"The rabbit thing is fixable. I... found the cure," Aqua admitted.
Translated and all. It took some doing. Now she just had to do the 'curing' part. She bit her lip a little sheepishly. She might have been forcing the whole reunion thing, the whole, 'rescuing Weiss' from her rotten parents, but she truly wanted the siblings to happy. For not having a strategy, things hadn't blown up yet and that was saying something considering Weiss' temper. She offered Weiss a smile, trying to reassure the younger girl that it was okay. Things were rushing fast so no wonder Weiss felt uncomfortable with it all. It was a lot to take in.

He smiled at his sister. "I've got reasons to be happy. Yes, even as a rabbit" Riku walked over to his sister and put a hand on her shoulder. "That's understandable" he said with a smile. "You're sort of caught in a whirlwind" His ears went straight up and he looked at his partner oddly. "You knew this whole time and you kept it to yourself? I mean, I get that Weiss and I making up is important but..."

Aqua and Riku seemed understanding about Weiss feeling confused, which she appreciated. However, the tone shifted when Aqua said she knew what the cure was for Riku's curse, and Riku didn't seem especially pleased about that. He didn't sound necessarily mad, but he wasn't about to let the issue slide by. She glanced back and forth between the two, not sure what was about to happen. It seemed like the fight between her and Riku was settling down a bit, but was another one about to break out between Riku and Aqua?

"I figured that out last night!" Aqua defended quickly. "But it's not something I can fix myself."
She glanced between the two siblings. Should she say it? How strange would it be to say she wanted Weiss to angrily cry over her brother? There was no one in the city who was more angry at Riku than Weiss, but they had defused the situation a little too well. But her little discovery was what prompted the sudden dinner. She wasn't angry with Riku. She didn't want to be but she supposed if it had to happen... But would it be genuine if she knew? Would it genuine if she told them what it was and then they tried to evoke it?

"Why can't you?" Riku asked, a little frustrated and bewildered. "Do I need to help you? what do I need to do?" Why couldn't Aqua tell him? They were partners! She should tell him what was going on! Sunshine and Shadow did. Why couldn't Aqua just trust him?! Maybe because the last time she trusted him he had turned into a giant rabbit. Ugh, this was so frustrating!

Weiss was getting nervous. It seemed like this get-together was just one fight after another. She wondered if maybe she should leave and let Aqua and Riku work this out. This was their business, not hers. But she also wanted to know how exactly to cure this curse of Riku's. Maybe it was something she could help out with. She had tons of books on voodoo. Maybe they could lead her somewhere.

"Because... Because if I do then it's intentional!" Aqua protested. "If you tried to force it to happen then it might not work!"
It was a curse. Magic would do as it willed. She doubted Vanitas actually meant to turn Riku into a giant rabbit. It was strange how that spell reacted. But... at the same time, if she told him the cure was tears, then he tried to cry it might not work because he would do it with the intention to cure himself and it wouldn't be as 'pure' as it would have been if the reaction were natural. She hated doing this to him. She looked down at the table. Well, dinner was unsalvageable anyways. Might as well as blow the whole evening.
"You of all people should know you can't force this. At least Terra understood that."
It was a low blow, comparing Riku to Terra. It made her heart twist uncomfortably. But if someone didn't cry by the end of the night, she might take up day drinking. Those stupid LaFayettes and their stupid emotional constipation. They all needed to sit down and have a good cry. But now, family image and what have you, drilled into their heads since infancy. Humans were just as equally frustrating as they were endearing sometimes.

If Riku were human then his face would have turned as white as his and his sister's hair. Some tears slipped into his facial fur and he blinked rapidly to make them go away. "I thought you knew I am nothing like Terra!" he spat angrily. "I don't know how many times I have to remind you he's dead! Am I just a replacement to you?! Still?!" He was so angry and shocked and hurt the tears were coming down freely now but he didn't notice them. He also didn't notice the glowing that was starting to form around him, encasing him in a see-through cocoon of light. He only had eyes for Aqua, staring at her angrily.

Weiss blinked. Terra? Who was that? But before she could ask, something started happening. Riku wasn't just furry now. He was...glowy, like light was filling him up from the inside out. "Uh, Riku?" She pointed, wondering what was happening. Was Riku changing back? Was he turning into something else?

No. You were never a replacement. It died on her tongue. Every part of her seemed to scream to back off, that this was a bad idea. That Riku didn't deserve this, but if she didn't cure him soon, things for him could get so much worse. She couldn't just stand by and idly let it happen. But if she told him that the cure was angry tears, then he would have tried to intentionally get mad enough to cry. She screwed her eyes shut, knowing that her egging had worked. She broke her promise to Riku and it stung something so fierce that she could barely breathe.
"Yes."
Lies. Lies. More lies. Her throat felt thick. Despite her eyes being closed she could feel her own eyes watering, not angrily though she supposed she was quite angry with herself for how low she had sank. Red would have said her Unseelie roots were showing. Aqua only felt disgusted with herself.

Riku got up so fast his chair flung backwards and fell over. At this point he didn't care about the cure, he just cared about the fact that his partner still thought of him as a replacement, an extra, for her dear deceased Terra. "To bad there's no way to make darling Terra come back from the dead" he spat in disgust and turned away before falling to his knees. His body felt like it was on fire as the light intensified. The cocoon getting to bright to look at. When it vanished Riku was there, human and shirtless in way too big pants. He looked at his human arms and hands in silent wonder. But it was eclipsed by the anger and betrayal he felt.

To Weiss's astonishment, Riku turned from his bunny self to a human. "Riku...holy crap, look! You're human again!" She couldn't help but feel a surge of happiness and ran and hugged her brother. She may have been fighting with him earlier this evening, but she was still happy that he was back to normal. However, she soon realized how much affection she was showing, and she quickly pulled away, her face turning red. However, there was still a question on her mind: How exactly had Riku turned human again? She turned to Aqua and asked "What happened? What triggered his transformation?" Surely, Aqua could say what had been needed, now that the spell was broken, right?

"Angry tears." Aqua replied, resigned. "I thought the person who was most angry with him would be able to... And when you wouldn't..."
Desperate measures. She got up from her seat. This had gone wrong. All wrong. She never meant to do this, but it was done. Her lips pursed in distaste over the evening. She couldn't say anything to fix what she had done to him. Aqua slipped into the back bedroom. She had a few of Terra's old things there, waiting for Riku. Because had been determined to cure him by the end of the night. She would not let the curse start to hurt him further as curses often did. After a certain period of time, things would get progressively worse and more painful. She stopped short of the duo and offered the clothes to Weiss.
"Have him put these on," she told Weiss.

"So you used my emotions against me, any reason why you were so desperate to make me human again by the end of the night?" he asked bitterly, after he had hugged his sister tightly, before she pulled away from him, beet red. He glanced over at the clothes and his lips curled. "I'd rather not be even more like him than you think I am" he said coldly and got to his bare feet. "I'm taking a taxi home"

Weiss bit her lip. That was what needed to be done? For a moment, she felt guilty about not being able to break the curse herself. But then again, should she feel guilty about it? She had already said lots of nasty things to Riku tonight. Would saying something bad enough to make him cry really make her feel better? Aqua certainly didn't seem happy about doing it, and Riku was pretty pissed. Was there anything Weiss could do to make this better? She had no idea who this Terra guy was. Maybe a past partner of Aqua's? A boyfriend? A brother? Whatever the reason, Riku didn't want to replace him. No wonder Aqua's jabs at him had hurt. "Riku, wait, hold on a second," she said, reaching out to put a hand on his shoulder. "Was anything she said really any worse than the stuff I said? How come you can forgive me and not her?" Personally, Weiss felt like she didn't deserve any forgiveness. Aqua, on the other hand, had been nothing but nice to her since they had met, despite Weiss acting pretty bitchy towards her at first. She deserved forgiveness far more than Weiss did, in her opinion.
