Moses knew he shouldn't be out late at night walking. It had gotten him into a fight with Vanitas the last time he had. But the nightmares, something he had only admitted having to Pitch, had come back with a dark force and had sent Moses straight into the streets of his city to walk off the terror and the memory of dark enjoyment of killing a man slowly, the satisfaction of watching blood drain from several deep wounds in his body. He really should have known that something like his encounter with Vanitas would happen again. Only instead of one demon there were two punk humans. He stopped as they approached him from opposite ends of the street and eyed them warily, hands flexing in readiness. Just because he was a pacifist didn't mean he didn't know how to fight.
"Lookee here Chuck. We got a looker. Wonder what he's doing here so late at night"
"I dunno Dan. Why don't we ask him?"
Moses sighed and rolled his eyes. After dealing with Vanitas' and Pitch's attitudes, these two weren't threatening at all. One of them drew a knife and Moses knew they wanted more than to just rough house him. They were planning on hurting him. Probably badly. And then who knew what else. Moses drew breath in through his nose and allowed his demonic side to take over. It'd be easier to fight that way, and he could summon a lesser demon if he needed to. Moses' eyes went fully black and he smiled charmingly at the two punks. "You want me boys? See if you survive the encounter and we'll see" he purred. The one with the knife ran at him and Moses grabbed him and deftly swung him up and over his shoulder and into the nearby wall. The other guy came at him with a chain, yelling and Moses stood waiting, smiling all the while.

Vanitas heard the tell tale signs of a fight after he left the bar. He debated going the other way but a familar voice caught his ear. He found himself moving towards the alley way. Wasn't his brightest move. He was zero for three on his last three fights. One with Riku. One with Pitch. One with Ralph. One where he was blinded, one where he was poisoned and stabbed with an emerald and one where he was still nursing bruises from. Yet, he was watching this fight from the safety of the shadows.
Moses.
He raised a brow. So much for the brat's boy scout routine. He was actually handling his own just well. Because he was so far away, Vanitas couldn't see the darkness of Moses' eyes. He could feel a muted power but couldn't pin point exactly who in the group fighting it was coming from. He folded his arms across his chest, willing to see this out to the end.

Moses dodged the chain as it came whistling past his head and lunged for the man, catching his knee in the guy's stomach and bringing his elbow down hard in a pressure point in the man's shoulder, dropping him temporarily. The other man leaped onto his back and drove the knife into Moses' shoulder. Moses shouted angrily and managed to throw the man off of him. He walked menacingly over to the man, twisting the metal out of his shoulder and looking at it with black eyes before staring down at the man with a twisted smirk. "Ever thought about being a knife swallower? We could practice the trick right now" just then the chain came up and around his neck, forcing him into the chest of the previous man and forcing him to struggle to breathe. He dropped the knife and the first man got up and picked it up, stroking the side of Moses' face with the tip. "Now, what to do with you, you black eyed freak?" he purred menacingly.

The knife pressed up against Moses’ face, the chain around his throat, both painted a pretty picture, but it spurred Vanitas forward. Those men had nothing but bad intentions for the Halfling. He stepped up behind the thug with the knife, out of his hiding spot. His sword appeared in his hand as he loomed forward. He pressed the tip of the blade to the man’s spine. One wrong move and the man would be impaled. He might just end up impaled anyways. Vanitas was in that sort of a mood. What was one more death now that everyone knew what he did to that cop? He was going to end up in jail or dead anyways.
"Let him go before I show you what it means to fight a real demon."
Of any demon for Vanitas to form a possible ‘alliance’ with, it was the Halfling. There was no way he was going to assist Pitch. Thrax had made himself scarce after Vanitas saved his dumb ass. Then there was that bartender that had just cropped up. No way was Vanitas about to throw his lot in with a stranger, especially a fire demon at that.

The man with the knife stilled and Moses took that opportunity to grab the knife away from his face and slam it into the hand of the guy holding the chain. The guy yowled and let go of the chain. Moses gasped for air and ran till he was beside Vanitas, not behind like he normally would have, his black eyes glittering darkly. The guy who had had the knife turned slowly to the two demons with wide eyes and a watery smile. "Easy guys. We were just teasing" the one with the knife stuck in his hand nodded weakly, clutching his injured hand that was gushing blood. Moses crooked a dark smile at the two of them and turned to Vanitas. "I want to make them hurt" he said simply, forcing himself not to rub the bruise around his neck from the chain. Killing, even when he was demonic, never crossed his mind. It may have once, but that had been a long time ago.

"Make it count." he said.
Maybe he hadn't needed to 'save the day' but it was nice to see that look on Moses' face. Bloodlust. A feeling Vanitas knew well. He held out his sword to Moses, waiting to see if the other wanted to use it. His sword was sharp, dangerous. It would hurt. It would be very satisfying to use. Vanitas knew from experience. He was also willing to see how far Moses was going to go. Out of anyone on the street or rather in the city in general, Vanitas was not going to stop him if he 'went too far'.

Moses smiled brightly at Vanitas and took the sword. He'd never actually used one before, but he hefted it in his hand and swung it, slashing the guy in front of him from shoulder to hip. The man screamed and fell down in a faint and the guy with the knife in his hand backed up a few steps back ,his face white and pale. Moses smiled darkly at him and brandished the sword. "Leave or I'll cut your head off" he snarled, though he knew it was an empty threat. The man didn't need to be told twice though and took off in a stumbling run. Moses gave back the sword and looked Vanitas up and down approvingly. "It might just be my imagination handsome, but you seem to be a shadow on the bricks wherever I go" he smirked and raised an eyebrow. "How much of your interest have I actually sparked?"

Vanitas was a little disappointed that Moses hadn't actually hurt either of the men further, sure one got cut, but he'd live. If he got help soon enough. Vanitas should have just run the man with the knife through when he had the chance. One less 'badass' on the street if he had. It was so annoying to deal with the stupid little humans that fancied themselves so big and bad that even the demons - the real terrors of the night - were supposed to 'quake in fear' upon seeing them. Vanitas just snorted when one of them faint and the other abandoned his friend to save his own skin.
"Enough," Vanitas shrugged, though not quite sure himself. "I just happened to be passing through. Thought I'd admire your handiwork."
Vanitas finally got a good look at Moses' eyes, mostly because he was directly facing him. Black. Inky. Delightful. He grinned in response, taking his sword and willing it away. He doubted he was going to be needing it just yet. Moses had given in to his demonic half, at least for now. It was like presenting Vanitas with a new toy, something new to discover about the Halfling. Like how much control he had just given his other half.

"I used to be a better fighter, before...but I haven't let this side fully out in a very long time" Moses mused, partly as an explanation for not being able to finish the fight and requiring assistance. Moses tapped his chin and looked at Vanitas thoughtfully. "You saved my life. Or at the very least kept me from getting seriously hurt. I should be thanking you, handsome. But how to thank you..." he thought for a moment and then smiled devilishly, walking slowly over to Vanitas and lightly pushing him to the side of one buiding. Moses leaned over until their noses were brushing, Moses still grinning. "So you don't cut me I'll actually ask. May I repay you with a kiss, handsome?" he chuckled, hoping he'd caught Vanitas off guard. His inhibitions were gone and the more he focused on the kiss, the more he realized he'd rather wanted to kiss Vanitas since the dishes incident. Curious but not dangerous. At least not yet.

"Shame." Vanitas said. "Would have loved to have seen you at your prime."
He decided to forgo the whole 'saving' comment. Vanitas had only intervened because those punks needed to know that if you messed with a demon, there would be repercussions. Any demon. Though, perhaps he should have followed that sort of motto when dealing with other demons. Besides, killing a few humans didn't really mean that much to him anymore. He was a dead man walking as it was. Moses shoved him up against the wall, brushing up close so there was little space between them. And he asked for a kiss? To reward Vanitas for what? Good behavior? Positive reinforcement? His eyes narrowed. A kiss? Did he look like some sort of damsel that would swoon all because Moses 'was being bad'? Don't be ridiculous.
Sure, Moses wasn't hard on the eyes. The boy scout probably thought a once off little peck would be 'reward' enough. Vanitas leaned in close. His hand went up, gripping Moses hair before he pulled him, grinning darkly with anticipation, with the intent of twisting this 'innocent' little 'thank you' into something more feral. More demonic. Moses was a far cry from Vanitas' first partner. Though the more... enjoyable sort. Corrupting and at the same time being surprised by the other's inhibitions or lack there of.
"Don't disappoint, boy scout." he ordered.

Moses grinned ferally. This was not the first time that he'd been in his demonic state and initiating a venture like this. Right now all he wanted to show Vanitas was that he wasn't a boy scout. Hell, he'd broken a boy scout's nose for being an uppity brat when he was a kid. But that was a long time ago. Moses bit on Vanitas' lip and pulled down, forcing his mouth open. He then kissed him with the purpose of domination. His fingers reached up and wrapped into the spiky hair and forced the head to remain still. Moses pushed Vanitas fully against the wall, wincing as they thudded against it, his wounded shoulder making a cry of dissent. He ignored it though and continued kissing.

Vanitas honestly had not expected his night to end up like this. The challenge to make it a good kiss, had obviously egged on Moses' demonic half because their kiss was a violent and passionate sort of thing. Passion... It was something that made you grip the sheets and lust was abundant. The night probably wouldn't get that far. Because demon half in control or not, Moses was bleeding. However, if Moses thought he would dominate the kiss, he was wrong. Vanitas fought back with tongue slipping through parted lips, harsh nips and a tug of his hair, even as Moses tried to hold him still. Yes, an unexpected armful of a body smashed up against his and kissing. Not his typical night for him, but he wasn't about to complain.

Moses smiled into the kiss. Vanitas was fighting back and Moses liked that. He liked that a lot actually. Especially since it was coming from Vanitas. He growled and pulled Vanitas' head back. Moses sucked on Vanitas' tongue and flicked his own tongue into that open mouth. he didn't mind the nips against his lips, expected them really, and chuckled against Vanitas. One hand went from holding the wall to running itself sensually down Vanitas' side. Moses wanted to win this, to see the demon as submissive as he'd been when he was doing the dishes. That image wouldn't leave Moses' head. He needed to see it again, and he wanted to be the one to force it out of Vanitas.

Moses didn't seem willing to give up the fight for dominance. To be fair, Vanitas had kissed before, but it had always been short, brief, to the point. The need of air forced him back. He looked up at Moses, still feeling rather surprised by the sudden boldness. Moses needed to show this side of him more often. Vanitas might tolerate him more if he did. He was out of breath. He could already feel his lips stinging from Moses' bites. They would swell a little later from the obvious kiss. He grinned.
"Not bad." he said.

Moses smirked at him. "It's not my first time doing this. Dominating someone. Kissing like that. Glad you liked it though" He raised his hands in a shrug. "But I'm usually better. Like I said, haven't done this in a long time" he stumbled as a wave of dizziness hit him and he fell into Vanitas. Moses cursed, eyes flickering from black to normal and back. "Too much bloodloss" he rasped, angry at himself. "With the adrenaline I didn't realize...." he forced himself and turned towards the street. "I need a healer" he muttered
