Truthfully, Yang had owned a motorcycle once, although she hadn't had it for very long. She'd won it by beating an opponent known as the Boulder in an underground fight, and she'd received it as part of a wager. She'd been happy with it for a while, until she'd found out that the motorcycle had been stolen from a local mechanic. She'd returned it anonymously after that, refusing to own it after learning where it'd come from. Still, ever since she'd gotten her job as an Other Units officer and had been making a decent amount of money, she'd thought about buying one of her own. Adrien was enthusiastic about the idea, and even offered to pay for it, although Yang wasn't about to agree to that. They'd decided to split it, so Yang could at least take some pride in buying something big with money she'd earned herself. Really, the only thing left was to buy the bike itself, which was why she was meeting Adrien outside a motorcycle dealership. If he was going to sink some of his money into this, she figured he might as well have some way in which one she picked, although he'd confessed not to know too much about motorcycles. Yang didn't mind though. He'd at least make picking one out more fun.

Adrien had decided to talk a walk to the motorcycle dealership. Tom needed time off anyways and it wasn't far from his house. He could only laugh over how stubborn Yang was about paying her way for the bike. However, she was working now. She was trying to reassert her independence now that she was growing more confident in herself. He would just be there to make sure she was getting a good deal, the salesman wasn't trying to rip her off because she was a girl (even though she knew more about bikes than he did) and for the company.
"Hey, Yang!" he greeted.
He walked over to her with a smile. He kissed her cheek. No, he didn't mind spending time with her one bit. If she was happy, so was he. If it made her happier to have a bike, then they were getting her a bike.

Yang smiled as Adrien greeted her with a friendly hello and a kiss on the cheek. He seemed to be in a cheerful mood. Then again, he usually was when he was around her. If anything, she was the same. They just made each other smile. "Hey," she greeted back. "It's funny. Last year, if someone had told me I'd be buying my own bike with my boyfriend, I'd have punched them for pulling my leg." Sure, she bought stuff for herself all the time now, but this felt different. This was a bit bigger than getting groceries or paying the electric bill. She could treat herself when she wanted, and this was her way of doing it. "Come on, let's see what they got," she said, her hand looping through Adrien's as they walked inside. The place wasn't too crowded. A customer here, an employee there. Really, what was in there the most was the selection of motorcycles and the accessories that came with them. There was quite a wide selection, and it seemed a little daunting. But, Yang knew she could take her time in looking things through and figuring out which one fit her best. She'd find a good deal, one that made both her and Adrien happy.

"I've had enough of your punches for a life time." he teased.
Adrien laughed and stepped back. He held up his hands in mock innocence. She had no reason to hit him now. He also had no reason to worry about bruising because he wasn't modeling as much anymore. He still worked a few jobs here and there, but he hadn't hired enough models to take the full schedule he used to lead. He wasn't going to put them through the same 'no social life' thing his father had.
"That is why we're here, right?"
He squeezed her hand as they started to walk into the dealership. No one was really giving them a second glance. That much Adrien was grateful for. He didn't want to ruin Yang's big shopping day by having some fan or reporter come swooping in. Plus, it was nice to do something normal for once without having people trying to crawl all over themselves to get his picture or autograph. The best part was, they had all day to find her the right bike and just catch up.

"Aw come on, this baby doesn't hurt too bad, does it?" Yang teased back, flexing the fingers of her metal arm. Of course, she knew full well that it packed a punch, even more so than her other arm. While it was good in a fight though, it could still make romantic stuff awkward sometimes. A cold metal hand didn't exactly give the same sensation as a warm soft one. She knew it didn't bother Adrien, but it nagged at the back of her mind sometimes. She tried not to dwell on it though. It wasn't a problem worth worrying over. She glanced back at the bikes, not sure where to start until a salesman walked up to them.
"Hey there folks," he said. "Looking to make a purchase? We've got quite a selection here."
"I noticed," Yang commented. "Maybe you can help us narrow it down a bit. I've only owned a motorcycle once before, and it wasn't for very long."
"Oh, so you're going to be the one driving it?" the salesman asked. "Impressive. Most of my customers are either guys trying to pick up a girl, or old geezers like me who want to relive the glory days." He gave a hearty chuckle. "So, are you looking for something sporty? Or maybe something for a long distance road trip?"
"Work, mostly," Yang replied. "Getting there, going back. Although I may use it on the job too, so I'll need something that can quickly weave through the traffic in this city. And I may be taking someone for a ride every so often." She grinned at Adrien.
"Then you'll probably want a naked bike," the salesman said, leading Yang to certain section of the store. "They've got some power, but can still be used for something like a job commute."
Yang looked over. That did seem to be the right combination of what she was looking for. She was sure she'd be using her motorcycle at some point to catch a criminal, or track one down. But she still wanted to use it for regular stuff too, like grocery shopping or just taking a casual ride to get some fresh air. She wasn't sure if one was any different from the other, but so far, none were jumping out at her.

"We both know you can pack a punch," he said. "I've been on the receiving end."
Not many guys would continue to see the girl who literally gave them a black eye. But call Adrien crazy, it only made him fall for her even more. He had never intended to get so close to Yang. He could only thank every day that he did. He felt that he was the luckiest guy on the planet for having met her, even convinced her to give him a chance. He probably still looked at her as if he were starstruck. They were helped quickly by a salesman, who didn't seem to have a problem directing them to something Yang would want.
"I'm just here to look pretty," he told the salesman with a laugh. "The bike is for her."
Adrien smiled. As long as it was exactly what she wanted, he would be happy. It was after all going to help her in her day to day life. She needed the right tool for the job, even if it took all day to find it. He might have laughed because the stereotype for women was to go shopping all day for clothes, but there they were for a motorcycle. He liked the change. Granted, he wanted to make sure she had a good helmet and perhaps a good jacket to go with the bike. Sometime to keep her safe in case she were to wipe out. High speed chases and all that.

Yang was still lost in thought, gazing from one motorcycle to the next until one finally caught her eye. It was varying shades of yellow, orange, and black, and looked pretty sleek. The salesman noticed her looking at it.
"Like that one, huh?" he said. "With bold colors like that, it'll definitely be easy to find in a parking lot." He gave a laugh. "But seriously though, this bike might be the one you're looking for. It can weave through traffic pretty easily and has a decent acceleration speed. Not the best for off-road stuff though, if that's what your job requires."
"Nah, I'll probably be in the city most of the time," Yang said. Two other bikes looked neat too: one that was purple and black, another that was bright red. Though they had minor differences between them, they were still essentially the same bike. Maybe looking alone wouldn't be enough to figure out which one she liked.
"Do you allow test runs?" she asked. "I think I want to take this one out." She patted the yellow and black motorcycle.
"Certainly," the salesman replied, obviously eager that Yang liked a bike enough to take it out for a spin. That usually meant a purchase wasn't too far away. "You just gotta sign some paperwork and wear the necessary gear. You wouldn't believe the amount of people that try to run off with these things, or take them out wearing nothing but a flimsy leather jacket." He bustled off, seeming very pleased.
Yang ran her hand along the motorcycle once before glancing up at Adrien. "Want to ride with me? Getting a perspective from the backseat might be nice." How the driver felt was important and all, but if Yang was going to take anyone out for joy rides on this, it was important to know how riders felt too.

Adrien stood back and smiled. It was best to let Yang do what she did best. He'd step in if he had to but she had this under control. She knew what she wanted. Worst comes to worse, they found a bike she wanted but had to repaint it to a color she liked. Plus, they didn't have to buy today. They could check other shops if they didn't find something here. But she apparently seemed interested enough int he wares. Unfortunately, Adrien didn't know enough about bikes to see them as anything more than just another mode of transportation.
Only Yang wanted a test run. Probably to see how it handled and if this was the right bike for her. It made sense. She wanted a bike that would move the way she wanted. However, her plan to take him out was not something he expected. He smiled meekly. The bike suddenly seemed a little more intimidating now that he realized she wanted him to ride with her. Except Adrien had a hard time saying no to her. It didn't mean he wasn't stricken with a wave of nervousness.
"Oh, uh, I've never ridden on a motorcycle before Yang," he admitted.
It was not something that his father had allowed. He was lucky enough having a garage of expensive cars. Only for Yang he would try. Except Yang needed to know what it was like with a passenger. She might have a partner with her on her bike - for work or just traveling around the town. She would need to know that the bike was the right one.
"If you want me to," he said.

"Oh come on, you'll be fine," Yang said reassuringly. "You'll barely have to do anything. You just hold onto me and I'll take care of the rest." This was the first time today that Adrien seemed a bit out of his league. But Yang felt like she could take care of him. Although she did make a mental note not to try anything too crazy. She didn't want to give him a heart attack. Signing the paperwork took almost no time at all, and after mentioning that Adrien would be coming along for the ride, he as well as Yang were given some protective gear. Yang wasn't sure if anything beyond a helmet was totally essential, but the motorcycle dealership took these measure to prevent getting sued, which she understood. The helmet wasn't as bulky as she thought it would be, and the jacket did seem pretty stylish.
"You've got about thirty minutes to an hour to test this baby out," said the salesman as he wheeled the motorcycle out into the parking lot with Yang beside him. "If you're going to take longer, call us. Otherwise, we're just gonna assume you ran off and stole it. And trust me, we have all your info. We'll find you."
"Relax buddy, I'll be back in time," Yang replied. She was glad to be past all the paperwork and the sales pitches. This was the exciting part. She looped her leg over the motorcycle, getting a feel for where all the controls were. Unlike cars, most of the important stuff was at her hands, not her feet. She revved the engine a little and it roared pleasantly, making her smile. She glanced back at Adrien. "You all set to go?" she asked.

"Okay, Yang," he consented.
Just because he was out of his realm of comfort, it didn't mean Yang wasn't. He trusted her. He supposed this was just another way to show her just that. So he did his portion of the paperwork since he would be going out as well. He barely managed to hold in a laugh when the salesman threatened them with knowing how to find them. Yeah, like his house wasn't hard to miss. Or well, hard to miss him. At least the guy was treating him like another client and was giving Yang his fullest attention.
Adrien slipped on the rental jacket. It was different from most of the other jackets he wore. He supposed this was because it was more for safety than aesthetic purposes. It wasn't fitted. The leather was incredibly thick. It smelled of oil and road. This was going to be interesting. The helmet went on next. He supposed that was lucky for him because he looked back at Yang. Seeing Yang on the bike, smiling at him like that set his skin to fire. A heated blush was thankfully concealed by the helmet. He swallowed thickly before giving a muted nod.
"No time like the present." he said.
He slid onto the bike behind her. He hesitated before he wrapped his arms around her. That was how he was supposed to ride, right? Hold on so he wouldn't fall off.

Yang smiled as Adrien carefully climbed onto the back of the bike and wrapped his arms around her. "You look cute," she said, pulling her helmet up a little so she could kiss the front of his. Then again, she'd always said that Adrien looked good in anything he wore. It was the main reason he had been such a successful model. Luckily these days, he was working behind a desk more often than in front of a camera. Yang wouldn't say it out loud, but she preferred it that way. She knew that he was still getting over all the rules his dad forced on him so he could have a good modeling career. Working behind a desk instead would be a nice change. And he wasn't being forced to pose with skinny girls all the time who looked great and had both arms intact. Yang would always feel a little bit of jealousy over that, but she wouldn't let it get in the way. That was just her insecurities acting up. She brought her thoughts back to the bike and she pulled down her helmet, making sure it was on securely and she could see clearly. "Alright, let's see what this bike can do," she said before she started the bike. It took off with a jolt, which startled her for a second, but after easing into the controls, it ran down the road a lot smoother. And Yang liked how it felt. The engine sounded good, and the bike wasn't too bulky on the road. She could actually weave through traffic pretty easily, which she knew would be handy in the future. "How does it feel back there?" she asked as she turned around to look at Adrien.

Adrien laughed. He might have returned the kiss if only it wouldn't lead to distraction. They honestly both knew it would, because theya had the hardest time focusing on anything after they started kissing. Only she would think of him and say 'cute'. But he liked that about her. Everything about her drove him insane. He supposed this was just going to be one of those things. But she could get away with anything in his books. She was his biggest weakness.
"Thanks Prince-"
He gasped in surprise when she started the bike and they took off into the streets. He gripped her a little tighter, taken back by their sudden start. He was used to more metal around him to shield him as he drove. He was pressed close to Yang as they zoomed along. She seemed to have absolute and complete control of the machine as they zipped along.
"It's uh, fast?" he replied nervously.

Adrien sounded nervous, but his grip around Yang was tight, so he wasn't about to go flying off anytime soon. "Don't worry, I won't let you fall," she said. "Just keep a tight grip and you'll be fine." She felt like Adrien was doing pretty well, considering that this was his first time riding a motorcycle. If anything, this was Yang's first time driving one legally. She weaved the bike in and out of traffic, getting a feel for the steering. Some of her turns were a bit jerky, but she knew everyone was like that when driving something new for the first time. She'd get the hang of it in time and her turns would be smoother. She came to a long stretch of road that wasn't too congested and revved the engine a little. "I'm gonna see how fast this thing accelerates. Hold on tight," she said before taking off again. The bike's speed climbed, with Yang managing to shift gears easily. It didn't accelerate as quickly as the old bike Yang had ages ago, but Yang felt like she could live with that. After all, she wasn't after a sport's bike that professionals drove.

"I know you won't," he assured her. "I trust you."
And he did. The motorcycle might not have been his first choice of vehicles, but Yang was taking to it well. The times the turns were jerky, he felt his stomach sink. But she was getting better. Yang hadn't driven a bike in a while. Considering her current circumstances (and the circumstances in which he met her). She seemed to be enjoying herself. That's what mattered the most.
"Don't have to tell me twice."
He held on just as tight as he had been. The bike picked up speed at a good pace. He could feel himself worrying despite all of that. What if someone shot at her? What if she crashed? But this was what she wanted. He couldn't protect her from every little thing that was out to get her. He certainly couldn't follow her out on her jobs just to make sure she stayed safe. He had his own business to run. Not to mention there was no way he could run fast enough to keep up with a bike and 'Chat Noir' was not getting a cat-mobile.

Yang smiled. If Adrien trusted her, that was good enough for her. Maybe he'd like motorcycles more as time went on. They were sometimes an acquired taste. Although she was also eager to show it to Shadow. He was practically the fastest guy she knew, and having a race between him and her bike might be fun. Granted, he'd probably win, but still. It'd be a nice challenge. Her hand clutched around the gas lever, until the bike was going as fast as it could while still being safe. God forbid she get pulled over on a test drive, especially now that she was a cop. That'd be embarrassing. Still, she liked how it felt, and she gave a happy whoop as they sped down the road. Even with her helmet on, she could feel the wind against her, making her hair billow behind her.
