"Your mailbox then," Elsa decided out loud.
No need to pressure him into it involving a stranger in his holidays. After all, wasn't the saying 'thought that counts'? Besides, Adrien's idea of a soup kitchen was promising. He mentioned a disguise, and she arched her brow discretely. After the paparazzi incident, she was sure he needed a disguise to sneak past them.

"How about Christmas Eve?" he suggested. "Nothing big then, right? We could try to make cookies together."
He hadn't tried his hand at baking since his mother disappeared. But if it was with a friend, it should be fun, right? Being around someone might actually bring him out of his little funk since he couldn't go visiting Yang right now. He had even considered hanging up his mask or turning himself over to Shadow and Sunshine, but that would only cause problems really... But still, hanging up his mask was something he had given full thought to.

Christmas Eve? Not a bad thought. There wouldn't be as ma any folks hounding her or Adrien for an exclusive interview. That and age could spend some time with Jenna and Ella. Part of her wanted to invite Weiss over, but knew seperated an already divided family would be cruel. The only other person she wanted to see was Ralph. There. That gave her plenty to do
"...All right," she agreed. "Christmas Eve baking it is."

"A-Ah, sorry if that's too bold. I don't mean to make assumptions that you don't have plans for Christmas Eve." he said hurriedly.
If there was one thing that Adrien lacked, it was Chat Noir's natural boldness and confidence. He certainly didn't want to force Elsa to be around him if she didn't want to. Maybe she was only agreeing to be nice. Making someone spend time somewhere they didn't want to was almost as being alone. He knew from personal experience. Adrien was as different from Chat Noir as could be. Chat had friends. Adrien had no one that he could call on. Sure he had Weiss, maybe Elsa now, but they had obligations and things they had to do.
"If something comes up, you don't have to come. It was just an idea."

Elsa held up a hand. "Oh, no, it's fine. The only plans I have that night are dinner with myself and..."
She paused. Jenna didn't want her to give anything away, so to call her a roommate would just be rude. Nicer than calling her a "pet", which was an insult to hearthounds in general. Ella was taking the week's off to spend time with her family. She flipped her braid, a melancholy sigh escaping her mouth.
"...and an empty house."

"Don't you have a friend or someone?" Adrien asked in surprise.
Someone as nice as her alone around the holidays was heartbreaking. She was truly and honestly a good person. She did so much for the city it really was a wonder she wouldn't be around the people who cares about her. Maybe he would have to make an exception for his rules. Chat Noir could visit her since 'Adrien' declined. He would have thought someone like her to at least have a close friend who wanted to see her.

Elsa hesitated before answering. It was a careful decision she had to make. Could she give clients names despite her being open to them? Yes, she invited the duo of Shadow and Sunshine over for brunch every Sunday, but the terms of friendship were sort of blurred. She was closer to Sunshine, and even then, 'friend' was a bit of a stretch. "Well, Weiss is more like a younger sister than she is a friend," she answered. "Two cops in the Others Unit and I have brunch every Sunday...so I suppose you could call them friends, but they already have plans...Sunshine with her family and Shadow with two other cops he calls friends."
And then there was Ralph...
Ralph and her were in such a limbo right now it wasn't even funny. They bickered like a couple who had divorced, but not out of mean spiritedness. It was all because of a sour date and, well, then he had saved her life that night. He had said the word 'love', and said it was easier to be angry than love someone you couldn't reach. Was he really viewing himself that way? Just so beneath her? It crushed her heart every time she pictured the sadness in her eyes.

"I have people I want to see..." Adrien admitted. "But I... did something stupid and they probably don't want to see me."
As close as Adrien would ever come to admitting anything Chat did. It was vague. Enough so that there still wouldn't be any connection. Could refer to his father or a certain blonde that plagued his every action. Everything he did as the thief now circled her. He wanted to protect her, keep her safe, but he hurt her by leaving her. Even if it might help make her less of a target for Cinder. But he knew the familiar sort of longing on Elsa's face. Someone she wanted to be around but couldn't.
"Maybe your friends will see you after Christmas or New Years?" He suggested. "New Years is a pretty big holiday too."

Elsa arched her eyebrow in Adrien's direction, but didn't ask any questions. She knew the sorrow in his voice well. Fir someone as young as he, getting close to someone only to find they didn't want to see you hurt. Or was it by his own choice? Regardless, it was none of her business. At least he somewhat understood.
"You know, we do have new years' plans," she said. "The Seddons, you know the owners of Nevermore, are hosting a get-together."
This year dying was something everyone was looking forward to. Things had gone to crap. On the one hand the La Llorona killer had been caught and the prison designed for the Other Units' rogue gallery had been completed, but in the other hand the weight of crime had increased, making the city harder to live in than it had been. The Black Wars still lingered in some minds, as did new threats such as Thrax, the demon who had crashed the masquerade.

"Yeah?" He asked softly. "That's good."
Maybe he should head home. All this talk of the holidays were only bringing him down. He didn't know if he helped Elsa or not. She helped him at least get away from the media. He maybe had Weiss to count as a friend but she was going to be with her family. They were already having a hard time since it would be the first year without their oldest child. Chat couldn't pull anyone away just because he was a common criminal. He shook his head.
"Sounds like you'll have fun!" He said, happily for her.

"If you have nothing to do that day, you should join us," Elsa offered.
The Seddons were a family that needed to be met to be believed. They never judged anyone by what race they were or how much money someone made. If someone was picking on anyone in Nevermore, they were asked never to return; it also helped when the baker also happened to be a cop. Specifically an Other Units cop.

"I appreciate the offer, but I'm sure I'll have a shoot scheduled that day." he said.
His father barely ever gave him a break, but more importantly, he couldn't be around Sunshine. Less she put two and two together and figure out that Chat Noir and Adrien Agreste weren't as different as they seemed. He also didn't want to impose. Ironic that he actually make friends but couldn't spend time with them. Secret identities were so difficult to manage. Especially since he had appearances to keep as an Agreste. It was all so complicated. He didn't have Shadow or Sunshine's word they wouldn't try to arrest him. He did steal from people after all.

Elsa's face fell. "Oh, that's disappointing." They glittered mischievously. If he couldn't come, then maybe she'd bring something festive to it. Sweets were out of the question since people would be muttering about fats and pounds and all the silliness models or clientelle, depending, complained about. "We'll just slip a skinny drink 'accidentally'" her air quotes made tiny little snow flurries that popped like fireworks, then disappated in the humidity.

"Skinny drink?" Adrien asked.
The term was new to him. If he were honest, the first thing that came to mind was a diet drink or one of those beverages that claimed to be a healthy meal in a can. He could blame his father for the 'sheltered' life he lived. If it wasn't the best money could buy Adrien didn't have it. His father did enjoy showing off that they had the best of the best after all. Adrien took more after his mother than his father, but it would surprise anyone who met the duo. Adrien and his mother enjoyed supporting small companies, mom and pop shops, donating their time and money. His father was all about the bottom dollar. Makes Adrien wonder if his mother hadn't left on purpose instead of just disappearing.

"Basically has all the flavor of something that would appall the modeling crowd, but does nothing for your bpdy," Elsa answered. She teasingly makde a motion with her hips to emphasize the 'model body.
How was it possible that someone who had been raised in such a strict regime of dieting didn't know about 'skinny drinks'? The whole makeup of the percentage of people in the Lieu Sanglate 'community' always complained about calorie counting. Elsa was one of the few who didn't care. You could try and remove the fat from an avocado, but it wouldn't matter if it didn't taste good at all. But at the same time, maybe she was being to hard on Adrien. Sheltered lifes could leave people wanting a bit of...adventure.
