"Maybe she can help me. I'm looking to adopt a human girl, but she's an adult and most lawyers I met won't touch my case because I'm an Other and she's human" he snorted and rolled his eyes. "I think that's a stupid idea. I still think of her as family" Omar chuckled at Yang's difficulty but sat back. It was better she learn how to do this herself. "You gotta crook your fingers a little more as you do it" he advised. "It's not easy but you'll get it with practice"

As Yang managed to untangle the hair band from her finger, she was surprised to hear what Omar said. She hadn't heard about Omar wanted to adopt someone into his family. Yang wondered who it was. Still, if Omar needed help with that, Elsa could probably offer some legal advice. "She could probably find something that can work. Elsa's good at what she does." She wondered if this girl could just change her last name to "LaRue" and that would be the end of it. But, that probably wasn't the same. "Well, at least practicing with it will fill my time," she said as she managed to slide the hair band back around her wrist like a bracelet. Yang had to walk a fine line between not being idle a whole lot and not taking on too much at once. Over exerting herself was bad, but having nothing to do was even worse. That was when all her negative emotions and memories like to creep up on her, and if she couldn't hold them back, she felt like she was drowning.

"I'll go talk to her when I'm done with you" he decided and smiled. "Wonder how well a mansion fits with a guy like me" he laughed. He would most likely stick out like a sore thumb, with his unkempt shoulder-length red hair and ratty black jeans, boots and a misfit shirt. He wasn't exactly the mansion type, despite having quite a fortune amassed from his long life tucked away in the swamp. It might be a rather comical sight, him in a mansion. Even if he was only visiting. "Do you want help doing your hair? at least for today"

"I used to hang around that area all the time when I was pick-pocketing," Yang said. "If they didn't notice me, I doubt they'll notice you." Rich neighborhoods was usually where the good stuff was at, whether it was in people's pockets or their dumpsters. Yang had hung around there quite a bit, trying to nab anything that might be useful for her and her kids. She hadn't felt too bad about it at the time. She always told herself that whatever she took, the rich people could replace. They had all the money in the world, after all. "Yeah. Usually it's fine, but if I try to do any kind of housework, it just kinda gets all over my face," she said, handing Omar the hair band. She'd let him tie it up today, then she'd work on doing it herself. Learning how would probably bolster her confidence, at least a little bit.

He chuckled. "Thanks Yang. But I'm sort of a little different. As far as I know, they don't have any residents that don't look human. You might be part phoenix but you look like a normal girl. I've got a snout, big ears and eight fingers. I'm not human and don't look it" he took the hair band once more and sat behind Weiss, taking her hair in his hands and expertly moving it into a ponytail. "There you go Yang. Now you can do all the housework you want" he joked and sat beside her once more and smiled. "Now, anything exciting happen lately?" he asked.

"Oh. Yeah." Omar had a point. One look at him and someone could tell he was an Other. Yang, on the other hand, looked normal until she started blasting out fireballs. It wasn't like she tried to hide her heritage or anything. Heck, she usually mentioned it when meeting new people. Or, at the very least, she liked to talk about her powers and how she could knock people around with them. Who knew if she could ever go back to that. Even if she somehow learned how to fight with one arm, could she ever get past the mental roadblocks that came with it? The rush of fighting used to to thrill her. Now, it terrified her. She was still lost in thought as Omar pulled her hair up and asked if anything else interesting had happened. "Hmm?" She glanced up, taking a moment to register that Omar had asked her a question. "Oh, um, not really," she replied. "I just kind of hang around at home most of the time." She knew some people were worried about her becoming a hermit, but Yang just wanted to stay in a place that was familiar and safe. Of course, Adrien's offer of taking her out on a lunch date was still on her mind, and she did want to give that a try in the future. Maybe if he was with her, going out wouldn't be so bad.

"I'm just a freak to most people" Omar said lightly. It really didn't bother him anymore what people thought. He was what he was and nothing was going to change that. "Nothing wrong with hanging at the house. When Cindy and Danny died I quit my job and holed up in my apartment for a year" he chuckled. "You take as long as you need to feel safe again, yea? You just focus on feeling okay again. Being okay is a good place to be, you know?" He smiled and ruffled her hair fondly. "I know nothing is ever going to be the same again, and it feels like your bad thoughts are gonna swallow you whole and eat you alive sometimes, but I'm right here Yang. I'm your buddy and I'm only a call away, kay?"

So, Omar had become a recluse too, after he had lost his family. That made Yang feel a little better. At least he had an idea of why she acted the way she did. But at least he functioned pretty normally and was always willing to help people. Yang didn't know if she could ever get that far. Helping people like she used to, she was afraid of doing it again only because she had screwed up so many times. She hated to make things worse. Avoiding people wasn't possible, but if Yang could just keep things casual and not get in too deep, she felt like that would be best for everyone. Omar offered her some words of reassurance, and an affectionate hair-ruffle. That made her smile a little. Even if she could never recuperate as well as Omar had, at least he had been in her position once. He'd probably understand the most. "Okay," she replied. "Thanks."

"No problem Yang. You know I'm here for you. I consider you practically part of my family. You reunited me and my daughter after all, and was always there. Anything I can do to help you, you know I will" He was glad she was finally smiling a little. It made her seem a little bit more like how she used to be. "Come on now, eat your cake. It's really good, I should know"

"Well, that was sort of an accident," Yang said. "I just assumed she was a groupie or something." That had been a little awkward. Out of all the things Yang expected Jane to be when they first met, Omar's daughter was not one of them. She had just assumed she was a fan, traveling from far away to see her favorite musician. Once the awkwardness was out of the way though, their reunion had been pretty heartwarming. Yang felt like Jane would have found Omar anyway, even without her help, but still, she and Omar had always said it was thanks to her that they had been reunited. At least she hadn't screwed that up. She ate a piece of cake, still thinking about it, but the sweet flavor of the dessert brought her mind back to the present. "Wow, this is good," she said. "At this rate though, you and Jane are gonna make me gain tons of weight with all these sweets you're bringing over."

Omar laughed. "So did I, at first. But she wasn't and you helped her find me ,so I'm grateful" He really owed Yang big for reuniting himself and his daughter. He wasn't counting on meeting her again for some time. But they were together now. It didn't matter anymore. He snickered. "You burn calories as fast as you eat, you'll be fine. Bet it's your fiery disposition" he cackled at his phoenix pun and grinned at her. "This is almond and cranberry cake with a homemade frosting. One of my own little recipes from over the years. I'd open a bakery, but that wouldn't be fair to the Seddons" he joked.

Yang had to laugh at Omar's pun, although it did make Adrien pop into her head. Making puns was part of his charm as Chat Noir. Of course, Yang loved him for more than that. He was one of the kindest people he knew, and he made her feel decent about herself. All he wanted to do was help people, and he never asked for anything in return. He was so different from his father, who tended to treat everyone around him coldly. Or he just shut people out. He was known for being a pretty reclusive rich guy. She took another bite of the cake, her mind still on Adrien as Omar explained what flavor the cake was and how it was an old recipe. "Eh, I say no harm in selling some on the side," she said. "Maybe they'd make a nice fundraiser for your band or something."
