Pain. Rage. Hatred.
These were all that remained of the young, vibrant and strange woman known as Anna Castille. It had been only five days since Anna had been transformed and driven mad by the serum she had tested on herself, a serum made from the DNA of Others and meant to help the people of Bellerouge. And yet hardly any part of her remained now. Indeed, all that was left was a bloodthirsty being, a creature that little better then a rabid animal. And like a rabid animal, she was starting to die....
After the thing that had once been called Anna fled from the BPD, the victims of that first attack still in the building, she had headed taken off into the city with no thought as to where she was going. Anything that came into her path was attacked with the same viciousness with which she had shown Sunshine and Dorian. It was by pure luck that only a handful of people were assaulted, their wounds mainly superficial.
Even so, something far worse would have eventually happened if what was left of Anna hadn't found its was to the edge of the bayou, away from all the noise and lights and scents that only fed into her agony and fury.
It was there that she hid, lurking amongst the trees and setting upon any living thing that came too close to her. Soon even the animals of the swamp began to avoid the area, less they be attacked and killed. It was as if the very presence of another being drove the thing that was now Anna to a frenzy that seemed to be a mixture of the worst traits of so many Others. And the woman herself was barely recognizable, her hair turned a pure white, her eyes a burning red, her face contorted by bestial rage.
In her desperate and anger-filled need to prove the worth of her dream, she had acted without thought of what the consequences would be. And now they had turned her existence into a nightmare. And it was killing her....
____ On a small spit of land within the bayou, Anna rested fitfully. She lay curled along the moist ground, her chest rising and falling rapidly while an occasional cough racked her body, bringing up blood as black as tar. The serum was eating away at her, destroying her body as the warring Other DNA ripped her apart and yet she didn't know or care. Her mind, perhaps her very humanity had been the first thing torn apart by the serum she had held so much hope for.
All that was left now lay on the ground, coated in dirt and hardly recognizable as the young medical examiner from the BPD. Despite how vulnerable she appeared in her wretched sleep, nothing approached her. Even the alligators had learned to avoid this area less they be attacked or even killed....
Suddenly the wind blew through the swamp trees, causing the Spanish moss to sway and brining a scent to the semi-Other's nose. Immediately, her eyelids sprang open to reveal blood-red irises and she was on her feet, crouching low to the spongy ground and baring fang-like teeth.
Someone was coming.

Axel had taken Anna's blood directly to Aqua. The faery had become a regular at his bar - if only to spend more time around Omar. He had hastily explained what Anna had done, expressed his concern for the woman, which to his relief, the faery shared. But by the time he had shared his worries with Aqua, news came over Anna's police radio saying that Sunshine and Dorian were being sent to the hospital after a vicious attack. Axel had gone pale. Dorian worked in the lab with Anna. Aqua had tried to argue that she had to go after Anna, but Axel shot that down quickly. Anna had already hurt one faery, besides, Aqua was better equipped to find a cure or someone who could make a cure than he was. When fighting demons, you sent in demons.
"The bayou, she just had to go to the bayou." he complained.
It was the one place where he was at a disadvantage. He couldn't start a fire or he could literally destroy the entire swamp. Dry grass on top with water below. Wildfires could be dangerous here. So he opted to use no fire. Even as he trudged through the swamp to try and find the wayward woman. Though it wasn't hard to find her. She left a trail of black blood behind her. It was only once she hit the bayou that it became a little more difficult. Judging by the number of animal bodies he crossed, he was getting close.
-
Aqua flit about the city, trying to find someone who knew this well enough to actually make some sort of a difference. This serum was like a toxin, driving Anna to do things she would never ever do, ever. The faery didn't want to believe that she had knowingly attacked someone, hurt them even. However at this point, her choices were limited. Dorian was in the hospital. As was Sunshine. Shadow was with Sunshine and would likely shoot Anna first at this rate. Axel was going after Anna himself. Elsa didn't have magic that could cure. Neither did Adeline or Namine. And Riku wasn't talking to her...
She inhaled slowly. The last time she had tried to 'help' she had done more harm than good. She was terrified of doing that again. She didn't even trust herself enough but she had to try something. Anna was only getting worse. If Aqua prolonged this any longer, it might just mean that Anna could die. If there was something that Aqua couldn't live with - it was a human dying on her watch. Like Terra did. Like Riku could have. Like Anna was...
She shook her head and frantically flew towards her apartment. She was going to have to open her mother's books up and see if her mother had come across something like this. As she flew she fumbled for her phone. Axel would need help at least until she got something prepared. She dialed the first number she could find, not even paying attention to who it was. She just needed someone to answer.

Jim and Dimitri were driving around looking for Anna. They had gotten an urgent text from Sunshine. True it was full of typos, but Jim had been able to figure out the gist of it. After they had checked on Sunshine in the hospital, they were off looking for their other friend.
Jenna was also looking for Anna. While she hadn't gotten any calls or texts about what had happened, she had heard something that troubled her. That was the sound of her friends heart changing. Not only did it change from human to something else, but the sound of pain, anger and most troubling of all, death were added. Jenna kept opening portals and going through them searching for Anna. Each second that passed by filling Jenna's heart with dread and worry. Her ears were straining to pick up any sound of Anna's heart as she traveled.

Red wasn't out for blood, nor was she looking for a friend. There was a notice in the police department about Anna, someone Red didn't recall ever meeting, going missing and her co-worker Dorian and a cop named Rachel Seddon ending up in the hospital. The first thing Red did was go to the hospital. She met up with Dorian, grievously burned by chemicals and permanently blind in one eye ,who was actually awake. "Anna was trying to create a serum that would temporarily give humans Other powers. Shadow and a fellow named Axel destroyed all the vials. But one. She used it and it went wrong. So wrong" he shuddered. "She went feral and attacked Rachel and I. Then presumably fled. Time is running out, I think...I think the woman is dying"
Which left Red with gnawing sense of deja vu.
"Don't worry, Apple Peach. When I put it in a body it'll do whateva I say. Jus a buncha souls, ya know"
"But Cale, it's four different kinds of souls in there! How're ya gonna control it?"
"WE ARE DREJ"[/color]
She had to crush those bad memories, strangle them in their infancy or she'd never get her job bringing Anna back. She followed blood and eyewitness reports leading to the Bayou, and then from there she followed the dead animals. She ran into her favorite bartender. "Hey flame brain" she said quietly, but loud enough to get his attention. "You comin here to fix the mess she made?"

Anna could sense the approach of several different things. She could hear their movements distantly through the underbrush, could smell the distinct scents each possessed. And each presence only seemed to stoke the feral aggression that had consumed her, causing her to arch her back and let out a low hiss like a cat that has been cornered by a pack of dogs.
However, she did not charge towards the intruders and instead moved to conceal herself from the approaching steps. A think clump of bushes grew near the edge of the swampy shore and it was here that she hid, keeping her body low to the ground and watching with gleaming crimson eyes.
Thus far she had not laid eyes upon the things that had dared to step into her territory, and as long as she did not sight them she would not attack. However, her body tensed nonetheless. She might not have gained the complete abilities of the Others she had used in her serum, but she was beyond human by that point.
And it made her all the deadlier.

Axel slowly turned to face Red. It was just her. Not Anna. That did the bartender some good. Though, the sick woman was likely nearby, waiting, watching. His eyes narrowed and he looked around, trying to spot something that shouldn't have been in the bayou aside from him and Red. Anna was out there somewhere. He had to find her before it was too late, or she did something she would never ever forgive herself for - like kill someone. Though, he did not like Red's accusation. Yes, Anna injected herself, but Axel and Shadow had a hand in her desperation. The woman wasn't thinking clearly and it was the serum's fault.
"It's not her fault." he replied.
He hadn't anticipated so many people just showing up to find her. He had wanted to find and subdue her before the police got involved, because sometimes they only looked at Others as animals to be put down in the case of them going feral. He didn't think he could stay in the city if they decided to put a bullet through her head. She hadn't meant to hurt anyone. He knew that. Anna wasn't like a demon - not like him. He would have burned the city if they killed her. He would have meant it.
-
No answer. Aqua swore. It was useless just flying around like a pixie with her wings plucked off. She took a deep breath. Her mother was a healer. She likely left a few remedies behind in her old books. She looked at the bloodied rag (safely stored in a plastic bag). The hospital. She should go to the hospital. Someone there could do something. So that's where she went, her wings beating as hard as they could to spur her body faster. She was flying on borrowed time. Maybe Dorian - Anna's lab mate - could shed some light on the situation.

Jenna opened a portal near where she heard Anna's heart. Once it was opened she stepped through and closed it behind her. She was a few yards behind Anna. Jenna's heart almost broke at the sight of her friend. She looked terrible. Anna's heart however sounded twice as bad as she looked. "Oh Anna." Jenna said quietly. "What have you done to yourself?" The hearthound's ears were flattened against her head, to muffle the cacophony of Anna's heart.

Red tilted her head up defiantly. "Mebbe, mebbe not. I knew someone who tried somethin simila. It backfired somethin awful an he's dead" her tone softened and she put a hand on Axel's arm. "Hun, she did this herself. It might not be what she intended, but she made the move. Let's find er an help er afore what 'appened ta Cale 'appens ta her, get me?" she began walking as she made signs with her hands. Presently she started shimmering and some spirits appeared around her. A couple ran to the bushes and a few ran to a place with flattened grass. Probably where the medical examiner had been sleeping. Red took out her dart gun, what she used to put her targets to sleep when wounding or otherwise was not acceptable. "Axel" she said quietly ."Betta find somethin ta make yerself useful"

Constantine was having a smashing good time in the hospital taking advantage of scared and vulnerable people. It was a very productive day ,so far. He walked back to the lobby of the hospital ans spied a blue aired young woman. She had an air of utter desperation about her. He loved it. So he went up to her and pulled out a card, which luckily he'd seen fit to make just the other day. "John Constantine" he introduced himself cheerfully. "You look like you could use a miracle"

Anna listened to the approaching voices, ready to attack from her hiding place at the slightly provocation. She could no longer be reasoned with and no long distinguish friend from foe. In what was left of her rabid mind, everyone was her enemy.
Suddenly, the bushes on the far side of where she was hidden parted and two figures with red hair stepped through. As soon as she saw them, Anna's crimson eyes narrowed and she prepared to attack. However, before she could launch herself forward there was a slight shift in the air and a voice spoke directly behind her.
She immediately snapped around to face the source of the voice, a canine with reddish fur. She didn't even pause upon seeing Jenna, merely turning her savage bloodlust towards the Hearthound as she leapt forward with a wild snarl and her razor-sharp nails at the ready.

"I am being useful." he said.
He rolled up his sleeves and waded into the bayou. He and Anna were probably two of the most frightening things near the water right now. He spotted Anna quite quickly and his heart sank. And she went right for a... dog? Either way Axel surged forward. One of his chakrams appeared in a flurry of dancing flames and he pitched it in between the woman and the dog. The blazing weapon embedded itself in the ground, the fire slowly fizzling, simply because Axel couldn't burn too hot here or he would set the entire bayou ablaze.
"C'mon, now sweetheart, we still have some talking to do." he chided the woman, almost playfully.
-
"I don't have time for this." she snipped.
Aqua hadn't even gotten her foot through the door when some man started spewing things about his name and miracles. She shook her head in disgust. She didn't take his card, and she shouldered past him, trying to make her way to the front desk. Dorian, she told herself, Dorian would know what to do. He had to know. He was Anna's coworker. She couldn't let herself get bothered by weirdos and their 'miracles' because no one could perform miracles.

Before Jenna could defend herself, Axel got in between her and Anna. "Stay out of this. I can handle her." She growled. She didn't want to hurt her friend, but from the looks of things, she might have no other option. Thinking quickly, she opened a small portal to where Jim was. She jumped through it and closed it so Anna couldn't follow.
"Holy shit!" Jim shouted at the sudden appearance of Jenna in the car. Dimitri skidded to a halt at his brother's exclamation. "Jim?!"
"I found her." Jenna said. "She's in the bayou. On a small spit of land. I can take you there." As she said that a portal opened in front of the two brothers.
"What kind of Other are you again?!" Jim asked as Dimitri drove through it. While he didn't know where it would lead or what Jenna exactly was, he did trust her.

Red smiled slightly. "You can't use much fire here sug. I'm just tryin ta make sure ya can defend yoself" he had his chakrams and defended a dog, who made a portal and disappeared. Red walked nearer Anna carefully and crouched down, hand out. "Hun, we ain't gonna hurt ya. We just wanna getcha help" she said, though she knew it wouldn't do a lick of good. Whatever humanity had been was now gone. Permanently or temporarily was yet to be seen. "You don't know me but I wanna help"

Constantine chuckled and stepped in front of the blue haired girl again. "You have time for me ,girl" he said lightly but with an air of 'shut up and listen'. "My name is John Constantine. I specialize in giving hope to the hopeless and appeasing the desperate. I grant wishes you see. For a price as great as the subject of the wish. You look like you could use some help"

Before her claws could sink into the HeartHound, something fiery came whirling through the air and imbedded itself in the ground in front of the two of them. Anna let out a sound of surprise and dodged away from the flames before turning to face the being that had thrown the chakram. She took in the tall figure, the red spikey hair and the green eyes in an instant but despite that she didn't recognize Axel at all. All she saw was a stranger.
Kneeling close to the ground, her crimson eyes darted between the two figures that approached her. The canine had disappeared somewhere but with her advanced hearing, Anna could also sense what sounded like three more beings coming this way. It made what remained of her mind race and her blood boil. Two instincts were warring inside of her, he desire to fight and the need to flee.
Suddenly, the red-headed woman came towards her and Anna's focus turned completely to her. She was speaking in a soothing voice, staying close to the ground and taking her time. However, it all meant nothing to the young woman except that she now had a target in mind. Once the woman had moved close enough, Anna dug into the ground with her hands and felt one of them connect with a large rock.
Immediately, she seized the football-sized stone and pulled it with a wild strength from the ground before throwing it straight at the woman. Not even waiting to see if the rock had struck its target, she took off in the only direction that was open and jumped into the water. She struggled in the swamp, heading towards another outcrop of land that rose from the stagnant water several yards away. Despite the difficulty of moving through plant-infested water that was thick with mud at the bottom, somehow she was moving forward.

Despite the fact he wanted to, Anna would not be reasoned with. Not right now. She needed to be apprehended and restrained until they could cure her. He hoped they could cure her. This world would have lost someone so good that it caused him a physical pain. When the hound ran off, Axel thought that would be his chance to get in close, but Red did before he could. She tried to soothe Anna, but that wasn't going to be happening. And worst of all, Anna lobbed a giant rock at the woman. Axel was too far away to stop her.
"Red! Move!" Axel hissed.
He trudged through the water, not as easily as Anna did to try to get to Red. This was what he got for letting humans get involved. So fragile. So breakable. The boulder would kill Red if she wasn't alert or on her feet.
-
Aqua's eyes narrowed on the man. The look she gave him could only be described as scrutinizing and scathing at the same time. She folded her arms across her chest. She had plenty of wishes that she held close. But she was working against the clock. Anna was dying. Axel was sure of it. From the sounds of how dire things were, he was right. Yet there she was, wasting time with some loser in a trench coat who claimed he could fix all of her problems. It sounded too good to be true.
"You look more like a sleazy car salesman." she told him. "What do you know about what I wish?"

Red was already in movement before the rock ad even left Anna's hand. It paid being a supernatural bounty hunter. "Sug, I was way ahead of ya" she got back to her feet and brushed off dirt. Red sighed and put down papers, quickly finishing the symbols on the papers. Soon there ere six or seven spirits hovering around her. She pointed at Anna. "Stop er but no hurtnin!" she shouted. "We want er alive an well" The spirits moved to surround Anna and cut her off from moving towards the land. Red pointed at Anna. "Axel, do somethin ta knock er out and grab er now!"
~*~
Constantine smiled despite her scrutinizing and scathing look. "I'm a Djinn. We deal in wishes the way some people deal in miracles" he said happily. "But I'm glad I look enough like a human to pass as a salesman!" essentially that's what he was, a salesman. Before he could answer her about what she wished, A faery with acid burned wings and one good eye came charging out of the hospital in nothing but a bathrobe and plaid pants, with a group of nurses and one green-skinned little girl in hot pursuit. Dorian skidded to a stop in front of Constantine and Aqua.
"You're the voodoo boy's partner. I met his sister. I'm going to help Anna" he said in a rush and tried to nudge past them. "This is all my fault!"
