"I'll stop in at Nevermore sometime." he assured them. "Now that I don't have to be constantly afraid you'd figure things out."
That would be nice to just hang out with more people. He had kept his distance from them in his 'real' life because his manner of speech, even the way he acted or his tone of voice could have given him away to the officers. At the time, he hadn't been certain if they would arrest him or not. Even now he had been afraid. It felt like a weight off his shoulder to not have to be afraid of his friends. That he could get to know them better now that he wasn't hiding a part of himself away from them.

"Remind to fix you something that'll be loaded with calories," Sunshine joked. If Yang could get him off the negative anti-everything diet, she'd follow suit. Not a lot of people realized some of the coffee drinks that were made to order contained over 1,000 per sip. That and after working with gluten free flour for her boyfriend, it was making her miss some of the times making pastries with non-gritty flour paid off.
"And unlike the media," Shadow chimed in. "You can tell us things on your own time. And, if the paparazzi tries anything funny, we have ways of scaring them away." He cracked his knuckles on cue, and a cocky smirk crossed his face.

"Looking forward to it." Adrien told Sunshine.
It would be nice to visit Nevermore without the fear of getting caught. Though he had to be careful about who saw him there, otherwise his fans would camp out trying to get a peek at him when he was going in for drinks and pastries. They could get pretty obsessive. Shadow would enjoy chasing them off. At least it would be good for business. Nevermore might even be able to open a third café if they felt like it. However they kept it family run so perhaps not. It was still the best in the city. They proudly held that title.
"And if anything does happen, I'll tell you two immediately. Well, anything that would end up in the papers. I don't want you finding anything out from the tv." he said.

"Or the social media, which is how I learned," Shadow agreed. That was the second reason he wanted Adrien to come clean on his own terms. People could manipulate anything and say this or that. Checking sources became part of his job when it came to where people got their things. Saying 'the Internet' was one of the least reliable at all.
"You know," Sunshine smiled. "it feels good to be trusted enough to have all this," she flipped some hair back. "not a lot of people here trust us."
Shadow looked up at the red sky. "Well, with good reason."

"Or that." Adrien agreed.
Either way, he didn't want the media to tell his friends about his life. Adrien rubbed the back of his neck. The sky was starting to redden. He had to get back. He might have no longer had to sneak-sneak out but his security team didn't need to wonder where he was. That and if they got worried then Natalie got worried and then the police were called. He should at least get back to the house so he wasn't caught dressed like Chat Noir. So he offered the two of them a big smile and a flourished bow before he looked back up at them. He had put the mask back into place, just for now.
"I need to get back." he said. "But I'll see you at Nevermore?"

"Yeah. I can ask for coffee orders then," Sunshine agreed.
The cops' watches had shown they had been of the rooftops for about thirty minutes at most. It was way too long for them to simply be checking security sweeps at Magnolia Road, and the security team would probably be getting suspicious of what they were doing on the roofs. There was no reported crime scene nor was there any reason for them to be up so high, if they excluded fiding out the true identity of their...well, it probably was safe to call Chat Noir their friend after everything he had done for them.
"Be safe," Shadow finished the greetings. They would let him go. They had no reason to arrest him.

"Later!"
Adrien smiled. He gave them both a playful salute. He jumped up onto the ledge before leaping over the slide, sliding down the rail and racing off to the Agreste manor. He would have to make it back in before sunrise. He felt immensely better having told them. Chat Noir would no longer commit any crimes. Instead, he would just give information over to the two officers. He had to change. Make a change in order to protect his company and his employees. It had been fun while it lasted. He had done a great deal of good. Didn't mean he couldn't assist every now and then.

Both cops waved back. In the next minute, Adrien had loped off, leaving them on the top of the roof. "Okay, genius," Shadow looked at his partner. "How are you going to get us down?
"The fire escape?" Sunshine answered back with her arms crossed and eyes rolled. "It's not like there's anything for me to latch my hair to so I can shimmy down!"
Shadow sighed. "Okay, fair enough." A dash down would work for him, and it gave him time to pull the ladder at the end of the fire escape down for his partner. The metal creaked as he yanked it down carefully, and thus it led to Sunshine dropping down gracefully. A black cat ran by them as they were leaving the alley, and both of them watched it slink off. Chat Noir, a black cat, was now Adrien Agreste to them. And it would pay to have a kid like that as their friend. No, not just for the money. ((end thread))
