Yang laughed at that idea. She and Sunshine were pretty similar. They were blondes, they both liked sweets, and they could kick someone's butt when they felt like it. "We could pull a Parent Trap and switch places, see if he notices," she joked. It probably wouldn't work in real life, but it was still funny to think about.

"Yeah, but the only difference is, you can at least make a dent with your punches." Sunshine winced, rubbing her knuckles just thinking about how hard Yang could punch. The other blonde had her soft spot, but those fists were not something she wanted. Especially given the potential phoenix powers she had. "All I can do is hold a gun and make my hair glo when I sing," she shipped her hazelnut coffee, not wanting to continue, especially given her recooperation. But even taking the drink put some unexpected side effect. In her weird trauma-esque stat, the coffee had a metallic tang to it. She didn't want to think she was imaging drinking blood, so she set it down and swallowed awkwardly.

"Eh, not everyone can be as fabulous as me, so I'll forgive you," Yang teased. She did tend to use more physical means when dealing with an opponent. She'd rather shoot a fireball at someone than shoot a gun. "So, besides busting up vampires, anything else interesting happen?" she asked. It seemed like the incident was still on Sunshine's mind and Yang hoped maybe a change of topic could perk things up a bit.

Sunshine was glad Yang was changing the subject. A lot of excitement happened in the BPD that wasn't a massive homicide. The other day, a few cops had stopped a dealing of vampire venom, which was a drug that was only used for assisting in mercy turnings; basically if a bite victim was suffering irreparable damages, venom was injected to forcefully turn them into a vamp. The venom was also used a substitute for steroids as it increased stamina and strength rapidly without increasing the size of the muscle and enlarged organs, and narcotic dealing was taken seriously in Louisiana.
"Well, we stopped a venom dealing," Sunshine mused. "Benefits of havign werewolves in the unit, it's our own K9 group. Oh,a nd Shadow and I solved a murder of two teenage girls. Who knew a heartbroken mage could turn to magic murder?"

Well, at least the BPD was solving some cases. That was good to know. Personally, Yang felt like some of the other criminals deserved justice more than she did. She was hypocritical, in that sense. She felt like her crimes weren't as bad as other people's. In her eyes, all she did was participate in illegal fights and steal on rare occasions. That wasn't as bad as murdering someone, right? "Well, glad to hear that you guys have had at least a few ups to balance out the downs," she said.

Sunshine let out a weak chuckle. She took another bite of the blondie...almost on cue, a bell rang, signaling the new arrival of the pastries officially being up for grabs. But to her, that bell was also a sign of hope. Hope that people could see what Yang saw; that Others could do good as opposed to the bad stereotypes that were being presented in propaganda and stories. "That's true," she swallowed, letting the chocolate dance on her tongue.

Sunshine seemed to be feeling a little bit better. That pleased Yang. Although she did realize that she had ended up chatting a lot more than she had planned. She needed to get going. "Well, I guess I'll let you get back to work," she said. "But I'll take a couple of blondies to go, if you don't mind," she said, pulling out some cash.

So, was Yang just sitting down to get Sunshine's trauma under wraps? That was...admittedly really sweet of her. The blonde cop wiped a stripe of chocolate off of the corner of her mouth, letting, in a while, a legitimately happy smile cross her face. Yang offered cash and the baker's green eyes shifted from the treats to the girl who worked so hard to keep kids okay. Especially now with a child targeting creep out there. "You know what," she said, "I'll give them to you half off. Just tell them Sunshine said you could and they'll let it slide."

Yang brightened up at the mention of a discount. She was always up for saving money, and she was touched by Sunshine's generosity. Then again, Sunshine was nice, inside and out. "Sweet. Thanks," she said with a grin. She quickly placed her order at the counter, and in no time, she had a couple of blondies in a bag, half off. "I'll see you around, fellow Blondie," she said with a smile as she headed out the door.

Sunshine smiled and waved after Yang, "Don't be a stranger, fellow blondie!" She settled back, watching the team curl from her hazelnut coffee. This time, she wasn't looking at it with a sense of fear or worry that a vampire would attack anymore. It was replaced with aw arm, tingling fiery feeling. ((end thread))
