Jenna opened a portal near the riverbank. Ironically it was where she had first come to Bellerouge. She closed the portal as she used her senses to see if she was alone. For now she was. She had heard news about what had happened to Shadow, but the details were unknown to her. She couldn't help but feel concerned for him. Her ears perked at the sound of a heartbeat. Dropping down to a hunting crouch she stalked toward where she heard the heartbeat.

After talking with Yang, Shadow was keeping onto his promise. When he found a safe jogging path, he'd challenge her. It would burn off the calories. He glided down the paths at a casual pace. Had he gone his fastest speeds, he'd stir up a wind. He was skirting the bend, when that feeling came up. That feeling of being watched. He paused, his red eyes darting at every area. "Who's there?!" Shadow called put firmly.

At the familiar voice of Shadow, Jenna relaxed and showed herself to him. "Hello Shadow." She said coming into view. "I'm glad to see that you're well." She said looking to her side as she tried to figure out how to say what she wanted to say.

Out of the darkness slunk the only K9 member of the Others Unit. Jenna had eeb one of the elusive members of the force, not counting Shadow and Pitch. She never talked to them unless it was mission progress. He wasn't even sure if she was a were or...something else that was being hidden. "Um..." he looked in the direction she was facing. "....thanks, I guess."

"So what exactly happened?" Jenna said hoping to delay what she wanted to tell Shadow. The secret she had been hiding from everyone on the Force was eating her up inside. So far Anna and Elsa were the only ones who knew the truth about what she was. "If you don't mind me asking that is."

The problem wasn't that Jenna didn't mean well, it was that Shadow didn't want to talk about the things that had gotten to him with someone that he didn't know. But maybe the well-meaning was what got to him. Besides, this wasn't like talking to Yang or Adrien where things had to be kept confidential.
"Long story short, I finally got my memories back, but with a price of nearly blowing up the city with how pissed I was. I ran...the Devil targetted the people I wanted to protect..."
He let out an aggravated sigh. "I'm a monster that just deserves whatever shit gets thrown at me."

"You want to know what a monster is?!" Jenna said her hackles rising slightly along with her voice. "I am! I'M A FUCKING HEARTHOUND!!!!" She cried out. Once she realized what she had said her ears flattened against her head and she made herself look very small. This was not how she had wanted to tell Shadow her secret.

A what? Well, whatever it was, Jenna had something about it that bothered her and the pent-up had forced her to literally shout it on high. Shadow glanced around, hoping no passerby were coming up or had heard her outburst. No one. Calmly, he folded his arms, looking her square in the eye and stated, "Pretend I don't know what that is."

Jenna almost broke into hysterical laughter. Almost. "You know what a Hellhound is right?" She asked. Before Shadow could respond she continued. "Basically take one make it twice as big, 6,000,000 times meaner. Hearthounds are insanely cruel and brutal to anything and everything. They- we, exist to hunt and kill. When we kill someone we go for the heart. And we hunt people by the sound of their heart." Once she was done talking her eyes were full of tears and fear. Fear that Shadow would hate her and tell the others.

Hellhound. Visits to hell were rare, but Shadow did get a basic idea of what kind of monsters they could be. Only someone like Disparion would make large dog-like beings that roamed the physical locations made from fire and brimstone. He was pretty sure some of the glowing red eyes and the dark beasts seen lurking in the halls in some of his 'drop ins' were hellhounds. As Jenna described her "pack", he was pretty sure enlarging that image made them nastier. But unlike hellhounds that smelled and hunted by dark deeds, they hunted only by a simpler task; heartbeats.
Jenna was looking up at him with her brown eyes wide. He knew that expression from countless interviews. That was a look of absolute fear. She was scared, and with good reason. Having that burden and no doubt bottling it up so no one would hurt her or people she cared about. He had been in that situation.
"You've got guts defying your pack and not killing people on sight," was all he could say.

Jenna blinked in surprise. Shadow wasn't afraid of her? She perked her ears and listened to his heart to double check. She did hear something, but it wasn't fear or anger. Was that... pride? Perhaps Elsa really had been right. "....Thank you." She was all she said, but those two simple words carried so much emotion in them.

Jenna's ears were twitching back and forth. Was she doing what she had described to Shadow? Listening to hearts? There were a few people out by the river, so it was hard to tell who it was she was listening to. She said 'Thank you' to him, and those two simple words were filled with multiple emotions. Shame, relief, but above all else, joy. Was the hearthound bigotry that bad? It was an understandable bigotry, but the way Jenna told him, it made it seem like it was far worse.

Once she was satisfied with what she heard from Shadow's heart, she sat down with a smile. "So you really don't mind?" She asked. "You have no idea how strange it's been for me to have people be nice to me. The bigotry is really bad, you have no idea."

"Bigotry? In this town? Never heard of it."
Well, okay, maybe sarcasm wasn't the best angle to go around it. The truth was ever since the never ending eclipse that fell over Bellerouge started, everything was seemingly on edge. Those considered different, not just by orientation or gender or race but by how they fed or were cursed slash plagued by a darker element, had been made products of ridicule and hate. It was one of the many things Shadow despised about humans.

Jenna gave a small laugh at Shadow's sarcasm. "At least the bigotry pointed at you is just humans. Right?" She said tilting her head at the question. "Hearthound bigotry is throughout every species."
