Adrien smiled. He couldn't help it. She just sounded so deliriously happy as they zipped down the street. He would have to remember this later. Maybe he would take her somewhere she could race her bike and not worry about traffic? He would store it away for later. But now, he just held on tight. Yang was happy and it was contagious. It sounded like she had found the bike for her. That was the best part and it was even in the colors he knew that she liked.

Yang was having lots of fun, although she felt like Adrien might need a break before they headed back. She didn't want to overwhelm him too badly during this drive. She found a place to pull over her bike, near the top of a hill. "Here, let's take a breather before we head back," she said as she parked the bike and cut off the engine. She swung her leg over it and pulled off her helmet, shaking her head to get her hair out of her eyes. "Man, was that a rush or what?" she said with a grin. "This bike's got some sweet moves. I know people say you probably shouldn't buy the first one you try, but this one just seems like it's it, you know?"

Yang pulled off somewhere. He got off the bike when she did. He let out a breath of relief when he took his helmet off. Yang was all but glowing with how happy the trip made her. His expression softened. Bikes might not have been for him, but if Yang were the one driving, he was likely to be going along with her. How she had him wrapped around her little finger and she probably didn't even know the extent.
"Well, if it's what you want, it's what you want!" he laughed.

"Do you like it?" Yang asked. "I mean, you're paying for half of it." She felt like Adrien should have a say too, although he seemed pretty amused at her enthusiasm. "Our joyrides can be a bit calmer, if you want. I know I got a little...too excited there." High speeds would have to be saved for chasing criminals, not for times when Adrien was in the backseat. "Just...be honest about it, okay? Don't play it cool just to make me happy." She knew Adrien cared a lot about her happiness, but she wanted him to think about himself too every once in a while. Self-care was just as important as care for others, after all.

"I like it," he assured her. "I'm just not used to it yet. We can build our way up to faster stuff later."
He could grow to like the bike. Yang was a safe driver. His first time out and he was honestly expecting worse. Granted, he had terrible high speed movie chases to blame for those expectations. He reached over and took Yang's hand in his and gave it a squeeze. She really was too sweet. It was her bike but she wanted his opinion on it. He liked having this shared responsibility with her.
"Do you think it will be good for your work?" he asked.

Yang gave a sigh of relief. So she hadn't pushed him too far. That was good. She'd be a little sad if she couldn't enjoy this bike with him. When he asked if it would be good for her job, she nodded. "Yeah. If someone's taking off at high speed, I'll be able to weave through traffic and catch up to them," she said. "Although Shadow and Pitch are probably the fastest on the Others Unit without the help of motorcycles or cars or anything like that." Shadow practically ran at the speed of light, and Yang had witnessed first-hand how fast Pitch could be when he and his Nightmares were chasing someone down. And sure, she could move pretty quickly with fire blasts of her own, but it wasn't the most reliable way of transportation in the world. And she couldn't exactly have someone tag along. They'd throw her off balance and she'd probably crash into something. No, a motorcycle was a bit safer for high-speed chases.

"Sure, they're fast, but now you've got a better chance of keeping up." he said.
He would do anything if it meant giving her a better foothold for her job. Even the playing field so to speak. The other officers had more years of experience than her. He just wanted to give her the best tools of the trade. He supposed... if he really wanted to help her career, he'd start giving her the information Chat Noir had. He would no longer have any use for it since he was letting go of his mask. He smiled before bringing her hand to his lips and kissing the back of her hand.
"Glad we found your bike." he said. "It's no white steed, but it'll fit you Princess."

"Aw, how chivalrous of you," Yang teased as Adrien kissed her hand. Still, he seemed happy for her, and that made her glad. That was just how it was with them. Their happiness was infectious. "We'd better head back," she said, glancing back out at the road. "God forbid that salesman thinks we've run off with the bike. Though I guess we both have experience being outlaws." She gave a cheeky grin. Some of those days had fond memories for her, but she was glad she wasn't a street kid anymore. And she knew Adrien felt the same about Chat Noir. They could both do some good in the world now, and be themselves while doing it. There wasn't much that was better than that.

"For you? Always."
Yang just brought out the best in him. He would always want to make her happy. The bike was what she wanted. They got lucky when the salesman matched her to this one. They could have been looking all day for a bike. Bikes that were too big, or too heavy or too noisy. But this one was just right. Adrien could probably even drive the bike if he had to (not that he would since it was Yang's bike).
"Yeah, we probably should." he said. "Can't have you getting arrested for a joyride."
It would be a little hilarious if Yang got pulled over by one of her coworkers on a test drive. They likely wouldn't let her live it down. They would tease her about it relentlessly. But it was best not to give them teasing fodder without a reason.

Yang gave one more smile before putting her helmet back on and sitting on the back. Once Adrien was on, she revved the engine a few times, just double-checking that it sounded just as good the first time. And it did. She took off, a little smoother than last time, and got back onto the road. The drive was less clunky now that she was a little more familiar with the controls, and she felt herself weaving in and out between cars easily. Her smile broadened as the wind tossed her hair about. By the time she made it back to the motorcycle dealership and parked the bike, the salesman was already out to meet them. Yang took off the helmet, giving a little toss of her hair as she did.
"Judging by the look on your face, I'd say you're pretty satisfied," the salesman said with a smile.
Yang nodded. "It's a perfect fit. This is the one I want."
"Well, happy to have a customer that makes up their mind quickly," the salesman said. "You'll want to pick out some accessories before you sign the paperwork. We have a wider selection besides the jacket and helmet you two borrowed."
"Thanks. I'll take a look," Yang said, returning the equipment she borrowed before checking out the accessories side of the dealership. There was a lot more than just helmets and jackets. There were motorcycle gloves, boots, and even pants. There was quite a bit to choose from. "Well, I know I'll need a pair of helmets and jackets," she said. Having some gear for a backseat rider was important. "What to do you think?" she asked, looking at Adrien. Were any of the other accessories worth it?

Adrien followed suit. He got on the bike behind her and held on once more. One thing Adrien could claim to liking about the bike so far was that he had an excuse to hold onto Yang. Though he never really needed much of an excuse before. For now he just got to relish being close. The return trip was smoother, even he had to admit to a big grin on his face, catching onto Yang's enthusiasm for her bike. It was fun.
"You heard the lady. This is the bike for her." Adrien chuckled.
The salesman was beside himself in glee. Likely to make a pretty commission off the sale's of the bike. But Adrien was going to respect Yang's wish for him only to pay half of the bike. He wondered if the same rule applied to the gear she was now eyeing. They were important necessities when riding, considering that unlike a car, she wouldn't have metal around to protect her and no seat belt. She would want something that was good with safety recommendations. He could agree to that full-heartedly.
"Get whatever you like," Adrien said. "If you can't find something here, we can find something somewhere else or we could get it made custom."
He wouldn't deny wanting to see if his team could make a line of motorcycle gear and have something tailor made for Yang, but he could also privately hire someone for clothes just for Yang.

Adrien did have a point. He did run a fashion company, after all. He could probably get someone to make any kind of motorcycle gear Yang wanted, and she could have every say in the process. Although she wasn't sure how much different they'd be from the ones at the shop here. They'd probably be made out of the same material. Maybe she'd start off with a few things and see how she did with them. If she found she needed some other stuff later, she'd come back or get help from Adrien's fashion designers. "Maybe just the essentials for now," she said, giving one more glance over before moving in and picking out the accessories she wanted. By the time she was done, she had a pair of helmets and jackets, and some gloves for herself. Adding all that, along with the bike, and the total price was pretty up there. It made Yang cringe internally a little bit, although she knew that Adrien would pay for the whole thing if she'd let him. She'd never spent this much money in one place before. Still, it was worth it. "Alright, time to whip out that magical credit card of yours," she said to Adrien, smiling a little.

"A helmet at least," Adrien insisted.
He was relieved when she picked out a set of helmets (perhaps one for him and one for her) as well as two jackets. It was probably going to be the first thing he would ever wear that wasn't custom made for him. He still liked it because Yang was the one picking it out. He would just be happy if she got one for herself. He didn't want to have to worry that while she was working she had an accident on the bike and wasn't protected. He grinned at the thought. The two of them broke most of the rules for couples. He was the work at home sort and she was the one who risked her life day to day. Good for them.
"I don't know about magic," he teased.
He knew better than to tease about the money aspect of it. His bank account was bigger than hers, but he 'did his time' doing a job he didn't like. Yang was the one actually enjoying herself in her career.

"Well, maybe not magical in the sense that it can shoot fireballs or icicles or anything," Yang said with a laugh. Still, she couldn't deny that Adrien's credit card could pay for pretty much anything under the sun. At least it was money he earned though. That had to count for something. Some rich people just inherited everything from their parents and didn't work a day in their lives. Yang couldn't imagine having that much money. Still, she felt like she didn't even need that much. She had a nice place, a stable job, friends, and a boyfriend that would love her until the end of time. Having all the money in the world couldn't replace things like that. After paying for the bike and gear, and making sure she read the paperwork a few times to make sure she understood it, everything was officially settled.
"Well, there you go miss," the salesman said, looking very pleased with himself. "The bike's officially yours."
Yang felt a little thrill at hearing those words. The bike was really hers, and she'd paid for half of it herself. She couldn't help but feel a bit of pride.
"Thanks for all your help," she said.
"No problem," the salesman said. "Just don't get too crazy now, you hear? I don't want your boyfriend falling off the back 'cause you decided to try a crazy stunt or something."
"Pff, come on, that would never happen," Yang replied. "Right Adrien?"

While Yang did the last of the paperwork to own the bike, Adrien pulled out his check and wrote enough to cover half (as she requested). He handed it directly to the salesman, not trusting it to simply sit out on the desk for just anyone to walk by and take. But his job was done. The rest was up to Yang - just how she wanted it to be. He had to admire how stubborn she was about paying her own way for things. He would have covered her gear too but he felt that he would have been pushing his luck if he tried. Yang would probably beat him if he tried. He had a feeling gift giving was always going to be difficult between them simply because of money, but they could have a talk about that later.
"Oh, me? Nah, Yang wouldn't have to do a trick to get me to fall off. I naturally have horrible coordination." he laughed.
If he fell off the bike, it would be his own fault. Not Yang's. Though, he did sit at a learning curve when it came to bikes. He wondered if he would have to take lessons in order to keep up with her. He could be clumsy from time to time. Thankfully never when he was in public or at a fashion show. It would make the papers if he did, though he'd probably laugh hysterically. At least then his fans would stop treating him like some superhuman god or something. If he was a klutz he might seem more human to them.
