Yang wasn't liking this. Not one little bit. After hearing from Sunshine that the BPD had been kicked off the La Llorona case, she had been spending a lot of time doing some investigating of her own. Lucky for her, she had a little more time to spare. The number of kids she looked after had dropped from four to two, after some of them had decided to head over to another city. Yang didn't blame them. This place could be pretty dangerous. But now, she had the two siblings Omar had found to look after. And she wanted this La Llorona killer gone, so the streets could be a little safer for them. The only problem was, getting info was difficult. Yang was doing less questioning and more wandering these days, just hoping that maybe she would run into the killer herself. She knew the odds of that were a million to one, but she figured it was better than hiding away in her hideout like a coward. She sighed as she leaned against a street pole. This was getting her no where. She felt like she was going in circles. "This is hopeless," she muttered to herself.

Odette was out and about on another jewel heist. She had been missing her pretty gems. Her precious stones for about a while now and needed to go rescue some from those crooks that didn't need to have them. She was on the roof when she noticed a young, yet somewhat familiar face. She had seen the girl from time to time walking along the street. She got lower down to the girl to watch her a bit more.

It took Yang a moment to feel like something was...off. She couldn't describe it any other way. But there was a prickling feeling at the back of her neck and she felt her adrenaline pick up a notch. She had a feeling somebody was nearby. "Hello? Is anybody there?" she called, spinning in a slow circle.

Odette continued to watch the girl. She did seem very remember. The blonde teenaged girl. "So I guess you are out on the streets, once more, hey firestarter?" she said with a smirk, remembering the girl.

Yang heard a voice address her, and it sounded familiar. She looked until she finally spotted a woman with long blonde hair, very much like her own. It was someone she hadn't seen in a while. "Hey Odette," she said, giving a small smile. "How's it going?" While Odette technically wasn't on her list of best friends, the two had worked together in the past. Odette was good at what she did, and if Yang was ever low on cash, she knew she could get a bunch after working on a few heists with her. Yang had been feeling less guilty about it over the years. The rich had plenty of money, after all. They wouldn't mind if a few of their jewels went missing.

Odette looked at the blonde haired teenager that had addressed her. She was actually relieved that Yang was okay. "Trying to keep up with the times, protecting the precious gems from those that did them harm. You know same old same old. How about you?" she said calmly and quietly. She felt no one else was around in the alley.

Yang smiled. That was typical Odette. From the way she talked about gems, she almost made them sound like they had feelings. If she weren't so rich, she probably would have been locked up in a mental hospital ages ago. But, having tons of money had its perks, one of which was that no authorities of any kind could touch Odette. At this rate, Yang felt like that protection could last her forever. "The usual, I guess. Sort of," she replied. "That La Llorona killer is still out there, and it seems like nobody cares. And the people that do care aren't allowed to work on the case." She sighed. "I swear, the police department gets me more ticked off every day."

Odette didn't seemed bothered by the killings that went on. It was bad enough that things like that happened. Humanity had hurt too many of her precious gems to even aknowledge out of rarity a certain few. She did know all too well how the city life had been so crued. "I see what you mean by the killings. The police officers don't really have a good ace up their sleeve recently." she said calmly.

Odette pretty much summed up what Yang was thinking. This whole case was a mess. This wasn't the first time Yang had seen something like this happen, though. She had seen first-hand at what happened when the police were incompetent, when they couldn't see what was under their noses. "Well, at least with them being so focused on this case, it'll leave more wiggle room for us," she said. If the police were putting all their efforts towards the La Llorona killer, it would mean Yang and Odette had a less of a chance of being caught when they were doing illegal things, like underground fights or stealing jewels.

Odette smirked a bit. "Indeed it does." she was glad that the cops never discovered their illegal activities. She was glad that her old friend was safe even if her heart belonged more to the gems. "How are those little tots that you are taking care of? Are they safe?"

Yang nodded. "Yeah, they know better than to run around after it gets late," she said. "But I'll feel a whole lot better once this killer is caught." She ran a hand through her hair. "I've been trying to do some investigating myself, but it's not going too well."

Odette was sort a glad to hear that Yang's tots were safe. "Good to hear." She was a bit worried that her old friend was going to get a bit injured. "Don't do anything so wreakless that will put those kids and yourself into anymore trouble." she said calmly.

Yang gave a little laugh. "Hey, if there's one thing I'm good at, it's giving any creeps or psychos a knuckle sandwich." More often than not, Yang could take out anyone that wanted to mess with her. Of course, this could make her cocky sometimes, especially when she ended up underestimating an opponent, but it was a lesson that she hadn't really taken in yet. Her stubbornness tended to get in the way of that.
