"Yeah. She works part time as a cop and part time as a baker at a shop called Nevermore. It's family owned." Adrien explained.
Nevermore was the place where police officers frequented almost like a second office. The treats were good and the coffee even better. Adrien wouldn't know. His father never let him stray from his 'model' diet. Let alone cater from the Seddon family, even if they were the best bakery in the city. Adrien's father would rather die than be seen 'slumming' it up with the commoners. If only he knew his son did that on a daily basis. He might have a heart attack. Or at least lock Adrien away for good.
"She's actually really sweet once you get to know her." he defended. "But uh, I'd skip out on the 'charming' act with her. She has a partner who... doesn't appreciate it."
That was putting it lightly. Shadow had feelings for Sunshine. Except it seemed Sunshine didn't return the affection as she had been seen lately with Riku LaFayette. Still, Adrien respected Shadow enough not to make a move on Sunshine. That was beside the point. Adrien had Yang to worry about.

Except it seemed Sunshine didn't return the affection as she had been seen lately with Riku LaFayette. Still, Adrien respected Shadow enough not to make a move on Sunshine. That was beside the point. Adrien had Yang to worry about. Well there went his plan to flirt with every potential other unit officer. While it wasn't necessarily a good plan to begin with, if he ever ended up behind bars he would want to be a good terms with everyone and that included this partner that Chat mentioned. "Sounds like a good guy to have watching your back, protective and watching out for you from shady guys like myself." He smirked, the idea of him being shady was not unheard of, Wally had often heard whispers if heroes like him were doing this for other means than just helping people. He wondered if Chat dealt with the same thing? Unless it was already happening but for other reasons. "I gotta say though this town is much more intense than where I've lived before." A lot of more crime and much more interesting people.

"Yeah, he's a good guy," Adrien agreed, "But something tells me you're not the worst type of guy they're going to run into."
No. If ranking them, Kid Flash was just a step down from being a police officer himself. Adrien on the other hand walked the line of shady, sometimes dancing over it and waving as it passed by. Other times, he stood directly in front of it, with not a toe out of place. It just depended on what he was doing when he met that officer in question. Like when he met Sunshine and Shadow, he was in a museum, stealing from a 'shady' curator who had stolen his 'priceless artifacts' from low income families who had to tried to sell the items, but not only had the curator swindled them out of the money he owed them, but the money he claimed to owe them too.
Or how he had helped with the Sapien bust and the prison riots. His body still ached from the exertion of chasing down criminals and helping the police arrest them. Then he had been a Good Samaritan in a mask. He had fought until his body couldn't take it anymore. Then he had heard that during the riots, Yang got hurt and lost her arm. He just acted out of instinct, running to the hospital with a bone chilling fear that he would be too late - that the last thing she would ever had of him was him walking out. He hadn't wanted things to end like that.
"Unfortunate side effect of having so many humans, gifted humans and Others in one place." Adrien explained.

There was a difference between Others and gifted humans? That was new. Well, in a way that made sense. There was a big difference between his powers and that of an actual demon. Way different. He wondered if other towns and cities had gifted humans there too. It wasn't like they were advertising it in the newspapers or anything like that. Wally smirked and raised an eyebrow.
"I'll take that as a compliment." he joked. It sounded like Chat had been around the city enough to know the ends and outs and the dangers out there. A real hero never questioned the dangers, but he meant what he said about not checking out Thrax, at least not until he was ready to be of use. He would hate to have himself get hurt because he was foolish enough to ignore Chat's advice.
"I take it some humans do not like gifted people that much." he suggested. It wasn't abnormal. He had seen a few people glare at his acts from time to time, even those who had been saved.

"Take them as you get them!" Adrien agreed.
Adrien wanted Kid Flash to know about the city, to help give him a leg up. The more Kid Flash knew, the better off he would be, the safer he could be. Knowledge was power. Chat had more experience than Kid Flash. Simple as that. But Adrien didn't want Kid Flash walking into something with a blindfold over his eyes. Best to make things as clear as he could get.
"There was a group of 'Human Purists' called Grey Dawn that tried to poison the entire city with a drug called Sapien. It makes Others and gifted humans... just human." he said. "The BPD stopped them though. But no, not all humans like anyone different."

"Dude, that sounds like it sucked." Kid Flash muttered, thinking about that drug. Taking away his powers would have been a big problem during his first experience with his powers. He would have been dead. Human Purists. Of course there would be people like that. It didn't really matter who people were or if they had different powers. What was the damn point. Not everyone was going to be created equal.
"I hate people like that," He shook his head trying to get away from the thoughts of wanting those kinds of people to disappear. If he had gone that kind of path, he would be no better than a common criminal. It was very interesting to think about. What if he had gone down that path? He and Chat would have been enemies. That was something he wouldn't want to think about.
The other units, he would have to try to meet with them sometimes. "I mean, not all people who don't have powers are bad but...people who hurt others because of it. It makes me sick."

"There was a psychotic demon supporting them," Adrien continued, "Apparently he tampered with their Sapien and it would have hurt regular humans instead. The guy's name is Vanitas."
Not to mention the same demon went and took hostages. It took a civilian stepping up to talk him down to have the whole thing end with no incident. He had been arrested with the hostages released into medical custody to make sure they hadn't been hurt too badly by the demon (unlike a certain officer who got turned into a giant rabbit because of the same man). However, during the prison riots, he managed to escape and had been laying low ever since. It was a bit frightening that someone so dangerous could be out and no one knew where he was. He could be doing anything right now. Preparing for his next big plan or planning revenge for his arrest. It made him feel very anxious.
"Unfortunately, we're different. We're just going to have to show we're the better people."
Adrien was always used to being different. His father drilled that one into his head since he was a young boy. He was different - special. Granted his old man had no clue Adrien was an Other. He wouldn't have taken that one well. His father hated Others with a passion. But Adrien's mother had been an Other. Though, she might have been the only exception to the rule.

Geez demons really had it out for the town. What was it? Like some sort of breeding ground for them? Maybe Wally wouldn't have a choice weather or not he ran into them. Thankfully, things seemed to be gotten under control by this Other's Unit. Another reason why it might be a good idea to at least meet with one of them. Make sure that they knew he was on their side. "Yeah, i guess it would be asking too much for people to just accept that others are different."
He frowned, thinking about the idea of being better. There was different ways that could be misheard. Some like Chat, would do it to help people. There were others who would do anything they could to prove that wasn't possible. "We can only hope that some people out there will be able to persuade others to think differently."

"There are good people in this city. Don't let all the doom and gloom talk worry you!" Adrien tried to reassure Kid Flash.
He just wanted to make sure that Kid Flash was 'up to speed' on all the big current events. He would be in the know. Vanitas and Thrax just happened to be heavy hitting criminals. Both with records a mile long and a mile wide. Not the stealing candy from children but dismemberment and hostage taking types. The worst of the worst. Someone that Kid Flash should know to either avoid or bring lots of backup in for. Otherwise, consequences could be dire - like curses or loss of limb. Adrien didn't want anyone to die because of demons either.

Adrien didn't want anyone to die because of demons either. Relief. Chat was a good guy, not many people would be willing to share that kind of information with a newbie hero in the city. It was really kind of a nice experience. Demons were something that would need a lot of experience in order to handle. He knew that the type of crimes that they committed were much different than the one he had just stopped but he hoped that in time he could help others face those kinds of monsters. He wasn't too worried, he was a fast learner (and not just because of his powers). "Well, then its up to us heroes to help protect those good people," he said giving the fellow hero a thumbsup

"Naturally!" Chat agreed, almost boastfully.
He did his fair share of heroics. He might not have been entirely as good as Kid Flash was, or as legal, but he did what he did in order to help. But if he wanted to keep out of jail, and not put his 'friends' in the middle of a moral debate, he was going to have to stop stealing. Not hard because he didn't want the stuff in the first place. He could just stick with his Robinhood stick. Where he took things his father's. He just needed to start leaving breadcrumbs for the police. To lead them to the real villains. He could still take credit for it in a typical Chat Noir-fashion, but not break laws doing it.

If nothing else, now he knew the ropes and gossip of what was going on the streets. It would make things much more safer and he would know what to avoid and who to get into contact with. The Other Unit, he would have to try to at least meet one of their officers at some point. "Well, I guess, I'll see you at the docks. I should probably take this guy to the station, before he starts to stir." he nodded to the unconscious assaulter. It would be great to at least drop him off at the police station

"With a big red ribbon and a note that says 'with love, Kid Flash'!" Chat laughed. "Because who doesn't like presents like that?"
Granted, Chat was normally known for those theatrics. He usually left a small calling card in the shape of a cat head - naturally black with green eyes. He did something and people knew it was him. The media was starting to cover his more 'robinhood' actions than his thefts. Though, he hadn't stolen much of anything since Cinder declared war on him. He was still waiting for her to make her move, which left him anxious. He shook that thought aside and offered the other masked 'hero' a smile. It was an unexpected turn of his evening.
"It was nice meeting you KF." he said.

Wally smirked. "Not a bad idea actually." Like a natural show-off Wally did like his deeds to be shown. It wasn't very mature of him but it helped get the name out there that there were in fact heroes protecting the city. If nothing else, at least it made sure other bad guys were aware that they could not look over their shoulder without a fear of a hero coming.
"You too Chat." he said returning the smile before picking up the unconscious criminal. "See you at the docks."

"See you!"
He reached for his staff and pulled it out. With a click of a button, it extended and he was raised up to the fire escape once more. He gave Kid Flash a wave before dashing up the ladder. He was going to have to call it a night. If he pushed his luck anymore, Natalie or his bodyguard would notice him out of bed. Then things could really get complicated. Secret identities were so hard to maintain.
