Yang's motorcycle roared loudly as she pulled up to the coffeehouse. While most people in her situation would have sold the thing in order to get some money, Yang would never do something like that. Her motorcycle was her prime way of getting around here, and it sure beat walking around a ton and getting blisters on your feet. Sure, some people had tried to steal it in the past, but once they had been on the receiving end of Yang's fire blasts, they hadn't tried again. It seemed like she was spending a lot of time at the coffeehouse lately. Maybe it was because it was always warm and comforting. Not to mention, their muffins were totally awesome. Yang always had to get one whenever she came here. She walked into the coffeehouse, running a hand through her long blonde hair. It didn't take her long to spot her friend, whom she had decided to invite so they could spend a little time together. "Omar, my man, what's going on?" she said with a grin on her face.

Omar had to give a grin when he had received the invitation to have coffee with Yang. It had been a welcome distraction from the two jail times in as many days and almost losing his band over a bar fight. He had managed to patch things up with his band and they were continuing to play together, which he was incredibly thankful for. He had seriously been worried that the Bilge Rats had played their last concert together when he had gotten into that stupid fight. Omar got to the coffeehouse a bit early so he could have a few minutes to think and write down song ideas. Though when Yang burst in Omar immediately knew it and waved her over, grinning. "Oh not much. Got out of jail recently for a fight but other than that nothing much at all"

Yang stuck her tongue out. "Bleh. That doesn't sound like fun. Who'd you beat up?" she asked. Spending the night in a cell sounded boring, but she always loved a good story that had a fight involved. Maybe it was because she was pretty good at it herself. Kickboxing mixed with fire powers was a nice combination. "I need to get myself into a fighting ring or something soon. I need some extra cash." While the fights were probably not legal, Yang considered it a better option at stealing. In her mind, winning a fight was more honorable because, in a way, she had earned the money herself, even if that involved giving out a few bruises and maybe a broken nose.

"A demon that apparently goes by the name Vanitas" he scowled and sipped at his coffee-a white-chocolate iced mochachino with whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles. Maybe it was a 'girly' drink, but his ex had gotten him hooked on the taste so he always had it whenever he came to the coffeeshop. Partly in memory and partly because it was his favorite drink. Omar pointed a warning finger at the girl and wagged it warningly. “Eventually you’re gonna run into an enemy stronger than you are in those rings. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again. Why don’t you come be a roady for my band? we could use your strength carrying those amps and stuff”

Yang's cheerful demeanor instantly fell when Omar mentioned Vanitas's name. She gritted her teeth and her hands curled into fists. "That bastard," she muttered. "He didn't possess you, did he?" Vanitas had done that to her once, and it was not fun. Granted, he hadn't made her do something like kill an innocent person. But still, he had been in control of her body and had made her do a pretty bad thing. It had been her first lesson out on the streets. She glanced at Omar's drink before turning to the counter and just saying "Same." An iced mochachino sounded pretty good right now. She shook her head at Omar's offer to help out with his band. "Thanks, but no thanks. I like putting my skills at work," she replied. "Besides, every time I lose, I learn something that'll help me get better."

Omar sat back in his chair when Yang got angry and shook his head. "Naw. We just got into a bar brawl. He seemed really pissed off he got caught by the cops, honestly" Omar should have known better than to piss him off further but he had been rather ticked at the demon too. He hadn't planned on spending the night in a jail cell, thank you very much. Omar showed Yang his bandaged arms. "He threw a glass bottle at my head is about all he did" Omar said with a slight shrug. Omar smiled and sighed. "How did I know you were gonna say that? But if you're strapped for cash, don't be afraid to come asking for a temporary job. We'll hook you up till you can find a good fight"

Yang actually felt relieved to hear that. A bar brawl was easy to get over. You just had to let time do its work and heal any bruises or scrapes you got. She felt satisfied when Omar said Vanitas got nabbed by the cops. "Good. Maybe they'll teach him a lesson," she said. She wasn't the biggest fan of cops, but if they could give Vanitas a little time in jail, that suited her just fine. Omar didn't seem surprised by her answer, but he made the offer again all the same, in case she needed some extra money in the future. "Yeah, yeah. Don't worry about me, Big O. The last thing I am is a damsel in distress." She gave a little smile.

Omar snorted. "I doubt it, I bet he'll be back out on the streets, doing what he always does and with a bone to pick with the friendly neighborhood troll this time too" he had no doubt that Vanitas would be out for blood. He seemed just that ticked off in the cells. He had less faith in cops than Yang and only cooperated with them because he didn't want actual jail time. He doubted they'd be able to do anything if Vanitas actually came after him. Omar shrugged at that with a smile. "Okay, okay Miss Y. You can take care of yourself I know. Just offering for times when there are no fights. I know you can take care of yourself, this is a friend to friend only sort of deal" he wouldn't offer if she was anyone else.

Yang bit her lip. There always was that possibility. Vanitas had a way of getting out of trouble, much like she did. And Yang hated him for it. "I swear, I'm gonna give him a knuckle sandwich one of these days," she said. He definitely deserved one. Odds were, she wasn't the only person he had possessed. Lucky for Yang, he had only done it to her once. She knew there were others who probably weren't as fortunate. "I gotcha, I gotcha," Yang said. She knew Omar was just trying to look out for her. But accepting help was one of Yang's fatal flaws. She rarely did it. She knew it would probably come back to bite her in the butt someday, but until then, she was going to keep doing things on her own.

"I punched him in the head, if that counts" Omar said with a grin. "It felt real good, too" It had also felt terrifying and terrible, but the pleasure of fighting was above all. "You better get me Yang. I worry about you sometimes" She was still technically a kid and he worried about all the street kids. They were kids who needed someone to look out for them, and he was willing to be one of those people.

"I guess that's good," Yang replied. Knowing Vanitas though, he probably hadn't learned anything from the encounter. Hell, he might have even enjoyed it. He liked getting people riled up. "Oh come on, I'm fine," she said. "Really. I've been doing this for a while now. And not only have I gotten the hang of it, I've gotten good at it." Yang considered herself pretty decent at what she did. Of course, a big part of that was due to her kickboxing skills and fire powers. She didn't know what she'd do without those. Her thoughts were interrupted though when her and Omar's mochachinos were ready. She grabbed hers before saying "Let's grab that booth over there." She jerked her head towards the left, where a couple of booths lay back to back. She sipped her drink, enjoying the taste of it.

Omar snorted. "Yea, I know. I just thought I'd leave the offer there" he winked. "In case you can't tell, I need a roady. If you know anybody who would be able to do the work, send em my way" He grabbed his mochachino and notebook and followed her to the booth. "So, how's life treating you my main Yang?" he asked with a chuckle and sipped on his mochachino.

"Will do," Yang promised. While she wasn't about to take up Omar's offer, she had no problem getting somebody else to do it. If they needed some money, then she was glad to point them in Omar's direction so they could get some. Yang was all for helping people. At least, those she deemed good. Anybody who was an asshole could go drop dead in a ditch. "Oh, the usual," she replied. "Nothing's changed much." She hadn't gotten any new kids in a while, and she hadn't heard of any crazy criminal stirring up trouble. She knew there were a couple of maniacs running around, ranging from mafia members to serial killers, but she wasn't scared of them. She was confident enough in her skills that she figured she could take on anyone who dared cross her. Or, at least, she could give a decent amount of damage before fleeing the scene.

"Thanks Yang" he said gratefully. He really did need a roady and it would be great to get one instead of doing all the heavy lifting himself. "I know a couple kids I could send your way" he said with a shrug. "They seem to be in a bad way and could use some guidance. That is, if you think you're up for it" he smirked and looked over at her with a raised eyebrow. He knew she would be, he just liked teasing her sometimes.

Yang glanced up when Omar mentioned there were a couple of kids he could send to her. "Hey, the more the merrier," she said. Nothing was ever too much for her to handle. And even if it was, she wouldn't admit it. She was stubborn that way. "I'm up for anything, bro. You know that," she said with a smile as she took another sip of her drink.
