Omar kept hold of Shadow till he was able to stand on his own and let go slowly, still hovering close by just in case it happened again. He nodded towards the cafe. "Let's sit down if you have a minute. You still look woozy on your feet and I don't mind listening to long stories. May not necessarily have a right to know, don't know you super well, but I figure you should talk to someone. 'Sides, who'd I really tell? I'm not the most lovable guy in the world ya know so" he shrugged.

The hesitation to talk came up. A sit down was needed, especially with Shadow's head still partially spinning. He had never had a memory of Maria come with it being so negative. She had looked so sick in that memory. Was he looking after her because she was that bad? Was she killed by the government to put her out of her misery? A bit extreme, especially in the memory before the shooting, she looked relatively healthy.
He nodded solemnly to Omar, settling down. He did not want to give the full scenario regarding Maria, so he stuck to the bare bones.
"Long story short, I can't remember anything about myself before the Black Wars. You had to witness the unpleasantness of when a memory decides to plant itself back into my mind."

They sat down and Omar waited. He got what was pretty obviously the bullet point notes of the situation but he nodded. "Memory loss. It is known to happen. Specially among immortals. The newest memory musta been a doozy, you're all shook up lookin" he looked around and sighed. "You wanna talk about what you do remember? I've got a few hours. It looks like it's still pretty big in your mind"

Immortal...Shadow's red eyes lit up. That word clicked something that wasn't a memory relapse, per se, but something else. It was a voice he somewhat placed in his head. It was the voice of an elderly man, perhaps beyond sixties and going into seventies. The waveriness showed the age. But somehow, Shadow could hear the speaker, and listened as if he were near the bench where he and Omar sat.
"Shadow...something else flows in you that isn't chaos...it is immortality."
Shadow shook hsi head away from the voice, He needed to talk to Omar. Knowing trolls, they were exceptionally stubborn and would do anything to get answers. Granted, Omar wasn't the type to attack just to get answers from a stranger, but he was the type who had a soft heart beneath the gruffness, which was something the homunculus cop could relate to. Like he said, he had a few hours, and so did Shadow. Also, something else stuck out, and that was Omar not once had lied to him. Trust was not easily won by Shadow, but ever time they spoke, Omar told the truth. With a reluctant sigh, Shadow started from the beginning;
"I remember this girl, Maria. She was twelve years old, sick with some kind of illness that kept her inside. We were friends. But then...then the government sent troops on a raid of the place and she was killed in the process. She kept telling me to promise her something...and that's the biggest chunk of my memory thats consistent."
The rest was all up for debate. Was the old man ho called himself professor connected to Maria? Were they related? Then there were the two demon pieces of the puzzle...Pitch...and the shaded figure known as Disparion who forced Shadow to infiltrate a hold containing creatures that shared his red and black coloration.
