"I'll let her tell you herself. If I told it, I'd probably leave out crucial bits."
The door slid open to the lower levels. The Nevermore kiosk was just getting its final setups done by Sunshine and Thomas. These final setups included weaving cobwebs along the window. Sunshine was setting up a pastry display, beaming at her partner and practically bounding over.
"Shadow! You're just in time for the big Halloween unveiling! Oh, and Namine, too? I was wondering when you two would meet!"

Namine felt a little confused. Crucial bits? Then again, no one in the department knew Sunshine better than Shadow. They were always together. She felt that bubble of nervousness welling up again as she and Shadow joined Sunshine at the kiosk. The display was ready for Halloween. Cobwebs and fakes spiders. It was cute. Namine would probably end up drawing it later. Her 'for fun' sketches would be filled with magic and mischief. Not that she would actually be comfortable enough to show anyone.
"H-Hello Sunshine," Namine stammered out.

"So...your usual?" No sooner had Sunshine greeted them that she was at the coffee pots. She poured a black brew into the raven-logo cup, sliding it down. With a smile, she set out the tea selection for Namine. "Also, you discounts..." She nodded to Thomas, who began punching in the cash register.
Shadow shook his head. "It's okay, Blondie. We already had it."
Sunshine pouted. "Fine. You owe me, Mr. Prickly."
Shadow tittered. Sunshine was so eager to please and she went above and beyond most of the time. He nodded to the hazelnut creamer, letting her know her choice of creamer was ready.

Namine could only silently watch on over the exchange. She was a little confused. Shadow said they did this often, but often enough to have a 'regular' order? It was a bit surprising to say the least. Though, Shadow was probably a predictable guy. Probably even took his coffee the same every day. She just gave Thomas a meek smile, which felt a bit more forced than she had hoped. She had to bite her tongue to hold back another apology.
"S-So the Halloween flavors are i-in?" she squeaked out, trying for conversation.

Shadow and Sunshine both looked at Namine. Thomas tipped his beret to the trio, moving on to the next customer. The blonde cop blinked at her brother urging her to go, and she stepped next to them.
"Yep," she beamed. "the dawn of pumpkin flavored everything."
Shadow rolled his eyes, "Please, call it the mulling spices. Pumpkin's overrated."

Namine looked between the duo. She covered her mouth with her hand and quickly looked away, trying to bite back the laugh that threatened to make itself known. They fought like a married couple. Or perhaps it was just their partnership showing. They did work with each other constantly so it would make sense they knew each other well. It was not surprising to see Sunshine waltzing in through the doors of the office and having Shadow right behind her. The names alone were irony enough. Basically a 'light' and 'dark' contrast. Cannot have light without dark.
"A-Any r-recommendations?" she asked.

Both cops scowled at each other teasingly, silently continuing their argument. It took a while until, finally, Sundhine broke her scowl with her cheeks puffed and air coming out. Shadow's own poker face slightly cracked with a smirk coming up as his partner admitted defeat. Her composure regained itself when she remembered Namine was with them.
"Recommendations. Hmm...the chile mocha'a good if you like spicy chocolate. Honey crisp cider is back; my personal favorite."
As Sunshine went on, Shadow listened in silence. The enthusiasm and glisten in her eyes added to how adorable she really was. Even sweeter, Namine was slowly edging from her shell. Neither one was judging the other by their abilities, just a common interest. It was two sides of the same coin Maria had been; demure and shy, but also eager to please. Having coffee with both of them was making this morning one of the better ones. ((End thread))
