Pitch heard Yang call out and saw her approach him even though his sight was still blurred rather from the light attack. He gave a single nod in response to his partner's suggestion before making his way quickly but cautiously to the broken in window display. Stepping out into the night and the darkness, he felt his powers start to recover and even managed to summon forth three Nightmares after a moment or so. He didn't wait but sent them each off in a different direction in hopes of locating the thief.
However, he knew the chances of them finding anything were small. Clearly the Calavera Thief was more cunning then they had thought and had a great ability with potions and spells. He had come into this thinking it would be an easy assignment and now....
"I can't summon any other Nightmares as of now. They'll search for him but the thief clearly proved he is not one to be underestimated."
Pitch couldn't help but feel the smallest trace of anger at himself for allowing what should have been such a simple assignment fail. And what's more he had allowed himself to appear weak in front of a rookie officer. It was enough to make the Terror Demon feel almost incompetent.
"It looks as if we have both made mistakes tonight."

Yang could see the change in Pitch once he was back in the darkness again. He even managed to summon three Nightmares, although that was the most he could do right now. It almost astonished Yang, how much damage the light had done. She had to remember that Pitch wasn't invincible, even though he could seem that way sometimes. But everyone had their weaknesses, even this skeleton thief. They just had to find out what it was. "I say they're only mistakes if we don't learn from them. We'll give him his just desserts next time we find him," she said as she punched her fist into the palm of her other hand. She refused to let this get her down. If there was one thing Yang was good at, it was pushing through a setback and finding a way to get through it. "What exactly was he anyway?" she asked as she glanced at Pitch. "I've never seen a skeleton have potions like that before. I usually think of witch doctors or wizards when I see that sort of stuff."

"If I had to hazard a guess, some kind of magic wielder although not like any wizard or witch doctor I have seen before. And my instincts tell me that his deathly appearance is nothing more then a glamor, a disguise to fool and beguile those who would see him caught in the act."
As Pitch spoke, he rolled his shoulders to try and relieve some of the tension from them. Even the healed wound where Thrax had stabbed him gave out a throb of mild pain as if responding to his feelings. Although he outwardly appeared as calm and collected as ever, there was no denying the annoyance and anger he felt at the thief's escape.
"However, while he has managed to escape us it came at a price. Now we know to some extent what he is capable of. Now we know what to expect next time."

That made sense. Disguising yourself as a freaky skeleton would definitely be a good way of hiding who you really were. And it couldn't be easily slipped off like a mask. Only someone with powerful magic could probably rip away the glamour and show who this guy really was. Yang wondered if maybe Riku could pull it off. She'd have to look into that. Of course, there was still the nagging feeling that she'd met this thief before. The possibility of it being Manolo was still up in the air at this point. She couldn't say for sure whether it was him or not unless she had proof. Maybe him and the thief just happened to have the same accent or something. That could be an explanation. Regardless, she nodded in agreement with what Pitch said. This wasn't a total loss. They knew their opponent a little bit better now, and it would be harder to take them by surprise next time. "So, what next?" she asked. It might be a while before the thief struck again, but if his current pattern continued, then he'd probably aim for another rich business like this one. Maybe they could predict where he'd strike next and get the jump on him.

Pitch didn't immediately answer Yang's question and instead continued to stare into the darkened surroundings of the street, his yellow eyes flashing. Already a small line of grey light was starting to appear along the eastern horizon, indicating that dawn was not far off. Still, he lingered in front of the shop where yet again the Calavera Thief had managed to escape justice.
However, despite his mild anger and annoyance Pitch knew that this was far from over. Yes, the man had managed to escape them this time but it would only take so long before he would make another mistake. And when that did happen, he was determined to be there and make sure that the skeleton burglar would be caught.
"Report this. And learn from it."
Without another work to his partner, the Demon turned and headed along the cobbled street. The day was nearly upon them and there was still much to do.
(End Plot?)
