It had been a long day. Aqua had unfortunately drawn the short straw and had been stuck on desk duty. Might have had something to do with her lack of a partner and the chief's fear that she would get in over her head without backup. Hence why there were partner teams walking around the precinct. Her partner or rather lack of one was a sore spot for the former rookie. She got up from her desk and headed outside to one of the food kiosks to get something. The paperwork wasn't going to do itself and she needed a pick me up.

It was going to be a long wait until the accused victim was coming from the far side of town. Elsa parked her ice blue car at the guest section of the station and walked in, carrying her case files. The Nevermore kiosk was to the left around the corner, and she figured sipping a drink while reviewing the supposed complaints the victim's family had about the police wouldn't hurt. She tucked a strand of her platinum blonde hair back into her coiffed bun, waiting for the blue haired girl in front of her to order.

Aqua placed her order finding she was more in a tea mood than coffee since that would keep her up all night but when she went to pay, she reached for her wallet and accidentally nudged the person behind her. The blue hair woman hastily handed over the cash and turned around. "Oh! Excuse me." She said swiftly. "Are you okay?"

Tea went flying from the nudge the blue haired girl accidentally gave Elsa. Normally, it would have resulted in a spill, but with Else, the small drops went flying and became tiny drops of golden brown ice. Even better, the case files didn't even get a drop based on holds. "Oh, I owe you an apology as well. I shouldn't have been standing so close. Besides, no use in getting upset over spilled tea." She cleared her throat and placed an order, "One vanilla iced coffee, please."

Aqua had been pleasantly surprised by the water manipulation which hadn't been under her control. A warmth of delight spread through her. Someone with the same abilities as her... It was absolutely wonderful. She stepped to the side, holding the frozen tea (or what was left of it). "Please, allow me." Aqua said as she went for her wallet, a little more carefully this time as to not spill her drink or hit the blonde again. "This one is my treat." She placed the money down on the counter before the woman could protest.

"...Well then. I guess that deems us even," the "ice queen" lawyer blinked her blue eyes owlishly. This young lady was awfully enthusiastic all of the sudden. Here they were getting iced drinks, and she didn;t even need to open her wallet. But at least this girl was showing signs of responsibility.

Aqua had to smile. Not that the other woman would know, but Aqua had to make it up to her. It was apart of her very being to do something 'good' for someone who had done something 'good'. Unfortunately, this also connected to her wallet from time to time and it was hard to do monetary compensation on an officer's salary. But she found other ways around her 'genetic predisposition' as a Seelie Faery so to speak. "Don't worry about it, miss." She replied but then realized she didn't know her and didn't give her own name. "I'm Aqua by the way."

Elsa's smile broadened. It was refreshing to see some kindness in this city, especially in times like this. The Black War may have ended, but the scars still remained. She extended a hand for a shake from Aqua, "Elsa Crispin, the police's attorney here in Bellerouge."

"Ah, seems like we'll be seeing each other more in the future then," Aqua said. "I'm with the BPD." She glanced down at her paper cup of frozen tea. She inhaled slowly and the ice began to thaw and heat up to a tolerable (drinkable) temperature. "I'll probably send you a case or two at some point." That was once she got off desk duty. But for that, she needed a partner, but Aqua was in no hurry to get one.

Elsa laughed. Oh, so Aqua was a member of her defendants. This was good to know in case she got in trouble. "Well, only if people say you caused damage. I don't get involved unless people start pointing fingers at the Others Unit. Do we sue a dog because it keeps barking? No."

"Yes, well I try to keep my nose clean." Aqua said sheepishly. "But trouble has a way of finding me." Like her rotten partner but Aqua skirted past that subject and hopefully, Elsa either knew and would decide not to ask, or she was blissfully unaware of Aqua's last partner. "Besides, I'm a Seelie Faery. I do good, not bad. If I were Unseelie, that would be another story."

"We had an Unseelie in the department three years ago," Elsa nodded. "but due to her misanthropic behavior to not just her colleagues, but to superiors. Even I couldn't defend her." Having a Seelie in the department would be a welcome change of pace. They were much kinder, much more eager to help. "Oh, here, let's get this thawed out," Elsa took a breath and lifted her hand over Aqua's tea. Frost twinkled and crumbled at the beckoned call before dispersing into nothing, leaving behind liquid and not just a brown block. "But I supposed your magic helkped me there, too."

"Yeah," Aqua said a bit sheepishly, since technically Unseelie or not, the woman had been one of her kind. She had heard of the woman. Aqua could only feel pity for the faery who thought it was better to hate the world than try to help it. "We didn't exactly have it easy when all this started happening, you know. While I don't agree with her, I can't exactly blame her too much either." Aqua smiled as her tea was heated back up. "Faeries have an affinity for one element. Mine just happens to be water."

"Others never had it easy thanks to the Black Wars," Elsa sighed. The Black Wars was what brought Others into the world, some good, some bad, and then the unidentified creatures that went either way. Her lips twitched when Aqua spoke about Seelies and elemental connections they had. Officer Korra would have to meet this rookie, maybe learn a thing or two about water control since she relied so heavily on fire. "Well no wonder we're connecting so well. Ice is technically a branch of water."

"I know," Aqua said kindly. She had her fair share of trials getting where she was. It was the reason she was never adopted. Who wanted a child that could be burned by iron and without magic, looked different? The Black Wars was a sensitive subject for those who lived through it. Aqua knew that one all too well. "Water and ice aren't far apart. I'm sure you could control water if you felt like it. It's not that hard for me to change ice to water or vice versa."
