Dimitri hadn't said anything since he had gotten into the car. Then again, he didn't need to. Neither he nor Jim particularly liked this time of year. Christmas was fine, so was New Years, it was the time leading up to it that the brothers weren't too fond of. Add to that charming fact that the world had fallen to Hell, literally.
Once they came to the gates of the cemetery, Dimitri stopped the car. He let out a long sigh before getting out of the car. Jim followed shortly after. Both of them went to the trunk and got out a duffel bag, a bag of weapons and a six pack. Exchanging a nod they entered the graveyard.
It didn't take them long to find the path that they took every year. Thankfully it hadn't changed that much even with the Apocalypse. It took even less time to get to where they were going to. The two bothers looked at the three graves in silence. Even after ten years, it still didn't get easier.

Yang felt like she'd been stuck on an endless cycle ever since the apocalypse started. She'd head to some of the areas that were hit hard with monsters and take some out. She'd make her rounds and check on her loved ones. She'd sleep at her place, or Adrien's, or the police department. Then, she'd start it all over again. She had a feeling they were close to finding Shadow and putting an end to all this. They just had to hold up until then. At the moment, she pulled up to the graveyard and headed inside. She found monsters here pretty often and they weren't too hard to take out. Not to mention, she didn't want them desecrating anyone's remains. She knew Maria's grave had been looked over a dozen times to get all possible hints about how to rescue Shadow, but Yang couldn't help but pass by it anyway. It was where the whole mystery had started, after all. She just hoped that it could be finished soon. The sound of footsteps caught her eye and she whirled around. To her relief, it wasn't monsters, but some officers she knew very well. "Hey guys," she said, hoping she didn't startle Dimitri and Jim. The graveyard could make anyone feel jumpy, especially during a time like this.

Elsa tried in vain not to cry. The sadness seeping through her was too much to handle. This damn curse. It was making her one of the worst people to be around. The good news was whenever she walked, the ice was too weak to truly fractalize in the heat. The frost would start before turning into water the minute it touched humidity. She had gone to her parents' grave, sure but there was one final grave she had gone to check out. It was a visit that she had to address to Aqua sometime soon. But Aqua was far too busy saving the world, as was someone else. She heard the sounds of gunfire and ducked behind a mausoluem. Yang was walking by, greeting someone. She took a breath when she recognized the colt brothers. Finally bracing herself, she walked over.
"Hello."

Great just what they needed, company. Both brothers looked up at the sound of Yang's voice. Before they could respond, the voice of Elsa caught their attention. Jim managed to not give any reaction, Dimitri let out a soft groan. The last thing either wanted was sympathy from anyone, which was why they tended to do this yearly trek in the dead of night when everyone was asleep.
"Hey." Dimitri said seriously. Normally he would be all smiles, even in the graveyard, but not this time. Jim subconsciously stepped so he blocked the names of the small graves.

Yang soon realized that she wasn't the only one to stumble upon Dimitri and Jim. Elsa was there too, and she wasn't looking so good. "Elsa!" Yang exclaimed. "Are you sure you should be out here? You..." Her voice trailed off as she suddenly felt unsure what to say. She'd heard that Elsa had been attacked by some sort of demon, but Yang hadn't looked into any further details. She wasn't sure if Elsa should be out here if she was still recovering from it. But maybe she had some business here as well? It looked like her, Jim, and Dimitri were taking the opportunity to visit some graves, although she had no idea whose.

"Jenna said confining myself to my home would only make the sadness worse. She was right. If I stayed there any longer, the Others Unit would have to rely on being defended by a popsicle." She ran a hand over her braided hair with a small shudder. She had stopped shivering ever since the humidity hit her skin, so she was better. "What are you all doing here in the cemetery?"

"Jenna normally knows what she's talking about." Jim acknowledged Elsa's comment. He glanced at his brother, who was getting visibly agitated at being interrupted. "Family stuff." Jim said quickly hoping to diffuse the building tension. "What about you?" He asked turning to Yang.
Dimitri walked to where his brother was standing. Let Jim do the talking, that was the best option. He gave his brother a small smile as a way of thanking him for blocking the names. The last thing the older brother wanted was anyone's sympathy. People died it was a way of life. And those who were left behind deserved to be left to deal with their feelings without judgement. His shoulders tensed a little at hearing Jim say "family stuff." Dimitri prayed that the comment wouldn't lead to more questions.

Yang could understand that. Her friends had encouraged her to do the same thing when she'd lost her arm. Shutting herself away wasn't going to do much good. Of course, back then, she hadn't had the end of the world to deal with. Elsa asked what they were doing here and Jim's only reply was that it was family-related. Yang raised a curious eyebrow. Come to think of it, she didn't know anything about Jim and Dimitri's family. She had no idea where they'd come from or what their family was even like. Dimitri hadn't said anything at all, which was a rarity for him. Usually, the guy was pretty laid-back and was always open for conversation. Yang was brought out of her thoughts though when Jim asked what she was doing here. "On the lookout for monsters," she replied, resting a hand on her hip as she glanced around. "They seem to like it here. I've been coming by and taking them out so they don't disturb anything." She looked at the graves Dimitri was near. She hoped they hadn't gotten messed up during all this.

Elsa sighed. “Good. The last thing we need are graves being disturbed. You never know what kind of hoodinor charms could go south if a tombstone got cracked.” Okay cracked was maybe too light of something that could happen to graces. She had seen several wards being hung up around the sites. She would hate to see the dead be disturbed worse than they already were

Dimitri tensed slightly at seeing Yang raising her eyebrow. The brothers had never really told anyone about their family. For one they didn't really have any. At least, not anymore. Secondly it wasn't anyone's business. They hadn't even told Sunshine who was the friendliest person on the planet.
"Makes sense." Jim said. "There's a lot of things they can mess with around here."
The three graves hadn't been messed with. They really were too small to be bothered with. Each grave was nothing more than just a small flat square of granite with the names and dates of birth and death on them. At most all the brothers had to do were pluck moss off the graves.

Elsa had a good point. Wards were frequently placed on graves around here. If one of them was activated, who knew what would happen. She didn't get a good look at the graves Dimitri and Jim came to visit, so she wasn't sure if wards were on them. Maybe getting some at a time like this would be a good idea. Dimitri still hadn't said a word though, and that worried Yang. "You doing okay Dimitri?" she asked him.

Elsa stole a glace to Dimitri. It'd be strange seeing him as quiet and reserved as he was. Yang asked what was going on, and the lawyer knew maybe this was a personal matter. "I should go," she murmured quietly. "Hope you all get home safe."

"I'm fine." Dimitri almost snapped. He felt his brother putting a calming hand on his shoulder. "I said I'm fine Jim." He said to his brother as he knelt down to clear some debris off of the middle grave.
Jim was torn between wanting to tell the two about what they were doing, or just helping Dimitri calm down. Hoping to calm his older brother, he handed him a bottle of beer. "Here."
