Yang gave a small smile. She had heard Adrien promise not to leave again before, but it still made her happy to feel those words. Even though she felt like she screwed things up a lot and was better off not getting involved in other people's problems, she just couldn't let him go. She told herself she could still hang out with him, she just wouldn't get too involved in things. Trying to fix his situation with his dad or something would probably end badly, like it usually did when she tried to fix problems. This was alright, for now. "Thanks. That means a lot," she said before finishing off the last of her burger. She gave a contented sigh as she leaned back in her chair. "Nothing makes you feel good quite a like a bacon cheeseburger," she commented.

Adrien smiled and picked up the wrappers from their demolished food. He was still working on his shake, but was otherwise done eating. It was probably one of the better meals he had. But that was because, he wasn't eating alone and he wasn't being watched like a hawk in case he ate something that was 'bad for the skin/body/weight/etc'. Yang didn't just. And from the sound of thing, she wanted to be around him as much as he wanted to be around her. Which made him grin like an idiot. Or a bigger idiot. It drove him nuts how just the littlest of things she could say or do could literally make his day.
"Between hospital food and rice crackers, burgers win hands down." Adrien laughed.

Yang was glad to see Adrien looking pretty happy. She wasn't sure if it was 'cause he was out of the house, or the food. Maybe it was combination of both. Burgers, fries, and milkshakes went pretty well together. Maybe this could be a thing with the two of them, just getting some junk food while they talked. It would certainly give Adrien the break he needed from the diet his dad kept him on. "We'll have to go through the list of foods that overload on calories, just to tick off your dad," she joked. "There's pizza, buffalo wings, fried chicken. Basically anything fried. Like, you haven't lived until you've tried fried oreos." Out of all the things in the world that could be friend, oreos seemed like the least likely option. But, her kids had gotten her to try one, and she had gotten hooked after that. They weren't a Nevermore Coffeehouse specialty, but still. They were pretty dang good.

"And I can introduce you to European chocolate. I can sneak you these truffle things that I managed to get in Switzerland the last time I was there." Adrien said. "They're like crack."
Sure, it was high grade chocolate. But Adrien wanted to share. She had, after all, let him into her house. The least he could do was bring her something nice the next time he came over. He couldn't exactly do the courtesy 'congrats on your new home' bottle of wine. Next best thing (in his mind anyways) was chocolate. But it was more or less sneaking them out of the house, because his father didn't know he had them. Honestly, there were worse 'addictions' he could have than chocolate.
"Or... maybe take you out for a big steak with a loaded baked potato or something." he said but then defended that with. "Calories right?"

"I do love some chocolate every once in a while," Yang agreed. Then again, she liked almost anything that was sweet, no matter the flavor. She blamed the Nevermore Coffeehouse for that. It didn't help that they practically had the best sweets in the city. When Adrien mentioned taking her out sometime for a steak and baked potato, it reminded her of what he had said in the hospital, about how he wanted to treat her to lunch or something. Truthfully, the idea of being out in a place as public as a restaurant still freaked her out a little bit. But, maybe with Adrien it wouldn't be so bad. But, it still might be a while before she felt ballsy enough to actually do it. She was still paranoid about somebody making a comment about her arm. Or worse, getting flashbacks at the worst times. It tended to happen over the littlest things sometimes. If she got startled too badly, or there was an unexpected loud noise, her body instantly went into "fight or flight" mode, and Thrax just seemed to materialize out of thin air and appear right before her eyes. It frustrated her sometimes, how she used to be brave enough to tackle on anything. Now, something little could terrify her and just make her brain overreact. "You still think I could handle that? Going out on a lunch date?" she asked. It wasn't just her that might have problems. Maybe Adrien's fangirls would show up. Or a journalist, desperately wanting an interview. She wasn't the only one who attracted trouble.

"That's good to know."
It was. He would file it away for later. In case he ever needed to show up with apology chocolates or 'just because' chocolates. He was bound to stick his paw in his mouth at some point. And apology chocolates were better than apology punches to the face. He looked up at her with a light smile. She probably felt pretty on edge about what happened. Thrax was still out there. Adrien was going to use every resource at his fingertips to help the police wrap the guy up in a nice little bow for her (also known as silver cuffs) but who was he to differ?
"I... could always have something brought here?" he offered. "If you want to take things a little slower."

"Maybe. I don't know," Yang mused as she absentmindedly nibbled on a french fry. "I mean, everyone's saying I should take things slow and stuff, but I can't keep doing that forever. They're going to want me to get back out there and do normal things again eventually. Right now, that just seems a little...scary." Yang wasn't sure if she could ever reach that point, doing normal things again like grocery shopping or going to work. It was almost like she had to pretend that nothing happened. How could she ever go back to the way things were, when she had lost a part of her? She knew her friends would never push her into doing something too extreme right now, but what would happen when their patience ran out? Would they get frustrated if she wasn't recovering as quickly as they would like? She couldn't help but have these paranoid thoughts. Then again, she didn't want to get too involved in things anymore, given her tendency to make them worse. Jane had told her she couldn't cut herself off from everyone, that helping was just a basic human function that you couldn't ignore. Just ditching everyone was too extreme a move. That wasn't what Yang was aiming for. She just wanted to passively observe things from now on, rather than get in the thick of them. That way, she could avoid messing things up. It seemed like the best solution to her, although her friends didn't seem to agree with her on that.

"What you went through was bad," Adrien said.
Putting it lightly, but it was. He was trying to avoid the doom and gloom talk by keeping the mood light, but so far, money and Yang's injury came up. These had to be addressed or Yang would keep worrying. It was just how she was. He didn't want to make her worry. She probably had enough on her mind as it was. But he would come over daily to reassure her that her fears were for nothing if that was what it took.
"You're allowed to take some time to heal. And that doesn't mean just physical healing." he said. "Yeah, you have to come to terms with what happened, but you need to do it at your pace. You take as long as you need because Yang, this is about you and your needs. We'll do whatever makes you comfortable, okay?"
And that's all he wanted. Not for things to go back to 'normal' but for Yang to be happy again. He would do whatever he had to just to get her relaxed and calm. His fingers twitched. He wanted to reach out, pull her into a tight hug and hold her close, but he was giving her the space she needed. He couldn't just touch her because he felt like it.

Really, the mental healing was what Yang was worried about. It was easy to heal from a physical injury. You treated the wound, you took meds if you had to, you had professionals look at it to make sure it was healing up okay. It was simple. A mental injury, that was something else entirely. You could take meds for it, but who knew how to long it would take to kick in. You could get treatment, but there was no guarantee it would actually work. And doctors could never estimate how long it would take to recover. How long it took Yang to get over this depended on her response to treatment. There were too many variables involved. Adrien was sure that he and the rest of her friends would take things at her pace, but Yang wondered if she could ever get a pace going to begin with. What if she just hit a roadblock and couldn't move on past it? The nightmares, being jumpy, getting nervous around loud noises, they seemed to happen so frequently lately. They seemed almost impossible to recover from. And it wasn't just Thrax on her mind nowadays. A lot of the people who had hurt her in the past tended to frequent her nightmares now. Gavin, Cinder, Vanitas, it was like all the bad people in her life had piled up, and then when Thrax had come along, it had just made everything explode. She glanced at Adrien. He seemed to be in a fairly cheerful mood. She didn't want to bring it down with all this doom and gloom talk. "Well, I think one thing that'll make me comfortable is a nap," she said as she stretched her arms over her head. All that junk food was making her go through a food coma. She needed to sleep it off. "You can stick around for a bit, if you want. Watch some TV or something." She didn't want to boot Adrien out the door if home was something he was trying to avoid. He could hide out at her place if he wanted.

"O-Oh, yeah, don't mind me." he reassured her. "I'll just clean things up here and get out of your hair."
He should probably get back to his house before his father noticed a car missing. Not that his father actually knew how to drive a car or would drive one for himself. It was just better to be safe than sorry. But he would stick around, just long enough for Yang to go to sleep and for him to be sure she wasn't going to have a nightmare. Maybe he should look into that? Talk to his nutritionist, say he had been having trouble sleeping and get Yang some sleeping tonics or something. But then he would be interfering again. This was so complicated. All he wanted to do was help.

"Thanks again for...everything you've done today," Yang said. Really, she felt like Adrien had done a lot. Picking her up, getting her lunch, cleaning up afterwards, she felt like the last time she had asked for this much help was when she had talked with Sunshine, Elsa, and Shadow about what to do with herself and her kids. And even then, Riku had joined the conversation, offering her this house. But, it was something she was going to have to get used to. She wouldn't be able to do things like she used to for a while, and some of them, she may never be able to. Until then, she was going to have to ask for help, as much as she loathed the idea of burdening someone with her troubles. She headed to her bedroom, but stopped at the doorway to glance back at Adrien. It was odd. Having him here almost felt...right. It was like they were living together already. She turned red at the thought and quickly shook away anymore ideas about domestic bliss. They weren't even going out at this point, and who knew if they ever would. Yang still had those feelings for him, and she'd be lying if she said they weren't growing every time she spent time with him. She just had no idea how to go about in dealing with them. It looked like she'd just have to settle with this, for the time being. He could help her out in getting adjusted to things again, and she could offer her house as a place for him to escape to. "Feel free to stay here, as long as you want," she said to him.

"Of course Yang," he said. "If you need anything... Well, I'd say call, but... phones... I'll just leave you my number."
He blushed once he realized he had started rambling. Yang was not good for his mind to mouth filter. When she was around, he tended to blurt out the first thing that came to mind. At least he wasn't going on and on about how pretty she was. Then he really would have been in trouble. And well, very embarrassed. Because Yang didn't know what she did to him. She was completely unaware of the powers she had over him. One look and he was utter putty in her hands. A smile and he would jump into the sun if she asked him. It was a little overwhelming.
"Thank you."

Yang gave a little laugh. "I have a house phone, at least. That'll do for now." She remembered thinking about getting a cell phone a few months back, but that didn't seem as important now. Maybe she could find one for cheap somewhere. She was pretty sure she had heard of places where people could donate old cell phones so they could go to others. Having a phone on the go would be nice, in case she needed help and she was away from the house. Maybe she'd have to bump that up on her "Important To-Do" list. Right now though, the most important thing was getting some sleep. Knowing that Adrien was outside the bedroom door was a pretty comforting thought, and it did help her relax a bit. However, she remembered reading somewhere that sleeping a lot was a sign of depression. She wasn't sure if that was the case, or if she just needed rest because she was still recovering from an injury. She was still turning it over in her mind as she fell asleep.
