Sunshine shifted anxiously in the shotgun of her mother's car. Funny how when she was going to Baton Rouge to catch criminals or investigate a supernatural crime it was nothing. But for something as simple as a girls' day out, she was suddenly getting a lump in her throat? She twisted a lock of hair nervously. But there were two people in the back seat that had volunteered to come and help out mich to her relief...apart from her mother, who was biting her lip to prevent an onslaught of tears. Wendy Seddon had been crying off and on ever since Sunshine announced her engagement personally, but her happiness was in those tears.
"Mom," Sunshine murmured, "I really do appreciate you doing this."
Wendy smiled, "I'm surprised your friend Elsa didn't come forward."
Adrien Agaste, a passenger in the back, cleared his throat. "Well, we came to a compromise. Elsa would help with alterations, with yours truly assisting..."
"Now don' go hoggin' the glory, suga'," Red scolded next to him.
Sunshine shook her head. Red was a last minute invite to go wedding dress shopping. Sunshine was thinking of inviting Weiss but respected that she still needed time to get over some trauma. She also wanted to invite Yang, but she had been called on a case with Pitch. Besides, having Adrien around would have been distracting. Adrien was coming along for his expertise in fashion and also to talk with the bridal salon in Baton Rouge about possible business. After introducing Red and Adrien to each other, they had been talking nothing but accesories while Sunshine and Wendy were going over wedding planning checklists.
Save the dates? Check.
Venue? Check.
Contacting a voodoo pastor? Riku was taking care of that.
Catering and a cake? Nevermore was all theirs.
The last thing was the dress. Luckily, Sunshine only had to worry about herself and her maid of honor. She had done some browsing and had already decided she was a Randy Fenoli bride. His designs fit the 'voodoo bohemian' vibe but wasn't too bad for her wallet either. There was a relator in Baton Rouge, much to her relief. So, Sunshine did what a good bride would do; collect a good entourage and plan a day trip.

The salon was white and gold every which direction. Racks with designer names in black were embedded on the wall. It didn't take long for the splintering to commence. Adrien was shaking hands with the receptionist, giving his cards out. Red was admiring the accessories and putting them up to Sunshine, frowning whenever one didn't look right and putting it back. Sunshine just stood nervously, letting it all sink in. She was really doing this. She was buying a gown.
"Excuse me, which one of you is the bride?"
The very slender looking person in black with a coiffed peach-blonde hair style came forward. The name tag read 'PEARL'. She looked at the group over her long nose. Wendy nudged the blonde over, and she just stammered.
"Um, that's me. I'm Rachel, but everyone called me Sunshine."
'Well, my pleasure Sunshine. I'm Pearl, I'll be helping you out. Who did you bring with you?"
"Well, I brought my mother Wendy, my makeup artist Red, and my fashion forward friend Adrien."
Pearl's eyes widened. "As in Adrien Agaste?"
Adrien rubbed the back of his neck. "Yeah, that's me."
Pearl made noises like a blubbering baby before asking a few questions. She rushed back with another person who Sunshine assumed was the manager. There was some back talk before Pearl cleared her throat, just now realizing who the appointment was for. "Sorry about that. Excitement took over. Now, how much were you planning on spending?"
"Um, roughly 2,000. I'm a Randy Fenoli fan, so...any chance we can look at his collection?"
"Certainly. Can I lead your party here?"

The rest of the day had been spend in a back dressing room in a lavender silk robe while Adrien, Red and Wendy scrutinized Sunshine's selections. Pearl had walked Sunshine back, asking questions. When will the wedding take place? What was the fiance like? What did she do for a living? Upon hearing that she was a member of the Others Unit, Peaarl's jaw had dropped several feet and commemorated Sunshine's courage and insisted the appointment go as smoothly as possible. What should have been a simple game of 'yes or no' quickly became a makeover.
Sunshine was shoved into various Randy Fenoli designs, walked out to the showroom, to which then Pearl and Adrien would discuss negotiating prices to be lower. Wendy's reactions were based on how many tissues she could wad. Red would have Pearl grab accessories and "jack her up". All while Sunshine just stared at her reflection each time, silent. There were four designs she openly liked.
The Rochelle was elegant but the nude underlay set it apart from other bridal gowns. It also had a gold belt and tons of flowers that made Red and Adrien argue about how to accesorize.
The Alicia had Chantiliy lace that reminded her of the culture in Bellerouge. The sparkles made her feel like a princess.
The Kathryn was a bit sexier thn the other choices, but she loved the neckline, color, and the gold belt.
Finally, the Celine was unique in its design of biases in a fit and flare.
With the final touches added by Pearl, Sunshine stared at her final decision, saying yes to...
