Omar listened to his ipod as he sipped on his chocolate chip mochacchino. It was one of his demo albums and he was listening to it to see if there was anything he needed to fix. So far he had notes in his notebook detailing different notes, different riffs and ideas for changing the lyrics. He was listening to a guitar solo over and over trying to figure out what was wrong with it at the moment. It was nice getting out of his apartment and just relaxing somewhere sunny while he did his work.

To say that Namine frequented Nevermore often was akin to saying that cops liked donuts. She adored the place and made a point of trying every new sweet they came out with. On her days off from the BPD she often stayed in the cafe for as long as they would let her, mostly for a change in scenery. Secondly, she felt safe there. Police officers frequented the place, the staff was nice, polite and civil, but also because of the sweets. She would sketch and munch on treats as she worked. To her surprise, Omar was inside at one of the tables. She hesitated, trying to decide whether or not to tell him she was there. What if he didn't want company? He looked so busy...

Omar was busy scribbling down possibilities to fix the guitar solo as he sipped on his drink. It kept him awake during the day so he was a bit of a coffeehound. Seeing as trolls were normally and primarily nocturnal. He was also munching on an apple fritter because there was nothing in his fridge fit for eating and he needed to go shopping for more food as soon as he got paid. Which would hopefully be tonight if nothing else happened. Like another run-in with a bored demon, for instance. He paused the ipod and took the ear buds out of his giant ears to rest them for a minute. When he looked up he saw a familiar blond and his face broke out into a wide grin. "Namine! Hey!"

Namine jumped in surprise when Omar called her name. She had tried to slip past him so she didn't bother his work. It was surprising to see him out since most of the time she saw him, it was extremely late and mostly after his sets. She did wonder what had him out so... Was it early for him? Didn't he get any sleep? She gave him a shy smile and a tentative wave. She placed an order at the counter before joining Omar at his table. She brushed a lock of her hair back and out of her face.
"H-Hello," Namine said softly.

Omar smiled at Namine and waved her over. "How are you doing, there?" He asked the meek mouse-like blond with a fond smile and put away his ipod for the time being as well as closing his notebook. Namine deserved his full attention after she was so kind and stayed with him while he was in the holding cells. It was the least he could do. Except maybe paying for her drink, but it looked like she had already done that.

"I, uh, it's my day off," Namine quickly explained. "S-So I thought I'd come here..."
She bowed her head and folded her hands tightly in front of her. She looked up at him from behind her bangs, like a guilt stricken puppy who had done something wrong. The cafe was surprisingly empty. And there were plenty of other tables for her to sit at so she didn't keep Omar from doing something important. She knew that awful demon had made it so Omar hadn't gotten paid that night, which was really unfair so one of the officers was working on making sure Omar got his dues, but it didn't help him now.
"I-I didn't mean to bother you!"

Omar smiled at her. "I'm working on a demo, and this place is the best place to think" He explained and covered a yawn. "I'll probably leave to sleep some more before my next gig but right now I'm just taking a break" He raised an eyebrow at the apology and reached a hand out to her, gently and carefully ,like one would to a startled rabbit. "You ain't botherin me Namine. If you were gonna bother me I wouldn't have called you over"

"C-Can I join you? I-If that's okay...?"
Namine didn't jump back when she took her hand, not like she had the first time back at the holding cells. Instead she gave his hand a reassuring squeeze, as if trying to comfort his nerves not hers, and responded with a light smile. Just as she thought. These weren't his usual hours. It was kind of funny, considering that he was staving off sleep so he could work.
"When are you p-performing tonight?" she asked.

"Of course it's okay" He said gently and moved so she could sit beside him. He smiled as she squeezed his hand. She was such a good girl. Reminded him a little bit of Jane and his son. He hoped wherever Jane was she was happy. "Hmm? Oh, nine to twelve" He shrugged. "Just around closing time. We play the song Closing Time every night at the end of each set, to signify it's time for the regulars who know the signal to start finishing their drinks" He smiled at her. "Why? Thinking of coming to a set?"

Namine sat down in a chair opposite of him. Oh, that was such a late set! Namine tried to go to sleep before that. She had work early. Not to mention, bars on a scale of one to ten set Namine's anxiety to an eleven. She bit her lip, trying to think of a polite way to turn down Omar's offer. She did want to hear his music, but loud, plus crowds, plus Namine always was a bad mix.
"M-Maybe not tonight," she said.

He gave her a look that clearly said he wasn't buying it and pulled out his ipod and earbuds. He handed her one earbud ."If it's too late for you just be honest" He said with a shrug. "I'm not gonna bite your head off for that Namine. Not everyone is nocturnal like I am" Even his band had troubles some nights and they had to call it quits early so they could get some sleep. It didn't really bother him. Humans were humans. "No trying to be nice to me. I've got thick skin, I can take insults and the like" He grinned at her.

"I w-wasn't - I-I can't there's..." she trailed off. Omar probably would have laughed at her if she told him about her phobia of crowds but that didn't change the fact she looked rather shameful. She frowned. Had he not been holding her hand, she would have pulled hers back. She looked up at him when he offered her the earbud. Her baby blues traced his face for some sort of indication of anger but she found none. He... wasn't mad at her for not being able to go? Namine bit her lip before taking the offered earbud.

"Namine. I ain't gonna be mad if you just tell me the reason why you can't go. It's probably because it's so late, right? I get it, don't worry about it" He snorted and sipped his coffee. "I'm the same way during the day. This is burning the night oil for me, but I have to stay up a lot because most places are closed at night. So I take naps to compensate" places were closed like recording studios. He was working on making a small one in his loft but these sorts of things take time and money and he didn't have quite enough saved to finish yet. It would certainly make things a lot easier for him. He turned on his ipod and flicked to a softer song for her ,which he was happy with as it was. He had a feeling she wouldn't like his heavier music. ( )

"There's... too many people," Namine all but whispered.
She looked down, not meeting his eyes. Too many people, lots of drinking, it made her feel uncomfortable because it reminded her of her father after her mother left. Without anything else to say, she put the earbud in. The first thing she heard was a soft piano. She had told him she liked piano the other day. He remembered. It seems a lot of things that the musician did surprised her. And then she heard singing. Omar's voice for sure. She looked up at him.

His eyes softened. "Aw, why didn't you just say so? I don't mind" he could get behind that. It made sense for her actually, with how meek she was and all. He smiled when she looked up at him. It was a tribute to his ex girlfriend, and he had strongarmed one of his band members to play the piano, Ruff, despite being rowdy and more surly than Omar, was actually very talented at the piano. "How do you like it Namine?"
