She hadn't come out and said it because her father used to mock her for it, belittling her and hurting her. She didn't know what could get her into trouble and what couldn't. She was still trying to wrap her mind around the fact that Omar wasn't like that. A few of the officers understood how crowds impacted her. She appreciated that they did what they could to make her comfortable, even if she felt bad that they had gone out of the way for her.
"I re-really like it," she told him.
And she did. She didn't know enough about music to comment on it further than expressing her adoration for the song. This was something she could listen to on her own. She doubted that Omar had many more like it because it wasn't his style. It was nice to know that he did do things like this from time to time.

Omar smiled fondly at Namine. She was such a good girl. Meek and quiet but still such a good girl. "If you come to a show ever and somebody starts heckling you I'll get off the stage and give them a good smack" he promised. Omar grinned at her approval of the song and nodded. He only had a couple like it. Piano was painful to listen to for him and while he knew that one day he would get over the pain, he always did, but right now the pain of the memories were still very fresh and painful. Especially when he heard the piano. But he was glad she liked the song. "It's a tribute to someone I lost" he said simply.

Namine smiled and tried her best not to laugh. She put her free hand to her lips to keep him from seeing. She had no doubt that Omar would jump to her rescue if she went to the bar. He had already walked her home twice without really needing to. But Namine was probably not likely to go to the bar. It wasn't something she considered safe. Her smile faltered lightly when he mentioned his loss.
"Your f-family?" she guessed.
He had mentioned them the night before, that they were gone. That had to be so hard. He obviously loved them a lot. But Namine, she only truly missed her mother. Her father scared her to her core. She could not be around that man, even at trial she had a hard time defending herself and had an anxiety attack after the ordeal.

Omar saw her trying not to laugh and nudged her with a smile. "Let it out. I guess it's funny but I do it for the female fans all the time. Some guys just get to rowdy when drunk, ya know?" He kind of wished he could perform elswhere, but for now a bar and random talent shows were exactly what his band needed to get off the ground, hopefully. His smile fell a bit and he nodded. "When you're immortal you lose people all the time" He started explaining. "But Cindy was different for me. She was like...my soulmate or something. I knew she was going to die, her being human, but I never expected...." He halted and shook his head. "Anyway, what were you up to little one?"

"No, it's sweet," Namine said.
She thought it was wonderful that Omar fought for the underdogs. She would liken him to the police but didn't think he would appreciate that sort of comparison, especially considering how he had treated Aqua. She would hate to see how he would treat Sunshine, who was probably the nicest officer Namine had ever met. Her expression softened. Immortal? That had to be so hard to deal with. She looked up at him slowly. She was just a human. One day she would go too... She would have given him another apology because something bad had happened to his wife and family.
"I l-like coming here for the pastries," Namine admitted before smiling and adding, "I-It's my day off."
She jumped a little when her order was called. She looked to Omar before getting up from the table, getting her things and rejoining him. Today she had gotten a peppermint hot chocolate with a white chocolate eclair.

"Thanks. I try to look out for the ones who need it. I'm super protective of kids, too. I try to get them out of bad situations when I see them in one" he said and nodded. "Duncan and Yang take care of kids so I take the street kids I catch trying to steal something to those two" He chuckled and ruffled her hair gently. "It's nice seeing you relaxing. Those cops seem to work you hard" Which he supposed was a good thing. Everybody needed a job and everybody needed to be kept busy. "The pastries are good" He nodded thoughtfully. "I'm a coffee person during the day, but the fritters and other pastries are really good here" He smiled when she jumped slightly and watched her get her things before coming back. Whatever drink she had gotten smelled pretty good, and the eclair looked delicious. "Enjoy your meal" He stated.

"I-I've met Yang." she said.
At least she thought it was the same woman. She could be wrong. The long haired blonde and fiesty girl. It was such an usual name that it was likely to be the same person. But in this city, you never really knew. She supposed it was a small town if she met someone that Omar knew too.
"Work is... hard sometimes," she admitted, "B-But it helps people."
She didn't have the nerve to be the protector herself. She could barely talk to someone let alone fire a gun if she had to or fight someone even if it was the right thing to do. She was easily unnerved and could barely stand her own ground to defend herself verbally. She wasn't cut out to be a cop, so she figured she could help the people that were.
"D-Do you want to split it?" she asked, gesturing to the eclair.

"Oh really? How'd you like her? She's not exactly everyone's cup of tea if you know what I mean" He laughed. Yang could be a bit feisty and he could easily imagine her frightening Namine, though in his less than humble opinion they would be good for each other if they ever became friends. "Hey, it may be hard but I bet you do a good job. Look at me. I stay up in order to do the work that makes my songs great" He gestured at his ipod and notebook. "As long as they appreciate you I don't have a problem" He tilted his head at the eclair and considered it before shaking his head. "Nah, you need it more than I do"

"She was n-nice," Namine said.
The girl was a bit more outgoing than Namine was, bolder for sure. But she had liked Namine's drawings and had been polite, even if she dashed away like she was in a hurry. She was a bit overwhelming to be around but Namine didn't mind. She liked Yang a lot. She wasn't sure what was going to happen if she met the girl again but she didn't mind.
"T-They do!" Namine insisted.
Perhaps not all of them, but certainly the Others unit were kind to her, perhaps because of her minor difference. Sunshine and Aqua were nice enough officers. Namine mostly tried to stay out of the way because she was afraid to get in their way. She tilted her head slightly. Perhaps he wasn't a sweets person. So she cut into the eclair and took a bite.

"Good. Yang's got a good heart, I think if you two meet again you'll get along" He was shamelessly attempting to orchestrate a friendship between the two because he felt that they would be so good for each other. Yang would bring out Namine's more assertive side and Namine might bring out a gentler side to Yang. He gave her a long look and shrugged. "Okay. Long as you say so I'll believe you"

Namine smiled. She knew what he was doing. He was talking up Yang, trying to make her sound good. Namine knew she already liked Yang, despite how bold she was. The girl was so much more outgoing than Namine. The little blonde was jealous of her, to say the least. Namine almost wanted to be like Yang, but perhaps not as violent?
"D-Do you like performing at night?" Namine asked.

"Hm? Oh, sure. Night's when I'm at my best" He grinned. "I'm nocturnal by nature because I'm a troll" He tapped his large unusual nose and pulled on one of his huge ears and winked at her. "Trolls normally have tusks of some sort but I filed mine down to not scare people so much. Kids like me regardless of what I look like. It's the parents that need convincing" He winked at her. "What time do you work best at then? Since we're on the topic"

"I-It didn't hurt, d-did it?" she asked in worry over his filed down tusks.
Namine couldn't help but feel a little sad that he felt like he had to change his appearance to fit in. She then wondered if her album cover for him shouldn't include the tusks. It might fit his whole creature of the night motif he had going for him. Namine herself preferred later starts. She could stay in bed, warm until she finally mustered the strength to pull herself out, particularly on rainy or cold days. Curled up until it was far past noon and she really knew she had to get up to be productive. And she could work late shifts at night. Sometimes it was required of her. Though she pretty much figured she turned into a pumpkin long before Omar stopped playing. The few times he caught her out late were extenuating circumstances.
"Afternoon," Namine supplied. "A-And evenings."

"Nah. Just tickled. I didn't file them down far enough to hit the nerves or anything" He pulled down his lower lip to show slightly elongated, oversized bicuspids. "They'll grow back with time, you know. Tusks never stop growing the entire time a troll is alive" Omar shrugged. "If I need to I'll just file them down again. No big deal" times and attitudes were always changing. Maybe in a hundred years people would be okay with tusks that went above the lip. If not he would just keep waiting. That was basically the whole thing with immortality. Your whole life you were pretty much just waiting. "Afternoon and evenings huh? I can see that actually. Fits you"

Namine blinked in surprise. She hadn't even noticed! She was usually so good with details, but perhaps that was because Omar didn't smile a lot. She imagined it would be hard to find a reason to smile if he was immortal and he lost his family. She didn't know if she had it in her to do the same. She didn't exactly have magic to do it either.
"Ho-How so?" Namine asked, wondering what could have made him think she preferred the twilight hour to all others.
