Adeline snickered. "Me and Pitch, the old creepy couple that live on the end of the street. We'll terrify kids for eternity," she laughed. Even though she wouldn't have the heart to do that, it was still funny to imagine. Although she wondered if the domestic life would ever suit her and Pitch. Moving in together, sharing a house or an apartment, it was kind of hard to picture them in that type of setting. Heck, it was hard to picture Pitch in any type of setting like that. He tended to stick out in any place that wasn't happy or cheerful.

"Well, hey, if that's what you want!" Axel laughed.
He couldn't argue with her on what she did or didn't want. She was old enough to make those decisions for herself. But he had got her to laugh. That was his goal. So he would chalk it up as a victory. He took a drink of his water. It was good to get out, do something different, help someone who needed it. Adeline was a good kid. He was happy to help her in any way he could.

Adeline laughed again, mostly because it made her feel better when she did. She'd needed this, maybe almost as much as the actual self-defense training. She was serious about facing Ariel herself so nobody else would get hurt, but she couldn't deny the good feeling she got when she and Axel made jokes. It lightened the burden on her shoulders, at least for a little while. Heck, maybe even after Ariel was gone, they could still do stuff like this. Learning a bit more than the basics couldn't hurt, after all.

"How about we get you home kid?" he suggested. "You did good today. We keep this up and you'll be doing better."
He wouldn't leave her alone. Safety in numbers and all that. He knew what would happen if anyone caught her alone in the streets, particularly a demon. Right now, she was likely sore from working out, tired from exerting herself so much and with that, wouldn't be able to respond to threats as quickly. He didn't want to drive paranoia into her though. She didn't need to constantly be looking over her shoulder out of the fear that this 'boogie-woman' was going to come after her. Not when she had friends who would watch her back.

"Yeah, that sounds good," Adeline replied. She'd learned enough for today. She needed to rest up so she didn't tire herself out. She knew Pitch's Nightmare was nearby, but she didn't mind having Axel nearby for her walk home. Having some company was nice, especially when so much was going on. She ran a hand through her hair as she started down the path, feeling like Axel had helped more with just her self-defense moves. He'd given her peace of mind and had made her feel a little bit better about things. She felt a little more sure of herself, and she was determined to do everything she could to make sure Ariel didn't hurt anyone she cared about.
