Weiss figured it took about thirty minutes after Riku left the house for her to start getting a little stir crazy. Just sitting in the apartment, cooped up while everyone else fought demons and whatever else was running around, it didn't feel right. Weiss hated being idle. She wanted to do something. And demon-proofing Riku's apartment only helped so much. So, she decided to demon-proof anywhere she could. After packing a backpack with charms, potions, and spell books, and making sure she had her sword, she set out to help. If anyone was worried about their apartment or house being invaded by monsters, she offered to add some protection, whether it was a charm hanging above the door, or a literal magical barrier she made herself. She figured anything she did could keep smaller demons out, and slow down the bigger ones. At the moment, she was just finishing up a house where a small family of four lived. So far, she hadn't encountered any monsters while out and about, but it was only a matter of time before they showed up. She kept telling herself that she could put up a pretty good fight with her magic and sword. And if things got too hairy, she'd make her way back to Riku's apartment. The last thing she needed was a repeat of what happened when she faced Thrax on her own. Shaking the memory off, she started going through her backpack, seeing what she had left.

Aqua had been sent out for supplies for the Agreste manor. Many people who had lost homes or were in areas infested with demons had evacuated there. But they would eventually run out of things they could use. Food and water were essentials. Aqua volunteered to take care of that. She had a bag slung over her shoulder. She had long since given up her gun for her sword. She had no choice in these streets. They were worse than when she and Riku had gone on patrol. Demons were literally attacking and killing everyone they crossed paths with. She stiffened when she heard a noise. She cautiously made her way around the corner. Instead of a demon she saw -
"Weiss!"

Weiss kept an ear out for demons or any other monsters approaching as she rifled through her backpack, so it surprised her when instead, she heard a voice call her name. And it was familiar one as well. Her head shot up to see that it was Aqua. A smile broke out over her face and she felt a little bit of relief for the first time in hours. "Aqua!" she cried happily, giving her friend a hug. "Are you doing okay? Is Riku alright? Has anyone figured out what's going on?" The question tumbled out at top speed, but Weiss felt like she needed to know.

Aqua was surprised by Weiss' hug but she hugged the younger girl back. It was good to see that people were doing okay. Especially other people that she knew. She pulled back to look Weiss over. She wasn't hurt. She didn't look like the battered people hiding at the Agreste manor or the fearful survivors that Aqua had guided to safety. Weiss was doing just fine on her own though Aqua felt guilty that Weiss had been alone.
"I... haven't seen him since he and Rapunzel left for their honeymoon. I hope they're still in Paris." she said.

"Unfortunately, they're not," Weiss said with a sigh. "They made it back just in time for the apocalypse." She wasn't sure how she'd feel if Riku and Sunshine were still in Paris. On the one hand, keeping them away from all the terrible monsters running around would be safer. At the same time, not having them around would make Weiss feel a lot more frightened. Selfish as it was, she felt better knowing they were out there, doing their best to keep people safe. If they had been overseas during all this, they'd probably feel guilty that they hadn't been here to help. "A lot of people around here are choosing to stick it out in their homes rather than leave," she said. "I've been offering some magic stuff to give some extra protection." She held up her backpack to show Aqua.

"I was afraid of that... I had hoped though." Aqua sighed.
She had yet to run into Riku, but it wasn't to say he wasn't still out there fighting against the demons. It just meant she hadn't found him yet. The town was large and there were lots of incidents to put down. The police were stretched thin, as were the people. Riku and Sunshine were both strong people. If anyone could pull through this, it would be them. This whole situation had her worrying. Demons had burst in through their door the day it happened. Thanks to Shadow's warning, Aqua had some time to prepare so she made sure Namine and Lancelot were home with her before they fled, fighting their way through the city to Adrien's house.
"I'm with Adrien," Aqua said. "He's taking in anyone who lost their homes in the attacks. I'm on a supply run..."

Weiss had to smile. Of course Adrien would use his big mansion as a safe haven. It was exactly the kind and selfless thing he would do during the middle of a city-wide crisis. Weiss wondered what her parents were doing in their mansion. Probably closing the doors and holing themselves up with a "every man for himself" attitude. No doubt they had a good combination of technological and magical security to arm the place like a fortress. "Have there been any monsters spotted in this area?" she asked. "They sound like they're everywhere, but I haven't spotted any yet..." Not wanting to jinx herself, she looked around, but still saw no signs of any danger.

"A few but nowhere near as bad as the lower half of the city," Aqua said.
She had been careful and watching constantly. The thing was, she couldn't arrest the demons. She actually had to fight to kill or at least cripple them long enough to get away. The prison was overrun, so even if she did arrest them, there was nowhere to put them. The lower city was all but unprotected with Adrien taking in the displaced. The hospitals were crowded. The police were stretched thin.

Weiss gave a shudder. She didn't even want to think about what was going on in the Garcon Perdu area of the city. It was already a criminal hot-spot in the city. And with the apocalypse going on, it was probably like the Purge down there. She hoped any innocents in that area were somewhere safe. Or had gotten out of there fast. "Maybe we should take a breather while things are calm?" she suggested. Her magic power had been used a lot and she didn't want to overexert herself. And no doubt Aqua had been running around like crazy since all of this began.

Aqua nodded. There was no guarantee of safety when they were out and on the streets. Not with demons on the lose like this. Aqua had yet to meet a demon who wasn't dangerous. But things were slow. They needed to keep up their strength as much as possible. Because when things were slow it always promised there was trouble coming shortly thereafter. There was a park bench not too far off so Aqua motioned to it. They could sit, watch and listen for any signs of danger, but still regain their strength.
"I've got some food on me if you need something." she said.

Aqua seemed to like Weiss's idea, and the two of them were soon sitting on a bench, relaxing while they could. Aqua offered her some food and she gave a little nod. "That sounds good," she said. A little snack might help give her a bit more energy. Doing magic for the last couple of hours had drained her a bit. She knew she couldn't run herself into the ground though. That would only put her in danger. She hoped everyone else she knew was safe. Riku, the rest of her friends...and Wally. Thinking about Wally made Weiss's stomach twist a little though. So far, she hadn't told anyone else that she liked the guy. She'd still been trying to come to terms with it when the apocalypse started. After that, she'd shoved it into the back of her mind. Love troubles weren't really important when the end of the world was going on. She hoped he was doing alright.

Aqua reached into the bag and pulled out a bag of chips. They were likely out of date because new shipments hadn't come in since the 'end of days' started but food was food at this point. They couldn't be picky about what they had. Right now she was just a supply runner. Grabbing what she could out of abandoned homes and shops (with the permission of the owners of course) to take back to the mansion. Adrien had a lot more mouths to feed at this rate. But even Adrien wouldn't turn Weiss away if she needed help. Aqua just wanted to make sure that Weiss knew that she could always fall back to the Agreste Manor should she need to.
"You seem to be doing okay," Aqua commented. "You haven't been hurt, have you?"

Weiss dug into the bag of chips Aqua handed her, although her confused feelings over Wally didn't help her stomach much. She wondered if Aqua could tell if something was on her mind. Weiss was good at hiding some things better than others. She'd kept her shadow spirits a secret for a long time. A crush on a boy on the other hand...she worried that she could be read as easily as a book. "Nope, I've been fine," she said. "This area hasn't seen too much craziness. Most of the people I ran into were more scared than hurt." Heck, some of them had probably thought maybe the monsters had finally shown up when Weiss knocked on their door, asking if they needed extra magic protection. At least none of them had opened the front door while shoving a weapon in her face.

"People banded together to try and keep one another safe," Aqua replied. "But there are too many even for the police to handle."
It wouldn't be long before the city was overrun. Before supplies that were in the town were gone and the demons began to leak into neighboring cities. She was still no closer to finding a way to stop the demons than she had been when they first came to the town. They were surviving but that was the base of it. There was nothing they could do other than that. Just fight and hope to live to see another day. It was frightening. But they had to keep up hope. If they gave into the fear then they would be lost.

Weiss gave a smirk. "You gotta give it to Bellerouge: We may act like jerks to each other sometimes, but we really know how to come together during a crisis." She remembered something similar happening after Thrax had busted up a prison and several people had escaped. The city had come together to repair the damage and just try to put the whole incident behind them. They couldn't linger over every single little bad thing that happened, or they'd never be able to move on. Bellerouge was unique that way. It knew how to keep pushing forward.
