Now that the demons were gone, the city was trying to return to normalcy. Which was ironic because nothing about the city was normal. Because even in a city like theirs just because the whole town was overthrown it didn't mean crime slept. And with news of Adrien's kidnapping the people were ill at ease. Most of all Yang and Namine. The two blondes were distraught. Aqua was doing what she could to track down leads but all she were finding were small fish. Nothing substantial. Nothing that would lead them to Adrien. She grimaced and hung up the phone. Another anonymous tip. She hoped this one lead somewhere.

Jenna walked into the room with a disappointed huff. There had been no leads on her end. It could be the fact that she didn't know Adrien well enough to track his heartbeat or his scent, but she still should have been able to find something.

Aqua sighed and got to her feet to go get a cup of tea. She needed something for her nerves, however, she stopped when she noticed something at desk height walk past her.

Jenna's ears turned at the sound of another heart in the room. She had been so lost in her own thoughts that she hadn't checked if the room was occupied. She turned toward the sound and looked slightly up.

Aqua rounded the corner of her desk and nearly stepped on someone. In alarm, she sprang back. Blinking in surprise when she found a wolf. She glanced around, waiting for someone to laugh at her or to come check at least. No one did.

And there it was, the fear. Any other Hearthound would revel in the fear. Wait, no fear was too strong a word. Jenna's ears angled to where the persons heart was. The blue haired girl seemed more startled than afraid. "Sorry." Jenna said. "I should have checked if anyone was using the room." She sat down and wagged her tail to show that she wasn't a threat.

"No, it's okay..." Aqua said slowly. "I just thought I was the only one here this late."
She was a part of the day shift and while they did have night shift officers, staying this late was out of the norm for someone like her. But she was trying to get caught up on work. She had even sent Riku home early to his wife. She was trying to avoid going home herself because then there would be the awkwardness of her failing relationship with Omar... She shook the thought aside.

Jenna's ears twitched at the troubling sounds of the blue-haired woman's heart. Something was clearly troubling her. "I'm Jenna." Jenna introduced herself. "I'm kind of working late too." She explained.

"I'm Aqua. It's nice to meet you," she said.
Aqua pushed her papers aside, deciding that she wouldn't be getting much done now. It wasn't a bad thing. She was just starting to feel her fatigue but talking to someone wouldn't hurt. Besides, she was trying not to dedicate her entire existence to work. She was trying to live a little. But doing the paperwork meant she wouldn't have to come in over the weekend.
"What has you here so late?"

Jenna nodded her head in acknowledgment of Aqua introducing herself. "I assume it's the same as yours. Trying to get work done and the lack of leads." She had heard about what had happened recently. Who hadn't? "Being a dog only helps if you know the scent of the person your tracking."

"Getting caught up on paperwork. My coworker went home to his wife already."
She had gone back to throwing herself into work. Riku disapproved, but she wasn't nearly as bad as she used to be. It kept her mind off of how quiet her apartment was now that Namine moved out and Omar stopped visiting.
"It's strange how we've never run into each other before! A nose like yours must be invaluable."

"That's not exactly why I work here," Jenna said looking to the side. "I have .... really good hearing. Better than other canines." Her eyes lit up with pride at that statement. "Are you ever involved in the interrogating?" She asked. "That's usually where I am."

"No I work the street," Aqua explained. "I'm better at investigating."
She only worked in interrogation if it was in line with her investigations. She had a lot of captures. Until recently, she had worked to deal with her own depression. She had recently learned that she had to find better ways of coping with loss and pain, but was on the road to recovery. That being said, she still had bad habits like working late to finish paperwork. Though this was done so Riku could go back home to Sunshine.
"Though, I am surprised we haven't crossed paths. You've probably had to work with a few of the guys I've brought in."
