Elsa picked up her head just slightly. The brokenness in her eyes was still there. Thanks to her, the world was going to end. At least, that was what she assumed was the case from what Shadow and Sunshine had explained. It also explained the huge bout of depression. She made no movements, just staring at Jenna with her eyes. Her hand slid from her knees so she wasn’t huddled like a homeless person. “All right.”

Jenna nodded and slowly walked toward her friend. She was careful to approach Elsa's side and not head on. Once she was beside her she gently leaned against her, hoping to warm and comfort her. After a few seconds, she asked, "I hate to pry, but, do you have any idea why she chose you?"

The slight pressure and warmth of a hearthound pressing against her became evident. Elsa flinched ever so slightly. Even as a child, she had a small fear of being touched, because she feared her ice powers would hurt someone. As she grew older and more confident, it went away, but sometimes it would still come up. Jenna was careful and gentle, and Elsa brought one arm to pull into a one-sided hug. "I have no idea. She showed me everything that had and still does give me great sorrow."

Jenna leaned against the arm that Elsa was hugging her with. She stayed silent for a few minutes, just letting her presence comfort her friend. She also used this time to figure out how she could help and advise Elsa. The first thing she needed was more information in order to help. "Don't take this the wrong way, I'm just trying to help, but could you give me some examples? I can't really give advice if I don't know all the details." She said looking at her friend trying to gage her response.

Elsa hesitated. Thinking of it was enough to get that chill again. She slowly slid one hand off of Jenna. Heaven forbid she accidentally hurt her friend with her anxiety. Adding it to all the accidents she had caused in the past; the ones Lilith took joy in exploiting to her face. She took a shuddering breath and glanced at the ice going through the office. The blinking of granite crystals was subtle, but it still made her realize where she was. "I...there were so many cops and Others that needed my help; I couldn't save them. People are dead because of me, Jenna."

"You can't possibly think that you can be everywhere at once," Jenna explained. "It's not possible to save everyone. Besides, think of all the people you've helped. Like Wiess, Ralph and me." She said leaning against her friend. She also fluffed up her fur when the temperature dropped again.

"But everyone else can be. You can use portals to go anywhere you please. You are able to sense the emotions of someone and be there for them like you are now. That's your strength, Jenna." She scrubbed her tear-streaked eyes. A list of names had been dropped. Weiss...the closest thing she had to a sister, nearly falling into the clutches of shadows but being saved from an abusive family because of Elsa's determination. Jenna, who was nearly killed but given a home by someone equally lonely. Ralph, who was different even in a group made of anomalies.

"The portals only help me get to places that are far away quicker. I still can't be in more than one place at a time." Jenna reminded Elsa. Her ears twitched as she heard a slight change in her friend's heart. It seemed that her bringing up the people Elsa had helped was bringing her friend out of her funk. "Not to mention all those people you helped when you won their cases," Jenna said.

"But still...it gets you to places quicker. Me...I can't do that." She had nothing left to pour out. Her entire body felt empty, like it was just a shell of what she had been. Jenna was helping, somewhat, and she brought up the cases that had been won. Well, that was true. There had been more wins than losses. The darkness and cold was slowly thawing, making way for the warmth. What was she doing feeling sorry for herself? People were being hurt. The end of the world was no excuse to sit and mope.

"Well, I can't make snow out of thin air," Jenna said with a smile. Even though she could tell that Elsa was still sad, she could also tell that her friend was fighting against the sadness. Or at the very least, pushing it to the back of her mind. The important thing was that Jenna had been able to help bring her friend out of the Demon's power. (End thread?)
