Despite her encounter with Vanitas the night before, Yang was feeling a bit perkier once the sun had risen and she could get back to work. From what she could gather, nobody had found any information on the Llorona killer. That didn't make her feel a lot better, but on the plus side, no new bodies had been found. She just wished she could get the issue resolved. Any one of her kids could be the next target, and she refused to let it happen. After spending a few hours investigating though, she felt it was time for a break. So, she had grabbed a beignet from the nearby bakery and was now munching on it while sitting on a bench. She had a pretty nice view of the river, and it made her feel a little better, despite not finding any info. As she bit into her beignet, a little shower of powdered sugar fell onto her shirt. "Darn things," she muttered as she tried to brush it off. That was the problem with beignets. They were pretty damn good, but they were totally messy too.

"You know Yang if you keep eating those things you'll be lucky to actually move without a sugar crash" Esme said before plopping down beside the blonde. "You doing ok?" she asked knowing that herself was pretty affected by the murders. "Cause you know I am here if you need to talk."

Yang jumped slightly. She hadn't even noticed anybody approaching her. But she smiled when she saw it was somebody she knew. "Hey Esme," she said as she wiped some sugar off her face. "It's been a while." She and Esmeralda had met a while back, and had managed to become friends after Yang had beat off some thugs that were trying to rough her up. According to Esmeralda, things like that happened often to prostitutes, but it still made Yang angry sometimes that people got picked on for no reason at all. Luckily, Esmeralda was doing a lot better with the job she had. Yang personally wouldn't have picked the BPD, but she wasn't about to rain on Esmeralda's parade. She knew she was grateful to the place for pulling her out of the rut she was in. Besides, she hadn't let the police know what Yang was doing, so that was a plus. "I'm fine. Just...thinking," she replied. Old habits died hard, and letting someone help her with a problem was one very old habit of Yang's. She wasn't even sure if Esmeralda could help her anyway, considering that the police hadn't caught the killer yet.
