious one, whether it was a creature or a human. She got her bow and arrow ready, in case it was a supernatural creature, being ready to attack her on an unexpected moment, at least she was prepared.

Adeline didn't notice that something was up with the trees. All that mattered was that the trunk was smooth enough for her to rest her back against while she read a book. She had found a suitable apple tree within a few minutes of entering the park, and was now curled up with a book about demons in her hand. Thrax wasn't exactly in any books that could be found in the library, but just brushing up on demons in general might be helpful for her. The park was relatively quiet, until a noise got her attention. She looked up to see that it was a girl, maybe a year or so older than she was. She had a bow in her hands, and Adeline realized the noise she had heard was her shooting an arrow at one of the apples. Adeline furrowed her brow. What was the girl doing? She seemed to be looking at the apple pretty intently. Curious, she got up and moved a little closer and peered around another tree, hoping to get a better view. But, it looked like she had made too much noise, as the girl spun around, asking if anyone was there. "Oh, uh, sorry," Adeline said as she stepped out from behind the tree. "I was just...wondering what you were doing."

((Sorry for taking long ^^'))
She was somewhat sensing that there was some young woman seeing on what she was doing, but, yet again, she was not able that she was a witch, or some sort of creature, but, again, she wanted to be safe, as she knew the difference between an ordinary human and a creature, but, yet was trying to concentrate on getting her apple at first, until she found that it had some sort of slime before she was going to eat it. Instead of bringing it to the police right away, she wanted to see it herself and at least do her own research to see on what kind of slime it was. She was scratching her head, making sure that the slime had no creatures being involved with the fruit before eating it. She turned around and saw that the young lady was looking at her and saw her moving closer and got her arrow ready at first, until it was someone that was very harmful and it did seem that she did seem more of the curious type of instead of the dangerous one. She heard her apologize for sneaking up at first and she nodded and put her bow and arrow down and walked toward her with an eyebrow being raised, making sure that she was a supernatural, just to be on the safe side. "Hey, it's fine. I was just doing my hobby which was shooting down an apple, because I was you know, hungry until I found this slime on it. I am a junior researcher, so, I am trying to figure out on what kind of slime this is, really. I know it's a blackish color, so, I was not sure if some creature was here to at least come to this area for a bite to eat or something..." She replied, with a small sigh as she went through her book to see on what she found so far. "It's black goo, so, I assume that some creature was here, so, just trying to detect on what it was.." She exclaimed silently so, no creature could find out that she, herself was in the area, so, she or the other female would not get attacked.

The girl seemed on edge for a moment, but once she saw Adeline wasn't a threat, she quickly explained what she was doing. And it looked like her main investigation right now was figuring out where that slime came from. Adeline looked a little more closely at it. Besides being thick and black, there were no other distinguishing features on it. A number of possibilities could explain what had made it. "Maybe it was a spell gone wrong?" she guessed. That was the first thing that came to her mind. She was a witch. She was bound to think like that. "Maybe someone was trying to make these apples grow bigger, but instead, they covered them with slime instead." When spells went wrong, there were a number of wrong side effects that could happen. And slime could be one of them.

She noticed that the female was looking up straight at her as though she was not a threat, which was thankfully, not a bad thing at all, and thought that she was not that bad herself from the looks of it. However, she wanted to make sure that she was not bad, and from what she could tell and by her listening to what she saying, regarding the whole issue with supernaturals these days, and of course, needed to be cautious on who she was going to meet around the area, especially hearing about the attacks recently that was going on in the area, and although she was not part of the force, she did need to be cautious, as though she was going to be attacked later on, and she needed to be prepared for the worse, incase something did happen. Meredith even noticed that she was looking at the slime of the apple as well, and thought that she did take interest in what was happening with the apple, and even had some idea of a spell that was going somewhat wrong, good theory, and of course, there had to be other possibilities as to how or why the slime went onto the apple in the first place. "Hm, I guess you do have a point.." She said, with a small shrug, and looked up at her with a curious look. As she heard the word, "spell" ringing through her head, she assumed that she was, after all, a witch, and raised an eyebrow as she was hearing the young lady explain a bit more. "An apple growing bigger and then sliming the apple accidentally, I guess you do have a point right there, a good one." She commented, with a small wink, thinking that this girl could bring out some good ideas after all, witch or not, she didn't mind her being around the young junior researcher. She blinked her eyes for a second and thought that having a spell thing on the apple could be a reason why the apple was slimed up. "I have to say, miss. You are pretty good at coming up with some good theories. I guess the first thing that did come to mind was, I guess a supernatural creature bringing an attack or something, but, I guess, the spell could be unintentional." Meredith said, gazing at the girl with a small look and tapped her chin, as though she was quite interested to hear more of her theories. As though she was quite interested in hearing them, after all, she wondered if she was a witch after all. Oh, time for introductions; Meredith raised her arm out to shake her hand, and gave her a small smile. "Oh, I'm, Meredith, Junior Supernatural Researcher. Pleasure." She introduced herself to the young lady, in a way that had manner and proper.

Adeline had really just made a guess, but the girl seemed to think that a spell going wrong could be a high possibility. Heck, she seemed to be pretty on board with the idea. Although she did mention that a supernatural attack could also be the answer to this, and Adeline had to agree with that. "That could have happened too," she murmured to herself. A couple of supernatural creatures could probably shoot slime or something, just like some could shoot fireballs or icicles. Adeline wasn't sure how to figure out what really happened here, besides maybe getting a sample of the slime and having some people look at it. She could make some guesses herself, but she was no professional investigator. Speaking of which, the girl, whose name was Meredith, seemed to be training to be one. Or, more correctly, she was training to be a researcher. Either way, it sounded like a pretty cool occupation. "I'm Adeline. Nice to meet you," she replied.

Feeling that a spell gone wrong from a supernatural creature would be an interesting concept as to why the slime on the apple looked pretty accurate or a mistake, which could be an interesting theory. She looked at the slime again and scratched her head once again, or an attack could be another theory that was stuck in her head, that could be the reason.. the slime did look like kind of blackish. She turned to the other girl who agreed with her with a murmur and nodded along with her. Why would they specifically attack this area in particular, no idea, but, they would of course, go along with killing anyone, and attacking a simple piece of fruit, would of course, be a good start on saying "we were here" or wherever they wanted to attack. As she wanted to make sure that she wanted to track down the right creature, and of course, get the bad one in jail. "Yeah, possibly. I guess the creatures, either wanted something to eat, or just wanted to track its steps here. I need to get this to the lab, you're free to tag along if you want," She offered, as she put the apple in a ziplock bag, to keep it secure and safe, so, others won't be near the apple. She hoped that going to the lab and then jotting down notes would do something justice, besides the book. Sure, looking through the book would be a good source for some good detail, but, not all of it is accurate, as some people think. The young girl did seem to look interested in getting to know her, and she could tell that she wanted to see on what it would be like to be in the junior detective career. She looked up at her, as she heard her introduce herself as "Adeline", and the young red-haired woman nodded. "Pleasure to make your acquaintance, Adeline." She responded, with a small grin, and she started to walk to the lab, with the apple in her bag. "You can be my personal assistant for today, if you want," She said, with a small look of determination. Time to grab the evidence!

"Oh, um, sure. If that's allowed," Adeline said. She had never really seen an investigation lab before. She just hoped she'd be allowed inside. After all, she was just a regular citizen, even if she did have regular dealings with the police when it came to Thrax. She had spoken to them quite a bit after she had first summoned him. Meredith seemed enthusiastic about the idea of Adeline helping, which she figured she might as well do. She could save the book she was reading for later. "Sure. I think I can do that," she said, giving a little smile.

((Like the bonding already!))
As Meredith heard that she could be her assistant, she nodded. "Cool. As for being in the lab, I think we're allowed. I guess I sort of work with the unit since I am a junior supernatural detective. Although I rarely use the lab, I think this will be a perfect opportunity to do so." She responded, with a small chuckle and quickly nudged her arm gently. She thought that going through the lab would not be that bad, as she knew some of the equipment. Even though she could tell that she was a regular citizen, people could have dealt with the police at one point, in either in an investigation, or just hiring for the position. She was not sure of her backstory with the police, but, the red head decided on not to bring it up for now. Being in the lab could be pretty interesting as well, as she never used the equipment before; After all, this could be the perfect opportunity to see on what creature would have caused the slime. She was not completely sure on what creature was around at the the time when causing the small mess, so, why not figure out now than later? She was enthusiastic with her idea indeed as she was almost near the lab. The doors opened and she was looking for a microscope and a computer to work with. She had to be careful with the equipment incase something happened by accident. A couple of seconds later, she found a microscope and thought it could be useful. She then took out the apple and put it under the microscope, and when zooming in, she found the slime bubbling a bit. The red haired young woman scratched her head in suspicion. "That's odd, never seen this before; Adeline.. look at this.." She called out with a gesture, so, she could see the weird slime. She was not sure if the supernatural was powerful enough to splat anything like that across a fruit..

Adeline gave a nod as she followed Meredith to the lab, holding firmly onto her book. Her new friend seemed pretty confident that she could get her in without any trouble. To her surprise, nobody seemed to notice her. Or, if they did, they didn't object to Meredith bringing her in. Adeline hadn't really been in this part of the police station before. In most cases, when she was brought there after having an encounter with Thrax, she was just brought to the front office. It seemed like there was a lot more going on back here. She set her book down as Meredith examined the apple with a microscope and sent a quick text to her parents, saying that she'd be out for a while longer. She was sure they wouldn't mind. Heck, they'd probably be glad to hear about how she had made a new friend, and had even helped out with her investigation. She glanced up as Meredith called her over, apparently confused by what she was seeing. Adeline took a peek inside the microscope and saw that the slime was bubbling. "Yeah, that is weird," she said. It seemed like there was some kind of reaction going on that was causing the smile to bubble. The only problem was, she had no idea what that reaction meant, or what was causing it. She was at a loss as much as Meredith was.
