Anna gave another laugh at Yang's fiery reaction. It was at this point that the waiter seemed to realize that Anna had a guest and came over with a menu and a glass of water.
"Can I get you anything?"
He looked expectantly at Yang as he put the glass of water down. She paused in her laughter and looked at Yang, catching her eye enough to give a small gesture that if she did get anything, she would cover the bill. It only seemed fair after the way Yang had managed to get her mood back to its happy place.

Yang glanced up in surprise when some water and a menu was placed in front of her. She was about to refuse to get something, but she remembered how adamant Anna had been earlier about getting her a Christmas gift. She definitely seemed like the type of person who couldn't be swayed on these types of things. If she didn't get something, Anna would probably insist. Maybe I'll just get something small, she thought. That should be fine, right? "Um..." She glanced at the menu for a second, looking at the list of food before picking something. "I'll just have some of these mozzarella sticks," she said.

"Good choice."
Anna beamed at Yang as she placed her order and the waiter quickly moved away back towards the café. Yang might think it was rude of her to order something on Anna's dollar, but she found it rude to NOT offer something to a friend.
"The mozzarella sticks here are to die for. I...."
However, she didn't have a chance to finish her sentence before a loud jingle began to echo from her back. She quickly looked down at it before pulling out her cellphone, the source from which the cheery song was coming. She flipped it open and looked down at the message on the screen before closing it once more, the happy look on her face suddenly replaced with a much more serious expression.
"Sorry, but I won't be able to stay much longer. Just got a text from the BPD and it's not good."
She began to immediately pile up folders and stuff them into her bag. Once the waiter returned, she would have to pay and head back to the police department immediately.
"We just got a very reliable tip off about Grey Dawn."
She didn't go into detail beyond that, but it wasn't good. According to the message, the tip had come from a former disenchanted Grey Dawn member who had been found by the cops. They had called the BPD themselves and were in the process of dying when the police arrived, riddled with gunshot wounds from the very group they had followed. They had been delirious at that point, but managed to say that Grey Dawn was planning another attack, this one the biggest of all. And it was going to target every Other in the city.

Anna seemed happy enough to order for Yang, but her expression darkened when she got a text. Yang's brow furrowed. She thought a tip-off might have gotten Anna more excited. Maybe the content of the message was a bit grim. Either way though, Yang hoped that this would help bring the case to a close. A lot of people in this city were feeling scared, and capturing this Grey Dawn group might ease their worries a bit. "Hope everything goes well for you guys," she said. True, she wasn't on good terms with most police officers, but she felt like it was still wrong to strip some of these people of their powers and practically take away their identities. People like Sunshine and Shadow certainly didn't deserve this.

"Yeah, me too."
By this point Anna was trying to force all her paperwork into her bag and having some difficulty doing so without squishing Pascal in the process. It was as she gave another push on the piled folders, her tongue stuck out and her face turning slightly pink with the force of her shove, that she accidentally bumped the table and sent her glass of water falling over.
Immediately the liquid splashed everywhere and soaked the table before starting to drip off the sides and puddle on the ground. Some of it even hit Yang despite the young woman sitting on the opposite end of where the glass stood.
"Oh no! I'm so sorry, Yang! I am such a klutz!"
With that, she went from trying to force her files into her purse to trying to soak up the water with a napkin.

Now that a tip-off had been received, Anna seemed to be trying to fit every paper she had into her bag. Yang wondered if it was possible. It seemed like an awful lot. Just when she was about to offer some help, Anna accidentally spilled her drink, sending water flying everywhere. Yang was already brushing it off her pants as Anna started apologizing. "Hey, hey, it's okay," she said, not wanting her friend to add anything else to her growing plate of things to worry about. "I'll get this. You just get your papers together, okay?" She glanced at them before asking "They didn't get wet, did they?"

"No, no, my papers are all fi......"
Suddenly, a strange look came across Anna. Her face, normally so expressive that you could tell how she was feeling from a mile away, had gone strangely blank. It was as if someone had turned her off for just a moment and her brain was trying to reset back to its normal setting. Her blue eyes looked down at the Grey Dawn file in her hands before looking across the space at the empty glass and the spilled water. Her gaze then darted to the surroundings, taking in every source of water in sight from the glasses other guests were sipping from to the fountain that stood only several yards away from where they sat.
In that instant, the young medical examiner realized something.
"The water."
She whispered the words as her eyes continued to dart about before suddenly turning back to Yang and fixating on her. Her face, so calm and blank a moment before seemed to suddenly fill with uncontrollable energy.
"They're gonna put the drug in the water!"

Yang blinked. Anna had suddenly froze, like a deer caught in the headlights. Except she didn't look scared or anything. She just...wasn't there. "Anna? Hello? Anna?" What was going on? And when Anna spoke again, it only added to Yang's confusion. "What?" What did the water have to do with it? However, Anna's next sentence clicked everything into place. If the Sapien drug was put in the water, it'd spread like lightning. Heck, the city had a river in it, plus a bayou not too far away. Water was practically everywhere! Yang's eyes widened at the implication. People could end up getting this drug into their system without even realizing it. "There's...there's gotta be a way to stop it, right?" she asked. If not the police, then somebody somewhere could prevent this from happening.

"I gotta get back to the station, NOW!" Anna's who persona had changed in the blink of an eye. A moment before she had been somewhat subdued compared to her normal self, but now her whole frame positively shook with the amount of energy she felt. With a final push, she managed to force the papers down into her bag and closed the top. At the same time, she reached into her pocket and threw down a stack of bills without looking at if it was the proper amount or not.
"Thanks, Yang! You just gave me the big answer I need to help the BPD solve this terrorist attack! I owe you one big time!"
With that, she grabbed Yang's hand and shoved several more bills into her palm before quickly turning and taking off down the street, her bag swinging wildly from her arm as she headed back to the BPD. It was as she disappeared down the sidewalk that the waiter returned with Yang's order and looked around in confusion.
"Excuse me, but can you tell me where the young woman sitting with you went?"

Yang jumped. Anna was moving frantically now. It was for a good reason of course, but the speed of her movements was still a bit startling. Within a minute, she had gotten the rest of her papers, laid some money out for the waitress, and shoved some bills into Yang's hand before she could even blink. "Hey, wait!" Yang called after her. She wasn't sure if she should accept money just like that. She felt like she didn't really do much. Anna was the one who had had the eureka moment. But, she had taken off like a shot and was already half-way down the block. Yang sighed. It looked like nothing was about to stop her now. The waitress returned at that point though, and she was soon looking pretty perplexed as well. "Let's just say, she got a big break in the case," Yang replied, giving a smile in the hopes that that would ease the waitress's worries. She spotted the plate of mozzarella sticks in her hand and said "Ooo, thanks," before munching on them. She figured the best thing she could do was hope that Anna and the other officers could stop the Grey Dawn before they could put their plan into effect. In the meantime though, Yang made a mental note to stock up on some bottled water, just to be on the safe side.
