Adeline thought for a moment. Was there anything about Thrax she wasn't willing to discuss? Jenna was at least trying to be considerate of any boundaries she might have. Not every stranger was like that. She took a moment to ponder the question before answering. "Anything about him attacking...other people," she replied. Anytime she thought about Thrax hurting Yang, or Pitch, or Weiss, it never failed to fill her up with guilt. She was still trying to get over that. Anything else was up for grabs.

Out of all the questions that Jenna would have asked about Thrax, him attacking other people was the last thing she would have asked. She knew that was what he had done, she had even heard a few of the names. Instead of saying that, however, she simply nodded her understanding. "I guess the question that comes to mind, is why summon him?" Her tone was one hundred percent curious. "I always wondered that when I heard of people summoning them outside of crossroad deals."

"It's a dumb reason, really," Adeline said. At least, she felt like it was. Most people summoned demons to get help or use them to attack somebody. Adeline's reasons for summoning Thrax were entirely different. "I was the smartest kid in my grade. Always performed exceptionally well with spells and stuff. I was constantly looking for ways to challenge myself. And I thought...summoning a demon was something I could handle. It'd show that I was an exceptional witch." She gave a sigh. "I summoned him alright, but couldn't control him at all. He thought he could use me though, so he altered me, made me part-demon in the hopes that it would get the better of me and make me his side-kick." She gave a little smile. "Needless to say, that part of his plan never succeeded."

"That explains the slightly demonic sounds coming from your heart." Jenna murmured. When she realized what she had said she flicked her ears back in embarrassment. Now she would have to explain exactly what she was. The only silver lining she could see was that Adeline didn't seem like the person who would judge her just from what she was. Providing that the girl knew what a Hearthound was.

Adeline blinked. She hadn't exactly expected Jenna to say that. Was that a thing talking dogs did? Or was there more to Jenna than she appeared? "So...you can sense that sort of thing?" she asked, giving Jenna a look. She wondered what exactly she was. Maybe she used to be more human, but she was stuck as a dog now. Or maybe she was a witch's familiar? They were typically animals like rabbits or cats, but dogs could be used too. Although they didn't always talk, and Adeline hadn't heard of one able to sense demon nature in somebody. Sure, they might be able to tell if a person was off, but they usually weren't able to name it specifically.

"I'm a Hearthound." Jenna said. "I can tell what a person is by the sound of their heart beat." She explained. "I was curious why your heart sounded like that because it didn't have the sound of someone possessed." She watched Adeline's expression carefully wondering how the girl would react to that information.

'Hearthound..." Adeline repeated the word to herself. She wasn't sure if she had heard the term before, although she was familiar with one that was sort of like it. "Is that different from a hell hound?" she asked. What exactly a hell hound did depended on the culture, but they were usually associated with death. Although Adeline had heard of accounts of some demons who used them to hunt people down, usually when they were collecting souls. Adeline hadn't gone into any further details about them, especially when she'd seen some illustrations of the beasts. They weren't pretty.

"We're cousins of hell hounds." Jenna said. "The best way to describe it is we're the Dire wolves of the underworld, and hell hounds are normal wolves. We're called Hearthounds because we track people by their heartbeat." She explained leaving out the part of her kind usually being the bigger and meaner hound. "That and we don't go for the jugular when we kill our prey."

"Oh. I...see." Adeline didn't even want to think about what hearthounds did with their prey once they found them. But, the description Jenna gave didn't seem to match her very well. She didn't seem anything like a cold, bloodthirsty killer. "You don't...seem that way though," she said. Maybe she was the odd one out of the bunch? It was possible. Heck, Axel was kind of that way. He was a demon, but he wasn't evil or conniving. He wasn't even closed-off like Pitch. He was laid-back, easy to talk to, and gave pretty good advice. He was one of Adeline's closest friends, and he didn't fit the description of a typical demon at all.

Jenna nodded in agreement. "You might say I'm the black sheep of the pack." She said. "Not entierly sure why, but I'm not the only Hearthound to be more rational. They're just few and far between."

Adeline gave a little laugh. "Sounds like a friend of mine," she said. "He's a bartender at Bourbon Graisse. He's a demon, so you'd think he'd totally be into the whole evil thing. Or just be closed-off like Pitch. But he's totally nice." Axel was one of her closest friends, despite her totally not trusting him when they first met. She'd been wary of demons ever since Thrax and Vanitas had screwed with her. But Axel had proved to her that not every demon was the same. Pitch had too of course, but Axel was the first one who really drove the lesson home.

"Surprisingly I have actually met a fair amount of demons that aren't the stereotypical evil," Jenna said with a smile. She had never been to the Bourbon Graisse, but if there was a nice demon she would definitely check it out. "Not enough to balance out the others but still."

"You got a point there," Adeline said. Even if she'd managed to find a few good demons, the bad still outweighed them. And she'd seen plenty of bad in Thrax and Vanitas. The worst part was that they weren't even the most wicked, or the most powerful. There were demons and other creatures that were far more evil than they were, and they'd existed for thousands of years. Lucky for them, most creatures like that weren't in Bellerouge, and were still stuck down in Hell. Adeline hoped they stayed there.
