Yang thought for a moment before deciding on the silver ones. They did have a little bit more shine to them. "Alright, I think we're all set," she said. "Hope this doesn't put too much of a dent in your budget." She said it jokingly, but she did hope Jane could afford all this. She didn't want to take advantage of her friend's offer to help pay for all this.

"Don't you worry about that." Jane said.
She waved her hand dismissively. She had just started her new job. At the library of all places. Jane did enjoy her books. They needed someone to restock the shelves. She just had to finish her schooling and she would manage the library. She did like the sound of that. It was probably the lifestyle her mother would have approved of. She already knew the kind of nightlife her father was involved in.
"So I was thinking," Jane said. "Since we're going to be out for the night, do you think the kids would be okay if I set them up at my place with pizza and Netflix?"

Yang glanced up at Jane's offer. The kids had been on their own at the theater before. Usually, if she was going to be out all night, she left Louie in charge. He could be hot-headed sometimes, but he was the best at keeping things under control. And the others tended to listen to him. Although, they probably would have fun at Jane's place. Despite their excitement at her going to this ball, Yang had felt a little guilty that she was going off to party while they were off by themselves, doing the same old same old. Maybe this could give her an opportunity to make the night fun for them too. "I think I'll take you up on that offer," she said with a smile. "They could probably use a little fun while we're off dancing the night away."

"Awesome," Jane enthused. "I'll set up the living room in case they crash."
That was one thing off of her mind. She knew the kids would be safe at her apartment. That and they would be entertained. She and her brother would get into so much mischief when left to their own devices as kids. Yang wouldn't have to worry or constantly check in with the kids, or rush back if anything happened because Jane had a neighbor who could help if it came down to it. She motioned for Yang to follow her to check out. They were quickly rung up and everything was paid for.
"So, lunch." she said. "What are you feeling?"

"After eating all that pizza, they probably will," Yang said with a laugh. That was always a full-proof method of getting her kids to sleep. Give them a big meal, and they were to sure to drop off one by one once it started getting late. When Jane asked her where she wanted to eat lunch, Yang gave it some thought before replying. "Hmm, Chinese sounds good right now. I think there's a decently priced one not too far away. They have these crab rangoon things that are so good. You gotta try them."

"Sounds great," Jane said. "Lead the way!"
She picked up the bags. She had to admit, she was getting excited for the masquerade. She wasn't usually up for big parties like that, but just knowing she was going with a friend already made this a kind of torture he could bear. Free food, drinks and dancing. She was hard pressed to say no. Yang would just make it that much more fun.

Yang smiled before heading out of the store, with Jane right behind her. She was glad to see that her friend was excited for this. Going to a party like this was sure to help her get acquainted with more people. It was probably still daunting, being in a new city like this. But Yang was confident that she would have a good time.
