Yang gave a little laugh. Was this what she and Adrien were doing now? Were they really setting up a date? She wasn't sure what to think. She had admitted that she liked him to Jane, but that was a while ago. And it was before she knew who Chat really was. Now, she wasn't sure where their relationship was going to go. She liked Adrien. He made her feel better. But how long could he enjoy hanging out with somebody like her? Her arm was gone, they were on totally different spectrums when it came to social class. And her mental injuries were going to take a lot of time to heal from, if she ever healed from them at all. Everyone agreed that she was already showing signs of being traumatized by what Thrax had done. No doubt she'd get diagnosed with PTSD in the future. She felt like she had all these problems weighing on her now, and she didn't know if Adrien would want to deal with them forever. Plus, who knew if getting romantically involved with him would turn out well. What if she messed things up like she had in the past? The consequences could be dire. "I don't know. I'm just...worried about this," she replied as she moved her right arm slightly. "It's probably going to be stared at everywhere we go. And you already get stared at enough, being a model and stuff."

"So?" Adrien asked. "I almost got mobbed by fans last week and I was only saved because Elsa Crispin stepped in. I'm used to being stared at. And if they do stare, it's because you're so pretty."
Adrien already told Shadow (of all people) that he had feelings for Yang. Sadly, it took working out how Shadow felt about Sunshine, for Adrien to click, that he felt the same for Yang. Her lack of an arm didn't make those feelings go away. Nor did any other hang ups she might have. It might have even strengthened those feelings because she was going to get through it, he knew she would. She was the determined type and wouldn't let this hold her back. He wanted to be there for her because she had been there for him, when he confessed how lonely things got in his 'home'.
"But I'm not going to push you into something you're uncomfortable with. If you don't want it to be a date, we can be friends." he said.

"I don't know about that," Yang said. Sure, she used to flirt and show off her looks to get something, but she doubted she could ever do it again. Not when she was like this. Adrien didn't seem to mind it so much, though. Heck, he seemed perfectly okay with it. Yang wondered how he was alright with how much things had changed, with how much she had changed. She wasn't about to start strutting around the street like she used to. Her confidence had taken a big blow. Who knew if she could even fight again, the thing that she loved to do most. When Adrien brought up that they could just hang out as friends, she hesitated with how to respond. She knew what she wanted, but she wasn't sure if it would be the best for Adrien. And what exactly did he want? Would he want a serious relationship with her? Was he after something a little more casual? It was hard to tell, especially since being flirty was just part of his personality as Chat. "A lunch date does sound nice," she said, her fingers slightly nudging his. "You really wouldn't mind? If things got a little...iffy with me?" She could picture it now: the lunch date could be ruined in a moment if she suddenly got flashbacks of her fight with Thrax. She could end up knocking something over or punching somebody or just completely freaking out. Who knew, maybe the other people that had scared her in the past, like Cinder or Gavin, might pop up. Her mind seemed to be constantly bringing up all the bad things that had happened to her and it was hard to shut them out.

"I don't mind Yang," he said kindly. "I want to spend more time with you."
Even if it was just as friends, or as something more. He would buy out the whole restaurant if he had to make her feel comfortable. Or he could grab the food to go and head back to a park or something? He would do something. He had time before that happened. He could make plans. He was good at planning things. He at least got that from his father. He would fight anyone he had to in order to spend time with her. Including his own father or Cinder. Yang made him feel brave after all. She was the one who sparked life back into him.

Adrien's words made Yang smile a little bit. If he didn't mind anything that was iffy with her now, maybe things could be okay. At least, she hoped so. Her life had been such a roller coaster lately, and it seemed like it had more downs than ups. But people were always telling her that there was silver lining to all this and that she had to keep going, so she could get to the good times again. Yang just wondered how long that would take. So much of her life right now seemed bleak and hopeless. Adrien was a little spark of light, but could it be enough to drive away all the other dark things clinging to her? She didn't know. All she knew was that she liked having Adrien by her side, and the knowledge that he wouldn't leave her again comforted her. "I like spending time with you too," she admitted, her head resting against his shoulder. "You...get me, you know? More than other people do." Somehow, Adrien had this way of making her feel better, or knowing exactly what to say when talking with her. Nobody else was like that, not even the friends she had known for years. Things with Adrien just felt...different.

"Well, yeah, I know exactly how you feel."
Every 'friend' he had, was paid for by his father or his reputation. They were all reputation grabbers. Except for Weiss. But most people tried to use him for his name, to further themselves. Yang was the first person to like him without any of that. Sad thing was, it took a mask to get being treated like a normal human being. But Yang was just a wild card that he hadn't predicted finding. To be honest, he was so glad she caught him the night that she had. Because she had literally changed everything he knew.

"Yeah, you seem to have a knack for that," Yang said, her thumb absentmindedly rubbing against the back of Adrien's hand. Somehow, he always knew how she was feeling, even without her saying anything. And Yang thought she had gotten decent at hiding what she was feeling and pretending everything was fine. Her kids never caught onto any troubles she was facing, except for Louie occasionally. Only her friends who had known her for years, like Omar and Moses, could tell when she was pretending things were okay. Adrien, on the other hand, seemed to read her like a book, which was a sensation she hadn't been familiar with at the time. But now, she kind of liked it. Adrien could see how she was feeling, and she didn't even have to say a word. It seemed like the only thing he hadn't caught onto was that she had fallen pretty hard for him. And Yang wasn't sure when she could ever reveal that. Sure, the two of them had something a little bigger than friendship going on. Yang figured both of them were aware of that. But actually saying the words "I love you" to Adrien? Who knew how long it would take Yang to get to that point, if she ever could.

"I think... If I say 'I do' that you might hit me." Adrien teased.
He couldn't stop smiling. This was probably the best he felt in ages, even better than when he talked to her as well, himself, pretending he wasn't Chat Noir - also himself. It was complicated. Now this was so much easier. He glanced down at their still clasped hands. This was what he had been missing those last few months. It had literally eaten away at him. A little worrying how much he missed her, but it made sense with all things considering. He said those three little words in front of Shadow - though they were directed at Yang. But when it came to her, he was a bit tongue tied, only because she literally took away his words.

"It's a good thing. Trust me," Yang said. Knowing her so well, it was a nice feeling, in her opinion. Nobody had ever really known her like this before. She could just lay herself out there and Adrien would accept her. Heck, he accepted her despite now broken she was now. She couldn't exactly say the same for how she had reacted when he had revealed who he was. She bit her lip as all the things she had said earlier replayed in her head. She had sounded like a total jerk. "I'm sorry," she said, her voice quiet. "For...what I said earlier. I didn't mean it." She figured Adrien already knew that, but she felt the need to say it anyway. She had just been so angry and upset and Adrien had unfortunately become a punching bag in that moment.

"What, getting hit? I'm afraid I disagree, my Princess." he said.
He grinned at her. He let out a sigh of relief. She wasn't angry with him and that's what really made his night. Honestly, he had just imagined, just sitting there for a bit, and leaving before she woke up. Seems like Yang had perfect timing when it came to catching him. He can't help but be relieved because of that because it had worked out quite well for both of them it seemed.
"Hey, I understand. It was a bit of a shock." he reassured her. "We can work through it."

"No, no, that's not what I meant," Yang said, shaking her head. "Just...it's a good thing, that you know how I feel. I don't know how, but...you read me easily. Not everyone can do that you know." She felt like it was important Adrien know that. She didn't know where their relationship was going to go, but it was special. She knew that much, at least. "I know. But still. You probably weren't feeling great and I made you feel even shittier with what I said." She hadn't cared how much her words hurt him at the moment. She just wanted to feel mad. At least they were on good terms again, maybe even better now that Yang knew who Adrien really was. Some barriers between them had been broken down.

"I know. I know. I'm glad I met you when I did." he said. "I guess the whole mask thing was kind of stupid but... I was afraid you wouldn't like me as... Adrien. Since you seemed to like Chat so much."
Her opinion meant the world to him. He didn't want to think about what he would have done if she had told him to piss off. If she never wanted to see him as Chat or as Adrien. Naturally, he would have respected her wishes if that was the case, but he wouldn't have been happy with it. He might even have gone abroad and stayed abroad. His father would have been happy with that decision. His father hated this city with a passion and didn't understand why his son poured so much money into helping others.
"My... being an Agreste doesn't bother you, does it?" he asked. "The modeling thing? Or the fans? Or... the money?"

Yang didn't know how to respond for a moment, mostly because what Adrien said had some truth to it. She had flipped out when she had seen that he was Chat, and had instantly assumed the worst. She had to remember that not everybody at the top was a prick. Adrien, Elsa, Riku, they were all people up there who had helped her out a lot. She had to learn not to be so judgmental in the future. Although, Adrien didn't seem to think so highly of the people around him either, especially if he considered Yang his only friend. She shook her head. "No. I know I...freaked out at first. But it's okay. I know you're not like some of those snobby rich people running around this city." Despite Adrien's flaws, he was still a good person. He was loyal to his friends and helped out those in need. You had to appreciate somebody like that. Although it seemed like Adrien's father wasn't as kind as he was. Yang sort of wished she could do something about that, but it was probably best not to interfere. She'd probably say something dumb and make Adrien's situation worse. It was better to just stay out of it.

"There's a few of us who aren't." Adrien said. "Like the younger LaFayettes or Miss Crispin. But... my dad won't exactly be very welcoming... He'd probably try to pay you to leave me alone..."
His father would hate Yang on sight. He would try bribery, blackmail and hopefully not resort to threats. His father had to take everything good in Adrien's life and twist it so it either made money or it was cut from his life. Yang could be gorgeous but the model life was not for her. She wasn't a large crowd sort of person. Fan girls would make her irate. She wouldn't be polite to the media. But those were all qualities Adrien liked about her. She was a confident person who didn't let anyone get in her way. She just needed to be reminded of it.

Yang frowned at that. "Sounds like a real jerk," she said, her fingers tightening around Adrien's hand. "He needs to get over himself." People like him were the reason she tended to be bitter towards the rich in the first place. She had had too many experiences of them looking down at her because she was living on the streets. Or, they saw people like her and her kids and decided it wasn't worth their time to try and help them. "I'm glad you didn't turn out like him." It could have been easy for Adrien to just follow in his father's footsteps and act like he did. But he hadn't, and had chosen to be kind to those around him. That took some guts, even if he still couldn't just be blunt to his father and tell him exactly what he thought.
