"You mean well," Elsa held up a hand politely. "and once, I thought I could. But I cannot. I can make ice solid and liquid, and that's the extent of my powers. I cannot maneuver the liquid." And even if she did, what use could she have with it? With ice and snow she could keep her office and people around her much more level headed. And consdering the amount of people with literal hot heads...it was worth a shot.

"Maybe it's not for everyone," Aqua agreed. "When did you learn you could control ice? I was around ten or so." Right before her parents' car accident. They had been so proud of her abilities, told her they loved her no matter what she could do, especially when she had grown afraid of the extent. She still had lapses of control, when she got overly distressed where things either froze or water boiled.

Elsa tapped her lip. How long had it been when she was a little girl, realizing she had "magic", as she dubbed it as a child. Her parents had been estranged by the color of her hair, but the docotrs reassured them it was nothing to be worried about. But then when Elsa threw a tantrum and froze the living room, they realized what was going on. She was then taught to control her abilities, which became useful. "I was...eight when I discovered my abilities. My parents took it upon themselves to find classes for me to learn how to control them. It came in handy."

"It's still a lot to take in, you know? Magic. Supernatural abilities. Powers." Aqua mused. "All I knew was that one day, things were different. I was different." While she didn't have her parents around to help her through the harder parts of coming into her powers, some of the the other kids at the orphanage had tried to help, even though they had issues of their own, but after a while, the human kids stopped understanding. Only the gifted ones understood what it was like to be biologically different.

Elsa nodded in understanding. Becoming different at a young age was hard. Especially at the age of ten, when you were nearing your teenage years and wanted things to go the way you wanted them too. "Well, here you are now, turning things around for the better of Bellerouge."

Now Aqua laughed. She had faced plenty of trials just getting to where she was, but not one second would make her change becoming a police officer. Protecting. Serving. Changing the world one little bit at a time, it was the right thing to do. "I try my best." Aqua said. "And I'll do my best to keep off your case load. I wouldn't want to cause you any problems!"

"Oh, it's not your doing that gets you on the case load," Elsa shuffled her folder to keep one paper from falling. She was telling a three-quarter's truth. "Besides, defending the Other police is my job. I just I had a client with your temperament. You and Detective Seddon would get along, she's just as eager to please as you are." Yes, Sunshine lived up to her name, or nickname as her file had shown, and wherever that blonde cop went, she spread smiles - even to her stoic partner Shadow.

"I look forward to meeting her if that's true." Aqua replied. She had stayed away from a lot of the other cops, mostly because they had been paired off already and didn't want to get in the way, but also because she was still coming to terms with what her own partner had done. It had been a slow process, but she was just getting to a spot where she was okay. "You seem to have your hands full," Aqua added, in regards to the papers that were slipping.

Elsa was fixing the files in her folder. The paper clip was slipping on one side, and she had to made sure nothing fell out, especially the receipt for the window the client had paid for. "Some clients are easier than others," she shrugged, finished the rustling. "This one is a bit edgy. But I'm sure once they see Queenie Raven didn't mean any..." then she realized she made a huge mistake; accidentally spilling the name of her client. "Let's just say you may meet her in the office, too, before she gets deported to another city. We wanted to finish this case before she moved."

Aqua reached over, and without taking the documents from Elsa's hands, she shifted the folder back so that it's contents were safely secured inside. "Careful there. Can't go losing something like that." Aqua said kindly. She noticed the slight slip up, mentioning a name. But Aqua just nodded. It was probably just a slip of the tongue and Aqua wasn't going to start anything by pointing it out. "I see. Thanks for letting me know."

Well, thank goodness Aqua wasn't the type of cop to rat out a simple mistake. Yes, these two were going to become more than acquaintances sitting down to coffee and getting to know each other. "Well, thank you for catching any runaway files. If I can't find any of the faster runners, I'll be keeping an eye out for you."

"All in a day's work, ma'am," Aqua said teasingly. "If there is anything i can help you with in the future, don't hesitate to ask. I'd be more than happy to help." It wasn't just because she was Seelie either. She sincerely wanted to help Elsa any way she could. The blond seemed like a good and honest person, the type of person Aqua got along with.

Elsa smiled. "You and several other cops. I'd talk more about my work, but a lot of this," she tapped her folder before putting it into her silver book bag to avoid it getting ruined or shuffled, "is strictly confidential. So...anyways, we've still got time before my meeting, how would you use yur hydrokinesis in a police situation?" Would Aqua blast a water hydrant to disorient a fleeing criminal? Dilute bloodstains to get to the lab?

"I understand. We wouldn't want you to get into any trouble with your bosses," Aqua said. "Well, I... Try to avoid using my powers if I can. People could claim I roughed them up a little more than necessary if I did. But it's not my fault if they slip on a bit of ice when they try to run away, is it?" She gave Elsa a sheepish smile. "Cops with powers... On top of a badge? Can't let that go to our heads."

Elsa tucked a platinum blonde strand behind her ear with a nod. One good thing about ice when a cop who could make it thaw was around? No liability charges, and no complaints about bad weather. Especially since it hardly ever snowed in Bellerouge, not counting in the court cases where a frustrated Elsa made it snow. "Well, you and several cops are good at not letting your egos get in the way of your work. I've seen some others use their heritage as an excuse to break the law."
