Yang wouldn't go so far as to say things were getting worse, but they weren't exactly getting better either. Really, the only thing that was changing was her leaving the house a little more often than she used to. But it wasn't much, and this often made her doctors frown. They kept insisting that spending time with her friends would help her feel better. Yang was about to take their advice and smack them with it if she heard it one more time. They just didn't understand. Nobody did. And that often made hanging out with others awkward. Still, ever since Jane had mentioned her dad during their last visit, Yang expected him to drop by sometime soon. Sure, they talked on the phone sometimes or texted each other every once in a while, but they hadn't seen each other face to face in a while. At the moment, Yang was on her phone, watching a video on how to tie a ponytail with just one hand. She'd been practicing it over the last few days, but still hadn't gotten the hang of it yet, which was why her hair was down, as it had been since the day she had lost her arm. Styling hair with one hand wasn't exactly an easy thing, and Yang felt like it was something that could take up a lot of her time. Any distractions at this point were welcome.

Omar walked up to Yang's apartment with his guitar slung on his back and his arms full of groceries and sweets and a balloon. He figured it was warranted with all the time not spent with Yang, especially when she really needed him. He'd just been really busy as of late. What with Namine and Aqua and Jane, he had a bit on his plate. Barely any time to do his hobbies and really less time to spend with friends. Maybe that wasn't a good excuse but it was all he had. He juggled some things around as he approached her door and knocked. "Yo, Yang! It's Omar! Jane probably told you I'd be coming over? Open the door kiddo! I got my hands full!"

Yang looked up at the knock at the door, and smiled a little when she heard Omar's voice. She was a little curious as to what he brought that could have his arms so full. She soon got her answer when she opened the door, and could barely see Omar's face behind the groceries, sweets, and balloon he had in his hands. She was surprised, but then again, this was Omar. Maybe she should have expected this. She gave a little laugh as she said "If I didn't know any better, I'd say you were headed to a birthday party or something," she said. Maybe not the groceries so much, but the sweets and balloon seemed pretty peppy, considering the reason Omar was here in the first place.

Omar grinned above the stuff in his arms at Yang. "It's a 'feel better' party. And a 'welcome to your new place' party. You totally need some cheering up, from the look on your face and from the stuff Jane mentioned" when she allowed it, he squeezed into her apartment with all his gifts and set them down on the counter. He took the balloon, a pastel colored orange, blue and red colored marbled balloon and held it out to her. "They called it a 'phoenix marble balloon' he said with a grin. "I figured it was fitting" He gestured to all the food on the table. "I made half of them and bought half of them from Sunshine's bakery. I've given them some of their recipes over the years and asked for some of those old recipes specially. Because they make it better than I can" he chuckled to himself. "I also got you groceries because I doubt you've been out much" he glanced over and noticed her down hair and the scrunchie on her wrist. "You need help Yang? I can show you how to do that one handed" Being a dad of two little ones once upon a time he'd gotten pretty good at doing up hair one handed. Whether on himself or on Jane. He started walking towards her with a hand out, gesturing for her to give him the scrunchie.

Yang almost felt guilty at all the stuff Omar brought. It seemed like so much for one person. She knew he meant well, as did the rest of her friends. But she felt like all this attention just reminded her of how little progress she had made. If her friends felt like they still needed to do stuff like this, then they were obviously still worried about her, and that wasn't good, in her mind. She felt like she should be doing better by this point. She glanced at the balloon in her hand, wondering if she should say what was on her mind or try to act a little perky for now. It wasn't that she was ungrateful for all the stuff she had gotten, far from it. She just felt like she was getting an awful lot for someone who couldn't give much in return. "This is...so much. I don't know what to say," she said, any earlier thoughts of tying her hair into a ponytail forgotten.

He shrugged. "Say nothing. This is an apology for not being with you in the hospital, if we're honest" His hand clenched slightly. "It just scared me for a while. I got flashbacks of...of past friends who got injured when I wasn't there and it was hard. But I'm here now and I'm going to help you any way I can" he shot her a grin. "I want you to feel alright" he wanted the old Yang who would have made jokes about him giving her lots of gifts and practically treating her like a daughter or little kid. "I consider you one of my girls, Yang. You deserve more attention than I've been giving and I'm sorry" hopefully this would be remedied in the future.

"No, it's fine, really," Yang said, not wanting Omar to feel guilty. It wasn't like she had been alone too much. Her friends were looking out for her, especially Adrien. Besides, the last thing she wanted was to become some sort of burden. That was one of the many fears that lurked in the back of her mind. She knew it was unrealistic to think that she could have gotten by without any help at all. Getting used to having one arm was a long process. But she couldn't accept everyone's charity forever. She had to become independent sometime, even though she wasn't sure if she wanted to work at a bakery for the rest of her life. Sunshine was still adamant about taking time to heal before she came back to work, and Riku was still shelling out money for her. "It's not like I've been out here all by myself. A lot of people have been helping out."

Omar shrugged. "But I haven't been, and I'm sorry" he looked around. "Nice place, by the way. Homey" he chuckled and gestured for her to sit as he picked up one of his cakes and looked around for a knife to cut it with. "You're not going to be alright for a long time" he told her conversationally. "I'm not trying to pressure you to feel better when you can't. This is for me as much as it's for you. I'm just here for you to rant to and cry on if you need it. Because everyone needs it sooner or later" He cut the cake and searched for the plates. Once he found them he put two pieces on the plates and carried them over to Yang. "I'm here to talk Yang" she was one of his girls.

"You can thank Riku for that. He knows a thing or two about interior decorating," Yang said. "I didn't know what to fill some of this empty space with." She had once considered going out and getting stuff that suited her taste once she had some money, but that was way at the bottom of the list now. She had other stuff to focus on. As she sat down at the nearby kitchen table, Omar cut her slice of cake and mentioned how he was basically here to listen and she could say whatever came to mind. As he set the plate in front of her, she gave a sigh. "I'm not sure what else there is to talk about that hasn't already been said," she said, poking at the cake with her fork. All her friends pretty much knew her situation. She had to get adjusted to using one arm. She had some PTSD mixed with depression and paranoia. Nightmares were still prominent, as well as getting triggered by things such as crowds, loud noises, and any situation that resembled fighting. She felt like she could only talk about stuff like that for so long until it became a bore to those around her, especially if she wasn't getting any better.

"Riku...the giant pale-haired guy? Ex-heir of the LaFayettes?" He chuckled and shook his head. "I met the sister. Girl got some darkness going on in her life. Shut me out completely. Poor thing" He shrugged and sat down across from her. "So say it again. I'm not going to get tired of it easily" his green eyes shone. "I'm over seven centuries old, I have a really long patience span" he told her and smiled. Keep talking and eventually the pain isn't so painful. You talked it all out. I never lost an arm, but I have lost loved ones. I know how that feels, and PTSD" his eyes darkened slightly. "I've seen some things"

Yang nodded. "Yup. That's the one." She was surprised to hear that Omar had met his sister. Really, Yang didn't know that much about Weiss. The girl had saved her life, but Yang hadn't really seen her face-to-face. She had left the hospital before she could talk to her, and getting a hold of her wasn't exactly easy. She was a LaFayette after all, and it wasn't like Riku could get in contact with her. In the end, Yang had just sent her a letter and hoped for the best. She was grateful for what she had done, and had expressed as much. And if she shut someone out like Omar, who made friends pretty easily, then Yang doubted her relationship with the girl would go any further than that. As Omar talked though, Yang realized that in a way, he could relate to what she was going through. For the longest time, he thought he had lost his entire family. Even now, with his daughter back, he still had to deal with the loss of his wife and son. And, like Yang's arm, they could never come back. "It just feels like...things aren't really getting better," she said. "I mean, it's like I've hit a roadblock and...I don't now how to get past it."

"Seems a bit nicer than his sister. Or at the very least less reserved and frosty" He chuckled and then got serious. "Yea, it's gonna feel like that. Like things aren't getting better, or that you're stuck in one spot. Like everyone expects you to be happy and you aren't yet. Like the world is pressuring you to be fine again, and nothing is ever going to be 'fine' again" He shook his head. "What you gotta do is flip up your middle finger and tell everyone you'll feel happy in your own time. It just happened, Yang. I don't expect you to be your old self again, or any kind of fine yet. I'm just happy you're alive" he gave a small smile. "Now, want me to show you how to do up your hair one handed?"

Yang gave a little chuckle. "Sounds like Elsa." The woman could be cold when she was mad, but once you got to know her, she was one of the nicest people around. She cared for her clients and would go up and beyond to make sure they got justice. Yang had to admire her drive. It wasn't really stubborn, which she could get sometimes. It was more like determination. What Omar said was what all her friends pretty much said. They always assured her that they didn't expect her to get better right away, that she needed to take time to heal. But how long could they say that? Would they be patient with her in the next few months? Or years? What if she was like this forever? It was one of the many fears lurking inside her right now. Omar changed the subject though, asking again if he could show her how to tie her hair up with one hand. She gave a nod. "Yeah, that sounds good." Maybe having someone explain it to her in person would be better than watching a Youtube video.

"Never met the woman, but I guess there are similarities" He smiled and touched Yang's shoulder. "I know it just sounds like old info, but nobody is expecting you to get better soon. It took me the better of ten years to get a grip on what happened to Cindy and Danny. I wasn't okay, I don't expect you to be okay" He took a deep breath. "Sometimes, and don't tell Jane this, but sometimes I still get nightmares over all the shit that's happened in my long life. Finding Danny and Cindy dead in our apartment is one of those nightmares. You're traumatized and that's okay" he smiled and took the band from her, shaking his own shoulder-length hair out.
"Okay, hold your head back and shake the hair out so it's all down your back" he said. "Then get the band up near your knuckles and Get all your hair held in your hand" he demonstrated and flexed his hand, getting the band off his hand and onto the hair. "Next you twist the band and hold the hair with a couple fingers. Make another hole in the band as you cinch the band together and twist it onto the hair. Voila, your hair is in a pony" he pointed at the slightly messy ponytail before pulling the band out of his hair and handing it to her. "You try, Yang"

"She's cool. She helped track down people who could take care of my kids," Yang said. Whether it was finding relatives or foster parents, Elsa had been a great asset for that. And now, all her kids were with adults who cared about them. She just hoped she could get back on the right foot with Louie someday. The two tried to spend time together, but it was always a bit awkward. There was stuff unsaid between them, and both were afraid to bring it up. In a way, Louie felt guilty about Yang losing her arm almost as much as Yang did herself. Both of them blame themselves for what had happened, when everyone around them reminded them that Thrax was the one who actually did the arm-slicing. Still, it was hard for both of them to get rid of those guilty feelings. She shook the thought away though and just concentrated on Omar showing her how to put her hair up with one hand. It seemed like there was an awful lot of twisting and not many fingers to do it with. But Omar made it look so easy, it had to be possible. She took the hair band and tried herself, and she almost had it, but her finger got caught half-way. "Oh come on," she muttered, trying to pull it out without yanking out any hairs, or breaking the hair band.
