"Saving the whole town? That's aiming pretty high, don't you think?"
Saving an entire town with just two people? Sure change came from example but even the best of examples couldn't inspire the same reaction from everyone. She knew that for every criminal she arrested there were ten more where that came from. She wanted to do what she could to help people. But in her hesitance to open up she had done more hurting than helping.
"I... didn't really do anything though," she blushed. "I didn't save you..."

"We've got time. A single stone dropped in the ocean creates large waves" he chuckled. "Imagine what we can do, with my music and your crime solving, we can help everyone who needs it" ok, maybe he was too optimistic but with Aqua he felt like he could take on the whole world and make a huge change. He shook his head. "Aqua, you saved me from the brink of despair. You patched up my arms and you didn't have to. You remained kind and sweet and you didn't have to. You saved my soul"

"Maybe someday?" she said.
She would like to do that for the city someday. Make the grand changes that she wanted ever since she was a little girl. Somewhere that Others could be accepted. Where people like her would never feel lonely or afraid because of what they were. Omar had been so kind and had helped her with her own issues. He had been far too kind to her, more than her heart could bear.
"It was such a small thing though!" she insisted. "And the bar fight wasn't even your fault."

"Small actions make the largest impacts. A single song can keep someone from committing suicide. A single act of kindness can make or break someone. Change a perspective, change a life, which in turns changes more perspectives and more lives, until you have a whole movement based around that single act or idea or song. It's quite amazing" He chuckled. "Your single small act of kindness turned my life around. I was so angry, you threw a small stone into the wall around my heart and it caused the whole thing to tumble down, bit by bit"

"I always thought... the best way was to lead by example." she said.
She still blushed. It had seemed like a small act to her. But she could see how that could be a big thing for someone like Omar. Who had only been used and abused by faeries his entire life. Her species. Her job occupation. People in both positions had only ever been cruel to him. Especially after the loss of his wife and son. It was a difficult time for him. He should have someone who was there for him to help him through those times. But they were together now. They could help each other through their hurts.
"I never wanted you to be hurt like that."

"Isn't that what the greatest movements have been based on? Examples of great men and women?" He looked down. "Nobody wants to be hurt, or others to be hurt. It is what it is. But...thank you. For being kind" she had no idea how that had impacted him, his life. How he hoped it would impact the life of his daughter. "I want to...I don't know. But I want to make a statement, you and I, together"

Aqua couldn't help but blink in owlish surprise. Thanking her for being kind was like thanking her for just existing, for merely breathing. Back when she though fey were black and white. That being kind was something she was just supposed to do. When her parents filled her head with love and kindness until her heart burst. Stories of wonderful fey who had helped people and asked for nothing in return. Until the moment it all came down. Or rather her bubble burst when she lost them. And after that, being kind was all she had left to honor them by.
"I think one has already been made." she fessed.
That Omar, despite his species, loved her, despite her species.
