If there was one thing that Pitch absolutely despised about working in the Others unit of the Bellerouge Police Department, it was the way that paperwork always seemed to back up no matter how efficiently he filled out his reports.
It was late in the evening and the sun had gone down a few hours ago with most of the people working at the BPD heading home. However, the night still found Pitch sitting at his desk and writing up the finalized report for the illegal drug ring he had infiltrated on his last undercover case over two weeks ago. He didn't mind having to work late at the office, what with the darkness holding no fears for him, but he couldn't help and pause in his write-up to reflect on all the other, more useful things he could currently be doing with his time.
The La Llorona case was still open and, while his outer appearance to the Others Unit being dismissed from the case was one of difference, he was actually quite unhappy with the situation. There had still been no news or useful information to come through the tip lines, no suspects had been brought in for questioning, and the investigation had ground to a halt.
And while Pitch knew getting angry at the situation would solve nothing, he felt that what the case really did need was Others involvement. After all, something about the murders seemed supernatural to him, although he couldn't place it.
He continued to ponder on this for a moment, his golden eyes staring out of the window next to where he sat.

Kirk was busy examining some vital key components to some criminal activity as well. It seemed that the vampric Kirk had been working diligantly trying to match these clues with the criminal files. He noticed that one of his co workers was looking out a window when he decided to walk up. "Working on the La Llorona case?" he asked the dark shady man next to him.

Pitch's thoughts had still been focused on the way in which the murdered children's bodies had been found when a voice spoke to him from the relative darkness of the empty office space. However, far from being surprised Pitch merely turned in his chair until his golden eyes landed on the figure who had spoken. And while he rarely came into the BPD when it was occupied, the demon recognized him nonetheless.
"Ah, Dr. Langstrom. I didn't realize you were coming in this evening to the BPD."
Pitch didn't immediately answer the man's question but fell into a brief silence as he once more ran over the crime scene in his mind.
"In a way. I don't suppose you heard that the Others Unit was officially removed from the case as of this time."
Pitch suddenly pushed himself up from his seat and approached his colleague.
"The Chief feels that until supernatural evidence surfaces in the murder cases, there is no need for our unit to become involved. So for the moment I am merely completing a report on my last undercover case. Might I inquire as to what brings you into the BPD tonight?"

Kirk raised his eyebrow as he listened to the information that Pitch had added to the hand of the Others Unit. He gave a nod. When it came time to ask about what he was up to. "Found some findings today while examining some clothing. Seemed that there were some chemicals that seem to be adding a strange effect."

"Hmmmm."
Pitch added nothing more and merely stared off into the distance as Kirk spoke of his own workload and what he had managed to unearth from it.
"Have you been able to determine the chemicals found on the clothing? I would think the river would have erased any trace amount of chemicals utilized to drug the victims and Anna hasn't been able to find anything present in the bodies as of now. Unless it isn't a normal chemical...."
The demon left his sentence hanging, clearly asking without words if Kirk thought the substances were magical in origin. After all, there were any number of potions, mixtures and concoctions utilized by the supernatural residents of Bellerouge.
