"You're in no state to go after him like this." Chat said.
It was the nicest way he could think of saying that Shadow would only get in the way with his injuries. Even if he was the fastest of any of them, the exertion alone would make him bleed out before he got anywhere. And after all the heartache that Shadow put Sunshine through with his disappearing act, that would be very rude of him to do, or so Chat thought. Still, Chat was no better. He shook his head almost fondly. They had bigger more important things to worry about. Like Thrax.
"You're under house arrest for now, buddy." Chat added. "Let Sunshine take care of you."

As Shadow began to speak, Anna’s blue eyes trailed down to his shoulder where one of his hands was pressed. Immediately she felt her joy at seeing him turn into shock and worry laced with fear. Blood was welling up under his palm and pattering to the ground at an alarming rate, his face set into a grimace of pain as he spoke. She had more than enough experience examining bodies to know that at the rate he was losing blood, Shadow could die. This thought alone finally snapped her out of her paralyzed shock.
“Oh fudge!”
Anna was one step behind Sunshine when she rushed up to the homunculus. Immediately she reached into one of her pockets and pulled out a green cloth band she sometimes used to tie back her hair while at crime scenes. Despite Sunshine already having bound the wound with her hair, blood was still welling up from beneath the makeshift tourniquet. Anna wrapped the cloth into a square before placing it over Sunshine’s now bloodstained tresses. “We have to keep as much pressure on this wound as possible!”
Anna’s voice in that moment didn’t sound anything like her usual self. It seemed to have grown deeper, more commanding, and it was dead serious. It was as if a stranger were speaking from the young, eccentric, perpetually happy medical examiner. Without looking up from where she was pressing against the wound, Anna spoke to the others. “If any of you have a cell phone, get on it now and call an ambulance! Sunshine, do you think your hair is strong enough to heal a wound this bad?”

Omar kneeled by Shadow and held onto him to keep him steady. "Let the healer heal you before you go do something noble friend. I'd be very upset to see you die. I'd probably have to do something drastic to bring you back" Trade his immortality for Shadow's life came to mind. And he wasn't even slightly joking, he was dead serious. He would do everything in his power to trade his immortality for Shadow if it all came down to it. He'd do that for anyone he considered a friend or loved one.

Shadow's breath was easing at Sunshine's touch. She may have soaking his blood through her hair, but he concentrated less on the macabre and more on the kind, innocent green eyes of his partner. He was expecting to see anything that wasn't care. He saw fear, but not of him. It was fear for his safety. If anything, that was the worst fear. He didn't deserve this. He didn't deserve Omar mothering him, he didn't deserve an offer to save his damned life, he just wanted all of them to be safe for now.
"DOn't bother," he huffed.
Sunshine dropped her blood soaked hair. She had never had shadow refuse a healing. She cast her eyes down, pulling out her phone. If he was too shaken to accept help from her, it was time to take measures. She called 911, reporting the incident slowly.
All that became noise to Shadow. His red eyes cast over to the gravestone. THE white lily lay down. HE could almost see the girl flrcing a weak smile. He said one last thing before the ambulance put him in.
"Maria...I promised you...didn't I?" ((End thread))
