Even though the laugh wasn't that humorous, Jenna's smile widened and her tail wagged slightly. Her tail wagged more at the thanks. Hoping to keep the topic in a good direction, she tilted her head. "So you and Pitch huh? I'm glad to hear you've got someone to love." A flash of sadness crossed her eyes for a millisecond. Would she ever get over Shadow?

So, Jenna did know about her and Pitch. At least Adeline could skip over the awkwardness of telling her. "Was it easy to notice?" she joked. Axel pretty much knew before Adeline told him. Same thing with her parents. It hadn't been too much of a surprise to them. The only thing that got them close to upset was that Adeline had kept it a secret for so long. However, the sad look in Jenna's eyes didn't go unnoticed by her. "Not lucky in the love department?" she asked. She wondered if there was anything she could do to help. Sure, she wasn't exactly an expert. Pitch was her first serious boyfriend. But she wanted to try.

"I can hear your heart." Jenna gently reminded Adeline with a smile. "And when someone has a significant other whom they love, like you, the heart gives a very distinctive sound." At Adeline's question, her ears drooped. "You could say that. Being what I am, I don't think he'll love me." She murmured looking at her paws.

"Oh. Right." Adeline hadn't thought of that. Of course Jenna would be able to tell that way. Adeline's heart practically gave a little flutter anytime she thought about Pitch, let alone mentioned him. She had to remember that her friends and family were more observant than she gave them credit for. She felt like that had more pros than cons though. Some people might not like being read easily like a book, but Adeline found it comforting at times that her loved ones could tell when something was on her mind just by looking at her. She didn't really have to say much and they seemed to understand, especially Pitch. Jenna didn't seem to have found someone like that yet though. Adeline was quiet for a moment before responding. "I used to think the same thing. I thought I was going to be alone forever because of what I was. Pitch did too, I think. But we wound up finding each other anyway." She looked back at Jenna. "Bellerouge has a way of bringing people together. I'm sure it'll do the same for you, in time." In a way, she and Pitch were both monsters. Their demon natures made them deadly and terrifying. Yet they'd found love in each other. If that could happen to them, then Adeline felt like the same could happen to Jenna one day.

Jenna tilted her head as she debated whether to tell Adeline about Cruella's offer. After all, Adeline had told her a lot about the things that troubled her. Besides, maybe she could give her some advice that would help her finally come to a decision. "Well, the problem I have is I don't know how he feels about me." She said.

"Unspoken feelings can lead to a lot of drama," Adeline replied. "Believe me." She still remembered those days. She had felt her attraction to Pitch growing, but hadn't said anything for fear of Pitch's reaction. Pitch had taken things one step further and had tried never seeing Adeline again in an attempt to deny his feelings for her. It had lead to a lot of sadness and heartbreak, on both sides. And really, the only way they'd gotten back together was Adeline going up to Pitch's face and yelling about how much of a jerk he had been. It hadn't been the most auspicious beginning to their relationship.

"There's another problem." Jenna murmured. "I've had someone give me an offer, to help. But the price is a bit too steep for me. But I'm getting desperate." She said with a slight whine in her voice.

Adeline glanced up. "What kind of someone?" she asked suspiciously. If it was some wizard or witch trying to screw Jenna over with a love potion or something, she was going to put a stop to it. Magic could never make real love. Any love it made was artificial and never lasted long. She didn't want Jenna to try something like that.

"Half vampire half werewolf," Jenna said quietly. "She..... offered me the use of, as she puts it 'the finest Sapien from her stash'. To make me human." She explained. No matter how many times she explained this she still felt ashamed. Ashamed that she had even considered taking the other lupine up on the offer.

Adeline blinked. Sapien? That crazy drug that could turns Others into humans? She'd heard that it was still circulating in the city, though it wasn't nearly as bad as when it had first been discovered by the public. She still remembered Others getting sneaked up on, and getting the drug inside them against their will. Pitch had been a victim of it, and it was the first time Adeline had really seen him vulnerable. Being a human instead of a demon had made it much harder for him to turn off his emotions like he usually did. Would Jenna be desperate enough to take it, in order to have a better of chance of hooking up with this person she liked? Anyone would say that taking a dangerous drug for love was stupid. But Adeline knew first hand that love could make you do foolish things. "Sapien seems to have more cons than pros, in my opinion," she said. "Changing who you are is an unnerving experience." Heck, Adeline knew that first hand. She'd gone from a regular witch to some weird demon/witch hybrid thanks to Thrax. Those first few months after she'd changed had been terrifying. She'd had to handle figuring out what she was, on top of trying to keep her demon side under control so she wouldn't hurt anyone. Granted, Sapien never changed someone permanently, and some people were better than others at handling that change. Adeline just worried about how Jenna would react to it all.

Finally a straight answer! Jenna thought. While it didn't exactly help with the issue of her crushing on Shadow, it did help her with the dilemma about taking the drug. At least from Cruella. "I also told Elsa, my friend and she offered to get me some Sapien that wasn't tainted. She's already helped me with so much, I don't want to impose on her. Plus there is the question about if changing myself for love would even be worth it." She said glad that she was actually getting somewhere.

Elsa...Adeline had heard the name before. The woman was known for being a pretty good lawyer, and fighting for the underdog. Weiss spoke very highly of her. If Elsa had made the offer of getting Jenna some non-tainted Sapien though, did that mean that she was okay with Jenna going through with this? She knew Sapien was slowly being used in ways that could help people. If an Other had to enter the witness protection program or something, becoming human for a while might throw off anyone looking for them. But changing who you were just to try and get with someone, Adeline felt like she wasn't a fan of that. "If it was me, I wouldn't do it," she said honestly. "Sapien may make you human, but in the end...it won't last forever." She'd read tons of stories where people pretended to be someone they weren't in order to reach their goal, and it never ended well. Aladdin tried to be a prince, but everyone found out he was a street rat. Cinderella looked like a princess at the ball, but it went away once the clock struck 12. They ended up being loved for who they were, not who they pretended to be. Adeline felt like the same could happen to Jenna, if she just gave it a chance.

Jenna nodded thoughtfully at Adeline's words. She should have come to Adeline with her problem first. As helpful as Elsa and Sunshine had been, the fact that neither of them had giving her a definite answer was less than helpful. Besides, Adeline and her had a lot in common. "Thank you Adeline." She said with a smile and a wag of her tail.

Adeline wasn't sure if Jenna 100% agreed with her, but it looked like she appreciated her honesty at least. That had to count for something. Honesty was usually the best policy in these cases. At least, Adeline felt that way. She'd gone through too much hardship because she wasn't honest about her feelings. She kept things like guilt and hurt shut up inside so much until she exploded, sometimes literally. She wanted to change that. "No problem," she said, giving a smile in return. At least both her and Jenna were feeling a little better after their talk.
