"Got it." he said.
He grinned after she jolted. It might have been a little mean of him to think her reaction was a little funny, but she was really such a goodie goodie that he honestly thought she would have kicked and fought about getting on the back of a motorcycle. For her sake, he kept things slow on the way to the Riverfront, making sure to use his turn signal and everything, all so she wouldn't freak out. Things he normally forwent when he was just driving himself around. But the night was quiet and traffic had died down enough so that they got there relatively quickly. He pulled off to the side once they were in her neighborhood. Nice place actually.
"Looks like we're here."

To be honest, the ride wasn't even that bad. Adeline even found herself enjoying it. It was nice to be out in the open, in a way, and not worrying about if someone was going to give her a weird look or if Thrax was going to pop out of the shadows. Axel made her feel safe, like Pitch did. They soon pulled into her neighborhood. Axel said it was nice, although Adeline wondered if any other opinions were forming in his mind. When people sometimes learned that Adeline came from a pretty well-off middle class family, they wondered what on earth had possessed a girl that came from such a nice family to go and summon a demon like she had. But, she wasn't about to ask anything. She needed to get home. "Alright, just take the first right you see and my house is the third one on the left," she instructed.

Axel gave a nod. They rolled up to her house before he parked. He glanced back to look at her. Adeline's legs would probably feel like jello since she wouldn't be used to sitting like that on a bike but with the kickstand down, the bike wouldn't fall over no matter how she got off of it. Still, she had limited visibility with the helmet on and she was drowning in his too large for her jacket. He couldn't help how much taller he was than her. Hopefully she wasn't out after curfew or something. He snorted. The last thing he wanted was to scare her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Jones might be worried if they saw their 'baby girl' getting a ride home from the likes of him.
"Nice and slow when you get off." he instructed.

Axel pulled up to her house. The lights were on, but Adeline figured her parents weren't about to come to the door. She had a house key. She could just let herself in. She took Axel's advice and very carefully stepped off the motorcycle. "Whoa," she muttered to herself as her feet hit the ground. She almost felt a little weak in the knees. It reminded her of the sensation someone might feel when they were swimming for hours, and then got back on land and had to adjust to regular gravity. Or maybe she was just being noobish. "Thanks. For the ride and...stuff," she said as she took the helmet off her head. No doubt her hair was a bit frizzy. They didn't call it "helmet hair" for nothing, after all. "I guess I'll...see you around?"

"Easy there, slick," he chuckled.
To her credit, she recovered pretty quickly. She hadn't even stumbled. Axel just took back the helmet, tucking it under his arm. He was glad her parents hadn't come rushing out the door with a bat or something. As entertaining as that would be, Axel was in a good mood and he wanted to keep it that way. Still, he was very tempted to rev the engine of the bike. That would just ask for trouble that no one wanted. He doubted the middle class community had too many bikes here, especially not as loud and as boisterous as his.
"You're welcome." he said. "You know where to find me if you want to see me again. If not, hit me up when you're of legal age and I'll hook you up with those drinks."
He grinned before putting the helmet on.

"Yeah, sure," Adeline said, laughing a little. "See ya." She gave a little wave before walking up the front door and heading inside. Almost a second after, she heard her dad calling her.
"Adeline? Is that you?"
"Hey Dad," Adeline greeted as her father walked over. She got nervous, however, when she received a suspicious look from him.
"Adeline, where'd you get that jacket?" he asked.
Adeline blinked, realizing that she was still wearing Axel's jacket, that was much too big for her. "Um..." Her dad probably didn't want to hear the truth. She'd probably get a lecture about "stranger danger" and how she should be more careful when out by herself, etc. Luckily, she managed to come up with a lie.
"I...found it. I...wanted to see if I could shrink it down to my size, using a spell."
Adeline's father sighed. "Adeline, you've been able to shrink and grow things with spells since you were ten years old. I doubt you need the practice."
"But I've never done it with a jacket," Adeline pointed out. "And it probably requires a lot more specific spellwork. I mean, I gotta get the measurements just right so it'll fit me-"
"Okay, okay, don't need the whole story," Adeline's father interrupted. "I'll leave you to it."
Adeline nodded. Her father gave her a smile, although it made her feel a little guilty. She knew what that smile meant. He and her mother did it often, when they were willing to let Adeline do something that sounded a little weird if it made her a bit happier. But, she tried not to think about it as she headed upstairs. Maybe, in the future, she could introduce her parents to Axel. If they let her spend time with Pitch, who was a lot older than she was, then they could probably warm up to Axel too.
((End thread?))
