"What better place to let go than a coffee house." Elsa wasn't sure if Namine wanted to talk about the problems. Besides, privacy and Confidence were something she respected. She pierced her baguette pudding, smelling the spice blend and butteriness of the mush within the crust.

"I come here a lot." Namine said softly.
It wasn't always because she was stressed. But the place was nice, relaxing and most importantly to the small blonde, safe. Police officers frequented this place almost as much as she did. She felt comfortable enough with the staff to make return trips, even if she still had problems talking to everyone. She always did have a hard time with people she didn't know well.
"M-Mostly for the sweets." she said, picking up a macaroon to show Elsa.

A regular customer? Well, Nevermore was one of the most popular cafes in Bellerouge. Elsa poked at her baguette pudding once again, smiling at the macaroon held up by Namine. The cream-filled pastries always looked promising. Maybe if it weren't rainy, she would have gotten a platter. "Which flavor is your favorite?"

Choosing a favorite sweet from Nevermore was akin to choosing a favorite child. Or one of her best art works. There were so many good ones to choose from. It was easy to be inspired by the wonderful workings of Nevermore but picking a favorite? It was nearly impossible! But for now, today's favorites were the macaroons.
"T-The apricot o-ones are good." She said. "And salted caramel."

"Ah, yes. The salted caramel are my favorite, too." Elsa was stirring the ice in her coffee with a spoon. With each clink, the ice solidified a tiny bit more. Rushing the girl into a conversation was not a fair advantage. In trials, if a defendant was too shy to say anything, Elsa would resort to being more patient and quieter, giving them time to process the questions or keeping her questions short and simple.

"D-Do you come to the cafe a lot?" Namine asked. "O-Or was it because of the rain?"
She shyly looked up at Elsa, worrying her bottom lip slightly as she peered up at the woman. There was only so much that could be said about sweets and goodies the cafe served. Elsa could have been a regular. She and Namine may have just come in via different days. Namine's work schedule was unpredictable at best. She didn't know when her next assignment would be, hence her tendency to do outside work as well.

Elsa shrugged in response to Namine's question. To say she was a regular was a bit much. It was the only coffeehouse who, in her opinion, could make her favorite drinks just right. The cafe near her office always put coffee grounds in her sips. "I come in when I can," she answered, "and yes, the rain did usher me in," she laughed.

"I-It's nice here," Namine agreed before adding with a shy smile, "A-And it's good shelter from the rain."
She liked it too. The place wasn't far from her home. She liked the staff, food was good and a safe environment. It was easy to be inspired to draw, particularly when she was people watching. If she hadn't been caught staring, she may have drawn Elsa at one point, but now Namine wasn't sure if that would be okay or not. She gave her pencil a light flick, without thinking about it, watching as it rolled away and then back to her after it bounced off her cup. She spared a glance out the window. It wasn't raining as hard now.

Elsa smiled and nodded. The venue of Nevermore was, in lack of better word, whimisical. Rather than be full of Gothic wallapaper and heavy, velvet curtains, the exposed brick was covered with paintings from the shopowner's daughter and a cop from the BPD, Sunshine. Flowers, leaves, steaming cups of coffee and/or tea based on how you looked at it, and even quotes from the Poe poem in summery colors like green or purple lined the walls. The only dark thing was a bust of Pallas with a false raven perched on top. But even then, the Seddons made it fun by giving the Raven things associated with the season, like the bright framed sunglasses it was wearing now for summer.
"Very. I feel sorry for those who wanted to sit outside."

"S-Some people like it," Namine said.
She could think of a number of Others that adored rain. Those affiliated with water, namely, but druids and nymphs would rejoice for rain, not to mention the sirens. With the city as hot and humid as it often got, the rain came as a blessing to those species. Namine was just a human with a freaky little power that she never used if she could help it because she was afraid of herself. Plus, she also had a habit of favoring white clothing. Not a good idea to walk outside in white unless she had her umbrella with her, which she did but that was beside the point.
"T-They dance in the rain."

Elsa didn't know how to react. Was she talking about people who liked being in water in general? Or was she making a reference to the Dyrads and nymphs who would celebrate whenever the water level rose in the air or on the ground. Water levels, for the police, were becoming bad, especially given a certain killer was on the loose. Just to be polite, she just nodded, sipping her ice coffee and taking another bite of the baguette pudding.

"M-My neighbor likes the r-rain," Namine stammered out, wondering is he had said something wrong due to Elsa's non-response. "It h-helps her flowers."
Her neighbor was also a druid and the plant-like woman loved water, almost as much as she loved sunlight. It was a funny relationship between the two. Can't have one without the other. She quickly looked down, scuffing at her pencil once more. Her sketch pad, when not, accidentally mixed with her work one, often displayed pictures of people she met, the Others and unique individuals that colored Namine's day after meeting them.

"Well, you know what they say," Elsa shrugged with a semismile, "April showers bring May flowers. Or...is it June flowers, now that the magnolias are finally blooming?" The large white, occasionally pink, very fragrant blossoms were a sign of summer in Louisiana. The prettiest sights were full bloomed ones catching rain water in their petals, cupping it like little teacups.

"A-Are they? I hadn't noticed," Namine said softly.
She adored the magnolias. It was odd for her to be so caught up in everything that she completely miss it. Then again, her mind was elsewhere. So it was hard to think straight when she had so much to do. She would have to pay better attention when it wasn't completely pouring out. She gave Elsa a small and rather tentative smile.

"Well there are so many," Elsa was trying to help. To miss something so precious to them was a bit of a hurtful thing. She would get sad whenever a snowflake disappeared and she couldn't find the fractal. "You're sure to see them soon. They won't go away until fall."
